Best N64 Emulator - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Anyone have any tips? I've read that all the good market ones get taken down regularly.
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

N64oid its been pulled off the market for years but the developer has the apk for free. Pretty much everyone I've tried since is just a kang of it that's why they get pulled as well

Are you sure the apk is available free? Because it's available for $5 on SlideME, and the dev is still updating it. All of his other emulators are there too, but they haven't been receiving any updates.

Yongzh is still charging $5 for n64oid, but his other emulators are free on slideme.org.
Edit: n64oid is the best you'll get. Mupen64plus is getting there, but still behind in terms of performance.

I got it off roms4droid haven't checked lately but it was free when I got it had a explanation of being pissed at the Google market and it was free real64 was 5$
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium

IIRC Yongzh was using Open-Source code against its licensing agreement and charging for it.
Note how it was Yongzh's and other hastily repackaged emulators that were taken off the market last year while most of their free (note that Yongzh's other emulators did no become Free until they were taken off Play Market), direct ported counterparts are still on the market.

Reason of Mupen64Plus AE takedown (in case someone uses it), might be possible that other emulators were taken down the same way: http://www.paulscode.com/forum/index.php?topic=303.0
That's how Google takes care about actual developers which don't violate anything: By taking down them with DMCA.

+1 for n64oid -
I made a video on how to get roms/emulators (including n64oid) on the Galaxy Nexus:

Accidental thanks errrr lol. This is the Xperia Play Exclusive Version we can run it on our Epic, but the second we commit an action on hw keyboard the app can crash and or freeze depending on the state of our Ram. The Play has functions on it's slideout that would be wayyyyyyyy to hard to map onto any qwerty phone.
Sent from my Epic 4G
Ok but if that's the case we do have the gamepad for our epics would there be a way mod it to get it to work with the gamepad?

The Xperia Play has two independent gamepads(like analog sticks but flat) on it if I'm correct which make multidirection movement possible on the device in games. The issue isn't mapping the keys it's the fact that the functions to map the keys don't exist outside of the Play's inner frameworks. Or Sony for that matter. People have used Bluetooth and used PS3 remotes but certain things didn't work. Our Phone doesn't contain the bluetooth stack to do that. They're "supposed" to be bringing it to the rest of Android but companies like Nvidia and other processor manafacturers have fragmented android gaming. Harshly.
I just saw of video of a minecraft pocket edition coming to all android the 29! Search it on youtube

They just launched it.
They just launched the version for all phones.
Just downloaded it and it works great on the epic, although when switching to "fancy graphics mode" I notice a little lag.
Here are the market links
Full Verison (6.99)
Demo Version (Free but some features are left out)

No lag for me.
The game still needs a lot of work before moving to mobile devices.
They definitely need to add Survival Mode in and have keyboard functionality.
I just wasted two hours playing that building a house and accompanying lawn

Certain parts of my touch screen become unresponsive after using it requiring a restart.

I played with the demo a little bit. It is nice if you want to build a quick house while waiting for something in the real world. I wouldn't buy the full version though.

Notch released Minecraft for Android. I purchased it and it is just like the original. Crafting is not an option yet, it is just like the original Alpha launch. There is also no survival mode yet, but it is found on the market.
I played it a little, the demo anyways, and it didn't seem that there was much to do, but it is just released so no complaints. Hopefully they will let you connect to public minecraft servers soon
The need to put crafting also =P

What is the point of minecraft? I watched the video on the game's webpage called "This is Minecraft" and it doesn't explain why anyone would play....let alone pay for this.
Is it multi-player? It looks like a "Sims" type game but with atari graphics.

Anyone get pvz, peggle or Bejeweled 2 working? Workaround?

Upon firing up my nexus, I was disappointed to learn that these three titles will not work from the market. Titles in which I bought with money. Money that I worked to earn. Anyway, any help would be great cause ea is darn worthless when it comes to helping paying customers.

The market tells me that 'my device is not compatible with this version'.
Anyone got peggle, Bejeweled 2 and pvz apk's hanging around that they can email me? Pm me please for info. I bought these games ages ago and they have not updated the apps for ics. Contacting them is impossible, I sent an email that sent me to a site which was USELESS.

PvZ that I downloaded from Amazon works fine on ICS. Haven't tested the other 2 games yet because I think they're stupid.

or vainly sacrificing said friends to save yourself :]
anyway hows the adds with glu mobile?
there usually fine on paid games but their free-to-play stuff can be invasive
and for 6 bucks I worry
At first it didn't work for me but then I flashed a different ROM and all is well. It works great on the latest version of black bean.

I'm requesting a refund doesn't work. Used my 25 dollar gift from Google. Normally I would not spend money on a game, but son is really into zombies.

