Hello everybody,
i hope my Question is simple, my friend have a HOX with O2 brand and like to root his device for custom roms. My question is, can he install every ROM included the Jelly Bean ROMS. He made the last OTA and his Device runs on hboot 1.36 but he doesn't have the supported CID. Is this needed anymore since the last OTA?
greetings ShrekDTH
Re: [Q] HTC ONE X Will not boot and wont turn off
Provided that you have hboot 1.36, you can flash every ROM out there.
Restrictions apply to AOSP 4.1.2 ROMs, you'll need a special boot.img in order to flash them.
Ok, thx for your answer, my Friend would be happy to hear this

hey guys,
i'm kinda new to whole android stuff - i have a desire HD stock ROM, no modifications. I'm really interested in flashing it to "android revolution 3.1". So, i read the guides about how to flash rom's.
My only open question is: How can i go back to stock ROM? The Desire HD is running 1.72 atm, and i maybe want to get back to it, if i'm unhappy with custom rom. I read about RUU, but i can't find a RUU for DHD 1.72. It's an unbranded DHD. Would be nice if someone here could help me.
greets!
afaik there are no 1.7x RUU's out.
the 1.7x was just a FOTA of the older 1.3x .
just get your (branded/notbranded) RUU of the 1.3x .
should be fine though.

I m sure you won't want to get back to stock after you get your hands on custom roms
But anyways you ll find 1.72.xx RUU here: http://xdafil.es/index.php?path=DesireHD/RUU/
Plus you ll have a backup of your stock ROM before you flash a new rom. So should not be any problem anyway.
Hi,
so I´m stuck on cm10 because I cant update the bootloader to 1.23 according to the app "JOX".
So if you got a branded one x you can only stay on the original version or install cm10.
All other roms ( maximus, insertcoin, android revolution, ... ) need a higher bootloader than I have.
But I would like to try other 4.1 roms which are stable.
Isnt working for me right?
for sense 4.1 you must have european no-brand phone, if you're branded you can't install it. about other roms i really don't know, i think you can install them anyway.
and why can't you update your bootloader? i have 0.95 still and i can install everything on it.. and it's quite old bootloader
ok then I will try viper rom ( instead if maximus and insertcoin )
Thanks for your answer!
Hello
I browse this forum for a long time, but now i need to ask u something.
I have One x from orange, with CID ORANGB10 and hboot 0.96.0000. I tried to install new liqid rom (jellybean) and i think every think works fine. So my question is
Can i install every jelly bean rom? or maybe i didnt saw what's not working.
One more thing that bothers me, on this rom my phone drain 6% battery for hour! is it normal?
Few weeks ago when i looked on some jellybean roms i saw something like "if your cid is not supported dont install this rom" now i don't see that. why?
Thank for any helps!

You can install any AOSP/KP rom but not Jellybean sense rom ast your phone is branded. You will need to wait for your carrier to release the JB update so you can have the correct HBOOT to flash a custom ROM.
Hey Fellaz,
another noob, another question:
I'm kinda getting into the process to root my device and install a custom ROM, which in my case will be Slim Bean.
But first I want to wait for the official JB Update via OTA and after that i want to root my phone and install the custom ROM.
My Question won't be how to do it, don't worry.
Here it goes:
When i receive the update, will the rooting process be any different from when you do it on ICS ? I mean there are lots of guides on the internet, how to flash fastboot and CWM and so on.
There are links to fastboot, to the htc drivers, to the CWM, the files you need to do that. My Question is, will those be outdated when you have JB or does all stay the same ?
The same for Slim Bean, will the flashing process stay the same if I have official JB or will the files change which i need to use (hboot and stuff) ? I just coudn't find information if all the necessary files only run if you go from ICS>JB.
In my case i will be going from official JB>custom JB rom.
Jesus my english sucks when i'm excited, sorry !
Thanks in advance and have a nice day !
Nope....nothing changed. All in the same way
thanks for the reply !
And what will be about the hboot, if I get the official JB update, will there still be a need to chance hboot in order to flash Slim Bean ?
Don't think so, slim bean is a JB rom ? And after the update you will be on a JB hboot ...well that's clear as glass i think
alright thanks, yes Slim Bean is an AOSP based JB rom
As I saw in the JB Thread there will be a problem and in the second post of the JB discussion thread, it says that out there is only 1 rom which supports the hboot version coming with the JB Update.
So what's the truth now ? Can't anyone make a clear statement ?
Hi guys
A while back I switched from ICS to JB with ARHD(15.0), it required flashing a new firmware. later on I flashed CM10. anyway, I was runing JB that time with hboot 1.31.
A few days ago I flashed the venom rom but I didnt realize it was ICS until I saw the new JB ROM.
here is the problem, in the venom thread "Check if you CID is supported, visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1957376 for updates:
As I recall back I updated my firmware from that thread by mike and it had my CID which is J_15 but its not there anymore
SO can I flash the venom JB rom or I should wait for the CID???
thanks guys and im sorry for the typos
Your hboot 1.31 should support the new venom JB rom.
You have to have a compatible CID just so that you can upgrade your hboot. And since you are already on a JB ROM, your hboot is already upgraded. Flash away.
