Hey guys,
I obtained the phone through vodafone Australia and im running a custom rom (LeeDroid 4.0). Its based on build 1.28. My question is do I still have to obtain the Vodafone 1.28 OTA or does the LeeDroid 4.0 Rom pretty much include it??
cheers,
roms will eventually be updated, read the changelog

Hi,
my brand new desire hd says no ota update found (your phone is up to date). I'm in Italy.
android version 2.2
kernel 2.6.32.21
build 1.32.405.6
My phone is really up to date? If no, how i can update my rom without the htc ota service?
Thanks guys for the assistance

htc has stop the OTA for 2.2.1 with build 1.72 because of several issue.
so your desire HD will stuck on that build, until there is a release version of it.
But there are also some other user get the new build 1.83 update recently, but only a few (maybe from selected region only).
but, it you really want the 2.2.1 (or gingerbread 2.3) , you can flash custom rom available here (at Development thread) e.g: Android Revolution HD, LeeDroid or CM7, better than stock rom.
Hi all,
What is the point of waiting for the official JB to come out by OTA, compared to the JB roms now available on xda (ordroid 7.1.0 for example). Is it more stable because it is from HTC, is there a real benefit?
Which evokes my next question, where do the custom roms get their base from? Is this base the same as the official JB update I have been waiting for?

Jb roms now works only if you have HBOOT 1.31 and some users are waiting for their compatible firmware to be able to upgrade their HBOOT... The custom roms take their base from RUUs and OTAs
Hi.
As much as I really like the xda forums, I am having real trouble searching for my answer. Maybe I am thinking illogically!
I am in U.K. on Vodafone.
My CID is VODAP001
Android version 4.0.4
HTC Sense version 4.1
I have installed Android Revolution HD 9.4.1
If relevant, my HTC SDK API level is 4.23
In a nutshell, I am hoping to install JB update - either the official Vodafone one, or possibly Revolution (if I can figure out if that is fully functional for my device).
I hoped that Vodafone would have released the OTA update before now. But I don't know if my install of Revo is stopping my device from automatically looking for updates.
I thought I would be able to go to settings/about/software and search for updates, but that option doesn't seem to be available (is Revolution switching this feature off?)
So:
Is it worth me trying to roll back to stock, and manually check for updates periodically?
(If so, please could someone point me to a recent no brainer post on how to do this?)
Or:
Does the latest JB release of Revolution work with my model/network?
(If so, do I need to roll back to stock and start from scratch, or can I "update" my current version.
Whilst I am not totally noob to all this, I do find it slightly daunting, and I can't always tell which threads are the most relevant or up to date, so please excuse me if my questions are obvious to you. I just find that after a while on XDA I have loads of tabs and it all gets a bit backwardy and forwardy!
Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
Your CID has not yet received the official HTC jellybean update. This means that you will NOT be able to get an update from vodafone and also you wont be able to flash Android revollution HD 17.0 (Jellybean).
You will have to wait for HTC to roll out the official JB update for your device.
And none of the custom ROMS (including ARHD 17.0) support OTA update feature. You can update your device OTA ONLY and ONLY if you are on stock ROM, stock recovery and stock kernel.

There are custom ROMs that support OTA, but ARHD is not one.
Hello everybody,
i hope my Question is simple, my friend have a HOX with O2 brand and like to root his device for custom roms. My question is, can he install every ROM included the Jelly Bean ROMS. He made the last OTA and his Device runs on hboot 1.36 but he doesn't have the supported CID. Is this needed anymore since the last OTA?
greetings ShrekDTH
Re: [Q] HTC ONE X Will not boot and wont turn off
Provided that you have hboot 1.36, you can flash every ROM out there.
Restrictions apply to AOSP 4.1.2 ROMs, you'll need a special boot.img in order to flash them.
Ok, thx for your answer, my Friend would be happy to hear this