How's the gameplay and visuals for those who have gotten it to install
Its not bad but does require a WiFi connection to play it I guess.. And yes in my experience some games don't work on certain ROMs for some reason I had the same issue with plants vs zombies back in the day

Warez Discussions
Ok people,
Just a reminder not to go into Warez discussions. We all "know" you can get these at many Warez sites. And if they don't work, well, good
XDA prohibits Warez, Warez Links, Links to paid apps, Posting of paid apps, Including paid apps in roms, and any discussion of Warez Apps.
Just a reminder.

Google Play vs app store for games?

So do you guys think Google Play will ever be on par with the apple app store? I know they are close in amount of apps in total but I feel like android doesn't get as much games or much support for some of the games. Also, their amount of total apps mostly come from themes and keyboards it seems. I can also name many apps/games from big developers that are missing from android. It sucks its like this with this amazing phone. You would think developers would like to up their customers and support android devices. Why do developers do this? Do they do this because it's easier to get cracked apps on Android without jailbreaking? Is it that much work to change code? Is apple just a test market?

This is not about piracy or support for it. It's about apple app store vs Google Play store and asking a serious question of why android doesn't get support or game development like apple app store. The issue of piracy was raised as a question for seeing if it was a reason for developers to avoid android.

Also I felt this was a general discussion topic other than a Q& A board post.

And most of Apple's apps comes from fart apps. Usually there is something at least comparable on the android play store. But both systems require different coding, and also you have so many phones on so many different versions of android, which probably also causes compatibility issues. That's the one advantage Apple has, is their whole system is in house, phone and os, where as Android is put out by almost every other manufacturer there is, and they all put on whatever version of Android the want to.
Sadly when it comes to games there isn't usually a comparable version if android doesn't have it. Is it really much of a task/cost for a developer/team to recode and up their customer base? Is it much different from windows on many different types of computers and versions of windows being able to run the same game/app?

I think you're in a very small minority that feels as though there aren't as many apps or games in the Play Store as in the app store. Polished apps may be an issue (although it is not for me), but I haven't heard too many people complaining about lack of apps compared to Apple.

This thread is unbelievable. I can do so much more with an Android phone than an iPhone. I don't even need apps to fulfill what I need and want in a smartphone. If you haven't noticed android is taking over the smartphone market not because of those stupid apps the App Store has.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
I have no problem with the Google play store, and I used to be on an iPhone. And if you can't usually find something comparable, then you aren't looking hard enough. Yes, some of the ones made for iOS you may not find a counterpart on the play store, but I think that margin is dwindling. Google's play store is now growing at a faster rate than the Apple app store. It's just a matter of time.
Just to name some
Gems with friends and some other zygna games not avaliable
Popcap games aren't usually as up to date as other devices
Alot of adult swim games aren't avaliable (ie amateur surgeon)
Minigore
The Sims games
Psychopedia
These are just a few random apps that aren't supported or not on play store

Ps this isn't about comparing phone to phone just asking a question about why Google isn't getting the games. I should of been more clear and stated games and not utility apps/phone enhancements. Also if this us a thread you don't like or think is lame or beneath you don't post or read it.

It could be that Apple has exclusivity rights to a game for a certain amount of time as well, kind of like Xbox and Playstation. Usually one will have exclusive DLC content, or have it before the other for a certain amount of time. Like back when Sony had exclusive rights to a couple of the GTA games for a year or two. It sucks, but that's really the decision of the company making the app. Like I said, the Play Store is growing faster than the App Store is now, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time. (I did see The Sims on the play store, by the way)

The Apple App Store sucks. When my wife got an iPhone a couple of years ago, I tried to find some battery saving apps. Nothing. Then I tried to find something that could turn off wifi and bluetooth automatically. Nothing. If you're looking for anything that will help your phone do anything, they got nothing. If you find an app that you think might work, good luck finding a free one...
Themes and keyboards etc are great, that's how you make your phone your own. In the Apple App Store, nothing.
However, if you're looking for an app to make fart noises, you have 30 pages to sift through, but they're all $4.99
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I'll admit app store sucks for utilities and customization but that's apple control freak issues so you'd have to use 3rd party sources like cydia for that stuff. But for games app store gets more and more support for those games. Example plants vs zombies is missing a lot of the features like mini games that app store has. App store is a better gaming store even though android is a better os/has better phones.

DraStic DS emulator

I just wanted to put my 2 cents out there just in case some other members of the community or anyone who googles info about the emulator are looking for opinions about the app.
It is awesome and you should purchase it.
It runs literally all the games I've tried at full speed (pokemon, all the Mario franchise games, golden sun etc.)
The developers push updates frequently and respond to emails.
Its honestly worth the money considering how much you'd pay for an actual DS.
No links because its a paid app and that's frowned upon in our community but you can easily find it on the play store.

Will give it a try bro...:good::good:
It's the best emu I have ever tried, you can play any game without lag and you have the option for cheats (if you want them) that automatically are there for every game I tried.
Is there anyway to get the emulator free?
