Software Update 1.29.401.7 little bug task manager - HTC One X

Hello everybody,
after successfully updated my HTC ONE X, which by the way, i love it, you could see a bug on your task manager, after opening it, on the top of your screen where the cross is , there is taiwanese / chinese writing
Need to send an email to htc and let them know about it, thinking that a new update might be coming shortly ahah.
Cheers,
HTC LOVER!

Can you post a screenshot please? I haven't seen any taiwanese/chinese in my task manager

Also, which locale are you set to? I'll be annoyed if this is in UK English

For the record, there is no such thing as Taiwanese text. Taiwan is the Republic of China, the government is from China, they speak Chinese (as much as you would consider Cantonese, Hakka, Mandarin all to be Chinese), they write Chinese.

Havent you guys the same problem? i am based in France and got the HTC EUROPE version.
It is kinda weird though, i have checked french websites also, and they seem having the same problem.
Check it once again and let me know your thoughts. i will post a screenshot soon.

Not present in Danish

Present il France too...

OP is French, so we know it's there...

Taiwanese uses traditional characters. Mainland China uses simplified characters.

Some people still do not understand this also. Taiwanese = Traditional , Chinese = Simplified

That means stop all It's a bug for the people who don't use Chinese obviously

Taiwan maybe belongs to China, but the law there is different, you need a visa to get there, the taiwanese people will hate you if you say that they are chinese still. Dont get me wrong brother but i lived there for three years

Hope that HTC will fix those minor bugs asap!

Well don't wanna get into too much history, but at this moment consider Taiwan as another country, and both Hong Kong and Taiwan version of the Roma use traditional Chinese while China uses simplified Chinese.
At any case I wonder if this effects all other languages besides simplified Chinese

HTC Desire - Where do I get this phone case?

Hi All,
I was just wondering where I can find the silver HTC Desire case. Since I can't post links until my account is verified by a moderator, just follow these short instructions to find the awesome case I'm talking about!
Step 1. Click on the Mobile Tech World link in shure2's thread titled "HD video recording? ".
Step 2. Look at the second picture. The HTC Desire case I want is in the middle.
So if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Alternatively if anyone knows where I can get official HTC accesories like cases etc. that would a great help.
Thanks in advance!
That picture doesn't look like the Desire is encased. It looks...naked
Are talking about the same picture? Maybe you think it's in a silver case because the photo is overexposed from the flash?

Btw, as far as I know, HTC doesn't make cases for their phones. I could be wrong since I've only seen 3rd party case makers...
The only place I know they are selling this one is from coolblue in belgium and netherlands they claim to be an exclusive seller of this one.
silver desire at coolblue
@ohyeahar - That's what I thought originally, that it might be overexposed, but then I thought that couldn't be the explanation.
@Staticsoul - Thanks heaps for this, it looks great imo. However it doesn't have the red trimming around the camera, hmm... But's it a step in the right direction, thanks guys!
This IMO is how HTC have managed to cash in while NOT having this phone exclusive to a network.
They will offer the Silver Colour exclusive to one network in each region, similar to how Nokia do it. So for Example, in the UK all networks may get the normal Desire but T-Mobile could get the normal and exclusively get the silver desire.
I have read that the red trim on the camera will not be on the desire when it releases the picture you're showing is a prototype model.
Hmm, that's a bit disappointing...
I'm inclined to purchase the phone from smartphone shop, however I can't read Dutch!
Also the phone will work on my current network's (Vodafone) frequencies but Three Mobile (which I'm going to get) only supports UMTS 2100 in Australia. This phone (if purchased from Belgium) doesn't seem to support 2100, according to the web site anyhow...
I could flash to a UK ROM soon after release but I'm not sure how long an upload of different ROM's to the internet typically takes soon after release... Depending on how long it takes I might be chewing up a lot of credit with Vodafone due to the data-intensive apps that I plan to run.
I don't think they ship anywhere else than belgium or the netherlands. but maybe there are other retailers that sell it exclusively in the UK?
Does anyone know about the black one? I've seen the black several places, and I think it looks much sexier than the brown one. So the question is where to get it

Yeah, I saw it there after making my post. Exclusive for France, though? That would suck
I also read a few places (after posting) that the black one might be promo-model only, which could be true, considering that the pictures I've seen are all the same (iirc), and that those obviously aren't of the retail version, because there is a few differences from the other versions we've seen. However, I saw a black one in a video, that looked just like the final versions, so I'm still confused.

Mobbyway : a new and efficient radar detector

Hello everybody,
just a message to announce a new freeware to detect speed camera. it's a french software, with live update for the mobile radar.
you can find this jewel her : http://www.mobbyway.com/

The only needs is to be many users on the road and if your data account is free, you can use everywhere.
Just hope to be enough users in front of you to give information to server but it’s everybody problem

I always thought XDA was a non-US site to begin with...
Hi guys,
4 months since the last answer on this thread... It's time to "up" this thread once again !
First of all : don't use the zip file provided in the post #2, because it's really really too old now.
Go to www.mobbyway.com to download the latest version (v21 for the moment !)
Many things have changed with this brilliant software...
About 4 to 5 new versions release, a growing and growing amount of users (especially since the beginning of september) and an android version release . And a really reactive forum and team.
Iphone version should be available in November and the amount of informatics dummies that are using "this high technology phone" (hum hum) will, I hope, really increase again the number of users.
I use this software for 3 months and the number of user has amazingly increased !
Nevermore alone on the road ;-)
As said previously, it's a software written in France but also used in Belgium, Netherlands.
If the law allow it (for instance in Germany this kind of software is not allowed), I think you can use it all over the world (it's just GPS coordinates that are transmitted, and I think they will not be stopped at the border ;-)
You should give it a try, because it's really impressive (and free).
Remember that this kind of software is "cooperative" so, even if there are not many users in the beginning, continue to use it and this will reinforce the community.
That's what we call in French a "snow ball effect" (if this snow ball downs a slope)

Suppose to be for TV (TV Tuner), anyone knows where I can find the App to exploit that ?
I can't seem to find anything.
Here's a video showing what it does on a Galaxy Tab.

