yes, it can restore back your warranty and you should take note of that your "bin count" should be "0"
if the SSC in your place are strict, they will check that but if their not asking, it's better to keep quiet or just say " Kies failed to update!!" as an excuse

Asking for tricks to make it zero? Hmmm... None as of now. So if you don't have that magic "0" then no warranty for you.

hindi lahat ng zero "0" masama, custom bin count na "0"
translation:
not all zeroes are bad, custom bin count that is "0"

@OP - Just unroot ur phone and flash stock firmware by doky via odin (if u r using a non stock rom)
And make sure ur bin counter is 0

Yes, unroot your phone and install stock fw

Unrooting gives your warranty back and if you are in Custom ROM, you can install Officail firmware in your mobile.
for root and unroot your mobile: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378660
download root and un-root zip files from 1 & 3 posts in above link.

Rooting just adds some app packages i.e. superuser, busybox etc..it does not do anything to the hardware or the system ..Unrooting makes the phone back to normal state ..no problem at all with warranty..and most service centres dont check for Bin count so youre good to go

Bin count only increases if you flash anything thats not stock using Odin. You can flash stock ROM and kernel and your bin count will still be 0. (If it was 0 in the first place. xP)

1)If U just simply root.. thn just unroot
2)If u root nd install sum custom rom.. flash a stock rom using odin(flashing via odin unroots automatically).. make it just like what they sold to u!
3)If root, flash a custom kernel nd whatevr which increased ur bin count! flash doky's bin count reset.. thn do whatevr I said in 2!
Just return it like they sold to u.. that's the main thing! Make sure they donno about the nasty things u did to it ever!

I would wait, there's really not enough out yet to take the risk. The odds are pretty high something will go wrong if you aren't experienced. I'm waiting for the pros to get the kinks worked out and some solid builds to come out, like cyanogen ICS or something. Might be a while lol, but I'll have a working phone. And this thing is pretty awesome out of the box (except for that CIQ BS and the tethering nonsense ).
Good luck !

I am in urgent need of a help. I say step by step what happened.
i was happy with note 2 (non- root) until new update of came jelly bean came. after new update my note 2 keep on restarting and freezes. so i decide to root. i rooted with the tool kit. everything went well. and i put the custom rom alliance. all was well until yesterday. I first thought this to be a pixel problem...but my download mode view have no problems. so i thought like why cant i put a custom rom which is installable via odin...but that too failed and was showing no pit file... found a pit file from N7100_OXA_N7100XXDLJ2. but when i try the pit file fail. There is no way in SDS they ever come to know you had custom ROM, as your flash counter is 'No' except yourself acknowledge them.
you have to just say it was fine untill night, when morning i look to it there was no life in device, thats it.
You will get device just like it was came box packed without any your data.

Yes thats possible. However, Your warranty will still be considered void if they find a custom rom on your device...so I dont get it?
Youll need both 0 Binary count and a Stock rom.
Yes i know but if the can't see this like with a SDS they will probably not see the custom ROM because not be able to flash. Im afraid of bricked issue. I mean if i cannot flash anymore. It's better to have counter reset instead of having nothing.
So it's better for me to reset counter even if I'm with custom rom? Is there a tutorial in my case rom custom + custom kernel?

Two words. Triangle Away.
The tutorial is the same whether with stock/rooted or custom/rooted. The only difference is you'll need to check "reset on boot" with Triangle Away to keep the counter from reading 1.
Thanks guys.

But if i do it before flash stock. I will have to do it again after flash stock Rom??

Just uninstall Triangle Away AFTER you've reverted back to stock and unrooted and the counter should remain 0 and read official.
If you haven't had the phone that long, why not do a dry run from stock/unrooted to custom/rooted and then back to stock/rooted (with Triangle Away installed and doing its job of course) and see for yourself.
Thanks bro

Just keep mind the community also expects you to use the search function or learn from many existing tutorials here and the internet in general.
If you think you have a problem, chances are many other people have experienced the same and a thread may already exist.

