I'm on AT&T, using the HTC One X Tegra 3 model. It's unlocked from France. I received the alert tonight over WiFi, and bang, updated. I don't know what it's all about yet, but it's done.

i agree. there are at least 5 threads on every major topic and all of them stay open. i first noticed almost 1 month ago when i had asked about the audio chip, then saw a whole new thread created for it. i pointed to my thread and asked why we needed 2, but nobody seems to care.
Sorry eh, off topic for awhile. How do u do a screen capture on a one x??

Weird that it is so varied. I have HTC One X (S720e) HTC__203 on f/w 1.29.401.7 and mine screenshots with VolDown+Power.
I have read somewhere the one way is the Android way, the other is the HTC way of making screenshots. I don't know, the One X is my first Android phone. (Have been a very happy Windows Mobile user for years, but kept hating Windows Phone after using it for 16 months).

Both work,mate.
Try to press and hold the power button while touching the home. The only difference is the shutter noise which come only with power and vol.down.The other method make the screenshot without any sound.
When My Desire HD got updated to android 2.3.6, Screenshot was Power and Home Button. Its the same on my One X.

Main reason for me to root if for wifi tethering and custom roms.

Oooooh. Ok, so I a an android n00b. Nothing to see here, move along folks. Seriously, what screen was he looking at when he took the screen shot? As I spent 20 minutes trying to bring up that screen by pressing the power button and home button at the same time. At least I am not as bad as the guy who couldnt figure out how to open his brand new notebook because the manufacturer's logo was upside down (so it is right side up when the notebook is open and running) and he called Amazon and then the manufacturer for support before figuring it out. Left all of this information in a review that was captured on an Epic Fail website.

If you examine the picture
Only the keys you want to move down
Yeah I do not like this keypad .
Moreover, the screen is also shrinking
The buttons you want to move to the HTC logo bar is not a touchscreen, it's more part of the bezel ! It's the choice of HTC.

It would be just as hard to move the soft buttons to the back of the phone as it is to move it to where you want it. Maybe you don't understand That is not part of the touchscreen. When you touch there nothing happens.
You could get LMT Launcher and have pie controls that pop out from the side of the screen, then set the navbar height to zero.
Like i said
But hej everything is possible, mount in a new touchscreen, adapt the software to the new screen size.....etc etc
It's easier to buy a new phone with a bigger screen

The screen is larger to accommodate the onscreen buttons. So what do you want to do fit a smaller screen like the htc One m7 just so you can somehow retro fit the old style htc buttons underneath?
What you propose is not only ridiculous it's pointless. :silly:
SO only after having my T705Y for only a couple days, not even a week that there are 2 black spots on the screen. No idea where these came from. My tablet has always had a case and screen protector on it so could this be factory defective? Should I return it and get a refund?

Thought it'd be a great idea to have option between the captivate keys and on screen buttons like one plus one has.
My guess is it does not, someone can confirm...
Reason being is for ease of use when one hand operation as the captivate keys are being placed at the very bottom of the front.

Even if it is not an option it should be easy to enable since android has it built in. Rom community could add it for sure.

I will have to rewatch them, like you I have watched 384723984792384 reviews so they all blend together. I'm sure I will watch them again soon and I will let you know. But I remember that someone specifically said we have the choice. He didn't show it but he mentioned it. He may have been mistaken so we would really only know once the phone is in hand...
I do remember that I watched a video where the reviewer said that you can have both. To my knowledge, this will come on the version of a custom ROM. I don't think that this will have a stock workaround for a solution.
My Evo LTE had on-screen buttons in certain AOSP Roms, but never stock. Not even Xposed Framework could enable on-screen buttons (at the time) for the Evo.

I'm sure adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to the build prop will still show the on screen buttons