Thank you for the help
Probably gonna be tough. Most of us don't have korean sgs2
I understand that, just trying to figure out if there's a Korean Rom that would have the APK and someone saved it or something.
Also the app seems available on Brazil devices too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919219
Found this, i'll see if I can make it work on a SGSII rom.
isnt that galaxy s in that picture?
no Ariel or TV tuner chip I am aware of in this phone, hows that gonna work exactly?
I think that this is NOT Samsung Galaxy (S/S2) at all
yeah agree doesn't look like any variant of the SII I've seen, maybe a misleading buy
Here is the link from the korean Samsung website
LINK
Some where in the middle is the tv thing but it's just the info sry couldn't find an app. Maybe you can try in a korean android forum?

Guys all he/she is saying is their antenna is like whats in the picture they did not say they had that handset in photo.
i'm a bit gutted, i'd quite like to watch TV on my phone
NVM, guess i'll carry on using TV Catchup...
Broadcast type problems
according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATSC_standards
In Korea they are switching over to ATSC as used in the USA
Don't know how that would work with DVB/T in Europe
Don't know how that would work with ISDB-T in Brazil
Different tuner chips would be needed...

I don't know if it is available in the UK but in Switzerland you can have Internet TV.
You pay 9 chf per month and you can watch as much TV as you want over the mobile internet.
You don't even have to pay for the traffic because it's integrated.
So maybe you have this to in the UK?

Aye we have similar things but the difference is that the TV thing from Swisscom comes directly from a provider.
That's the reason why we don't pay for the traffic even when you have a limit.
You have just to pay once.
I don't know how much it costs in the UK but in Switzerland are the flat rates too expensive so it's quite useful. Anyway it's OT .
could someone please answer this question as they sell the same thing in fiji but i do not know the korean app....very very hopefull

The Korean variant of SGSII has a tv chip but no FM radio chip. The problem is that the tv works only in Korea. I my self had a Korean version but traded it for international one because it was impossible to make the tv to work in my country.

Today, Samsung is one on top of it and donated every Galaxy German owner of a note a so-called free Flipcover.
As the small print on the dedicated website called, that the offer is only for people over 14 years, the offer is valid only while supplies last, no resale is permitted and done the only shipping to addresses within the Federal Republic of Germany.
Get your free Flip-Cover
I tried it, and it said my IMEI was already registered. That's strange because my phone was completely sealed, never opened. lol.
EDIT: That's funny! i just received an email saying that they'll ship it to me! I guess I accidentally hit the button twice. Regardless, I don't reside in Germany. Hopefully they'll ship it to me because I bought it from Germany. They should honor that. lol.
Is that an extra flip cover? Mine came free with the phone in a separate package.

The website seems to be overloaded, but at last I got the email with the promised flipcover.
Hmmm, the site wouldn't accept a UK postcode. I found out German codes are between 2 and 5 numbers, so I entered '00000' and included my postcode and country in the town field, fingers crossed!
How we can get to this page without the direct link? I mean, whats the way to get to this going from the site "samsung.de"?
Im looking for but i cant find...

In Brazil we have 8 numbers (xxxxx-xxx). I put the first 5 numbers in postcode field and de other 3 in the beginning of the town field, before the city and country.
My email confirmation come with then in the right form.
Lets see if iy works.
Won't work
They'll probably ship with a bigger national envelope which won't cross the border...
For Spanish Buyers:
http://www.samsung.com/es/promociones/dispositivos-moviles.html
There are several offers running now, there a few interesting ones for other Galaxy users too.
If I enter my imei and serial it says : incorrect ImEI and serial.
I removed the / / from the IMEI but no joy. Anyone else get incorrect imei ?
And now there are hundreds of Ebay sellers entering in the IMEI of the gray market DE models that never made it out of Asia, shipping them to recently set up German post box services..
About a month from now, Ebay will be flooded with another round of these "free" flip covers, at $50 each.
Anyone of such offers running in the UK? I live in US but bought mine from UK

In a press event held in Taiwan today where HTC unveiled the upgraded versions – HTC One X+ and HTC One S Special Edition, general manager of HTC North Asia, Mr Jack Tong revealed to the press that starting tomorrow HTC One X users in Asia will receive Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware upgrade, while HTC One S users a little bit later (hasnt specified an exact date).
The software upgrade will also bring HTC‘s newest UI (user interface) HTC Sense 4+ beside the new Android version. This is good news for all HTC One X and One S users although HTC hasnt said a word about a global JellyBean rollout yet.
Getting back to One X+ and One S SE these upgraded models should hit Asian shelves around October 30, no world about other markets.

I said it was the CID of Indian version, we have to wait until the OTA was released.
So the update is currently rolling out in Asia? Or is that just a bull**** editorialised title? This info could have just been added to the current JB thread (in fact I think it was), no need for a whole new thread.

Well, we'll find out how reliable they are in the next 24-48 hours, won't we?
I don't think we will get it today, the 26th. According to that source, it would begin rolling out in Asia. So lets assume that is Taiwan, they have only 6 hours left before it's the 27th and the working day is already over.
So I think we have to wait a little longer.

I for one would pay more for a handset from a company that responded well to customer feedback..! And yet again another rumour about an ota being released but no one has gotten it...! Ok, I think that the name of this thread should be change immediately as it's causing confusion. As I know the JB hasn't started rolling out and this is inadequate name for a thread.