here is some possible ways
-Having custom kernel/recovery, still yo can reset counter but for that you need play store version of triangle away, which have option to reset counter at every boot. again to remember you need custom kernel which support this function. this will help you if your device brick in a way when no normal boot is possible (still i doubt any existing custom kernel offers it)
- If device still able to boot normally and you have custom kernel/recovery, you can flash stock kernel and recovery and after that you can reset counter.
-For stock kernel and recovery, you can reset triangle(needs root) and can uninstall triangle away. whenever you need to claim warranty just unroot it.
Last option is safest way who are worrying about warranty.
one more good thing is that, most common cause of brick is SDS, we already have fix for that, though unfortunately someone gets SDS, i have seen lots of cases when even presence of custom kernel/recovery, hardly bootloader can detect it b'coz of emmc read failure and warranty remains intact. in fact i have seen only one case of SDS where download mode showing flash binary count non zero, though i was not ready to believe it was SDS (history what i remember is, one guy have posted here, his GF have got device bricked and claim was rejected b'coz of raised flash counter, her device needed to replace mobo that's it. no further information was there and hard to believe it was SDS by just this much information)

Thanks a lot for these details!
I use the perseus kernel andi don't know if he can use the auto reset counter with triangle away?
But if i understand what you said (sorry for my bad english speaking) almost all of the SDS will not avoid the warranty. If it's not a SDS I'm supposed to flash again with download mode?
Si should i try triangle away with perseus kernel?
Thanks again!
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Better ask on perseus forum if this option available, b'coz you have to purchase triangle away from market for that. Though it's welcome if you this way want to support developers.
Another your question possibility of Flashing in non sds case, that is really depends on types of brick you have. Though just flashing is not enough, you need to flash stock kernel and recovery as well you should have device working (booting) normally, bcoz triangle away needs normal booting device. So in case of brick I don't think you may get chance.
Simple advice
If you really worrying about flash counter and warranty, then keep stock maximum use root with reseting counter
Or
Let leave on luck and enjoy custom stuff.

In order to go back to original state of your phone, you need to use Odin to flash stock rom. Find the official rom for your country and use Odin to flash it. There is an how to in either general or development sections here in xda forums.

True if you give your phone to service center with a custom ROM like CM10, they may reject your warranty claim. However, with flashing the stock ROM via odin you should be fine since it makes everything as it was when you bought the phone.
Just make sure you follow the steps in howto threads carefully. It might be a good idea to wipe system etc. in CWM before getting the phone in download mode to flash via Odin.
Good luck on your warranty claim and I sure agree with you on bloating battery not being your fault.

thanks to all for your answer, I call a samsung service center and they answer me that usually they don't cover battery with warranty, maybe in some case, within 6 months, they can make a favor and change it, but my battery is finally out of warranty (very strange thing!).. I'll find it on other channels, so I can have my phone back in one week
Even if battery is out of warranty, you can buy a replacement for a cheap price. They are not that expensive. It will save you the hassle of waiting for the service center. On top of that, you don't have to flash the stock rom.

SDS precaution....

Hello guys.. I just needed some help before my phone dies with the Sudden Death Syndrome..
I had the eMMC check done and it states my phone has an insane chip... clearly means it can get affected...
I am on omega v17 rom... with perseus kernel.. everything is good till now.. better working with the custom rom and kernel..
But the real question I wanto ask is should I give the phone for replacement for the new motherboard.. ?? My current emmc checkup states
Type - VTU00M
FwRev - 0xf1
And after replacement I'll get
FwRev - 0xf7
So should I replace my piece before it gets fried???
My binary count is 3 at present so should I reset that too before approaching the service center??
Please help...

Just b sure not to flash the latest modem rom as if emei goes missing than you will be another mess than solve that rather flash http://www.hotfile.com/dl/203112196/98a0ae2/N7100XXDMC3_N7100ODDDMD1_INU.zip.html version(non rooted), http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230250 (rooted version) and you are good to go stock rom will get u stock recovery than use traingle away to get your flash counter 0 make sure you enable usb debugging
create efs backup while in stock rom to keep your phone safe from probs if it arise later due to any custom rom flashing
So I'll flash this one to be safe... after flashing wil reset the counter using triangle away app.. and then to be more safer I'll unroot from the super user app..
Are the steps correct??

yes it is just flash and reset counter . remember to unroot and check the device status if its normal bfr taking to sc
They will not replace it unless you experience the effects of sds. Your in safe hands as long as your not in version 4.1.1. Don't worry to much.
But I cant just stay on stock rom and stock kernel till I start getting problems... I mean to say once affected by sds I wil not be able to get in recovery mode to flash the stock things again...
I'll give it a try... lets see wat they say at sc

or maybe this can be risky but u can make ur phone die via sds and send it to service center?!?!
Hahah... I cant make my die on purpose.. well I'll do a thing.. I'll wait till I get symptoms of sds like lagging freezing n reboots. . Then immediately I'll flash everything to stock n approach sc
