Sound manger setup help please - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm writing this cause I've tried everything to make my music sound perfect. I only listen to metal and some grunge rock. Can some post a pic or tell me what's the perfect or have a deep clean bass when the metal breakdown happens. I use dsp manager and I use power amp full version and I want a the best setup. Please and thank you.

This I believe is a matter of opinion. What sounds good to me MAY NOT sound good to you. My suggestion is to play around with DSPManager until you get the right setting for YOU because in the end, is YOU that needs to like it

Use an app called equalizer the proversion allows you to save custom presets you can turn it on and off and it works really well and has 2 Widgets with the power button on them, I've been using it for a while and can get better sound from it with a cheap pair of radioactive earbuds than I get out of my beats headphones with the beats audio processor in my laptop

IMO, don't use DSP Manager at all if you want the best sound. It's a software enhancer, which means it's digitally enhancing the sound, making you think it's better, but in actuality it's just distorting it.

+1 on this
This is extremely noticeable on high end audio equipment (and no I don't mean beats headphones)
I just went out and bought a small amp for my headphones and all is well again
~ I'm a fungi

I have skull candy headphones but I've use the equalizers apps from the market but didn't have the bass I like I had before with cm7. Question is is it possible to put Sony brava engine into gingerbread by taking out the sense?

PowerAMP settings?

Okay so I am wondering what people have as their powerAMP EQ settings to see what's the best. Any ideas?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
mine is set on the rock eq with the tone disabled
Mine is set on rock with tone on and the treble all the way up with some bose headphones sound great
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I have the dr Dre beats. Choosing rock + putting bass and treble all the way up seems good except for songs with already high BASS. I might put the preamp up but this songs way better than just cranking everything up.

I've been hearing a lot about that app. I think I might buy it.
Swyped From Eva Running Myn's RLS4.95 On The Now Network!
IMHO I think it is definitely worth the money. Better than stock and somewhat better than mixzing. If it loaded the album art like mixzing and have a cooler widget it would be perfect.

I use the rock setting also.
i use the rock setting and customize it to have the bass/treble setting in there as well by putting up the bass and treble a bit... WAAAAY better than the stock app, i love this one.
i think its easily one of the best apps on the market.

The icon can be modded which I might do after I get poweramp
The icon looks good. It is the widgets and lock screen widget I don't like.

You can modify those also
How do you do that?
from my EVO using XDA app.
Sorry for not adding much different here, but I found the stock app to be way too limited for my tastes - sound is okay but I love a good tweak and the stock has nothing.
I'd say to anyone wondering if it's worth it, simple answer: YES!
Even before playing with any settings this app has a richer quality to it. Then there's all those options if that's your bag of course.
To get back on topic though; I've assigned the Rock Equ (Tone on, Limit on, Bass about 3/4 and Treble cranked to Max) to Wired Headset but have on the odd occasion also assigned other settings to individual songs as needed. Assigning different settings to Speaker, Wired, BT or Song - Seriously awesome option!
Now if only I could find a set of phones that allowed me to use the in-line volume controls, any suggestions?

[Q] dsp manager vs. sony xloud

Which one is better and why?
Or will both benefit in unique ways?
Power amp. Give it a shot. Best player sound i have found.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
when I had my vibrant I was using poweramp.
Now, with the S2, I removed the stock music player.
And use ubermusic player combined with the equalizer app.
Personally I have no interest in XLoud or Beats.
DSP Manager is perfect, light weight, and easily surpasses the two in functionality. It just needs to be configured right.
Numerous threads state that these two are a placebo / more of a gimmick. From personal use I have to agree. A waste of resources.
BRAVIA engine however is quite a different story
I like player pro, it's pure and no changes to the sound.

Thanks. But I was more concerned with speaker volume and speaker quality and not equalizer stuff or headphone quality. I heard xloud tries to prevent the speakers from sounding tinny but rather more fuller and louder. DSP achieve the same and more is what you are saying?
Does BRAVIA engine makes the video quality look better or the video to perform better (less choppiness or shutter)?
Power amp has it's own dsp

Best Equalizer App w/BeatsByDre?

I've had my Detox edition Pros for a while now but I'm constantly trying different equalizer apps
(currently using the stock one from CM10 Google Music)
I was just wondering if you guys use an equalizer , which one do you use and state which type of headphones you are using

I'm using Equalizer with Skullcandy Hesh headphones, the boost in audio is very noticible and it offers presets along with effects like bass booster and virtualizer.

Best Audio Mod for LGOG

There are quite a couple of audio mods for the LGOG, I would like to know which one do you guys prefer best?
I currently have the Beat audio mod but I only chose this I had great experience with this mod before.
Are the other mods any better?
Please share your comments.

I found that incorporating the beats Audio scripted in my old s2 always outrageously distorted the bass, even while using beats Audio headphones. Now I just use power amp and it does the trick

I tried so many mods like acid and beat but the best so far is power amp like kmull4 said. You get powerful bass and rich highs. It actually adds more power to those Hz.
I've only used Acid +nooxide and love it. As long as you don't push the effects too hard. The" wider" sound option is actually achieved by manipulating phase coherency which if overdone will result in some may nasty sounding audio. I'm curious about power amp. Are you guys dust using the built in eq settings on the app?
Ps: I'm an audio engineer so I'm always looking for the best sound possible
Yeah built in. Way better than DPS manager

For me yes. I've used a lot of music apps and I feel that this is the best one. Although in your case being an audio engineer, you might want to check out jet audio in the play store. It has more options to change the sound.

Are you really surprised that Beats distorts bass with all the artificial bass added in for no reason in the first place?

Lol no I'm not, but I read that some people claimed it gave them better clarity. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for me

Thanks for the heads up on jet. I'll check that it out for sure. The ui is kinda meh though but that's secondary to the sound IMO. I am really digging noozy player. Especially the podcast section. That's a nice feature.

I have really good headphones that support a high current/voltage. I put up the dB on the DPS manager and it gets distorted. With the poweramp it does make the freq. more clear and powerful.
Poweramp and good headphones are all I've needed for clarity. Even without fiddling with EQ the clarity is good.

[REQ] Volume

I need a mod which increases the loudness of the one by at least twice.. I no there is already a mod here.. But it doesn't suit my needs.. Is there any other mod I can use? Or probably any app? Thanks...

You could flash and try the boomsound mod or flash PureXaudio, it really does improve the sound and makes it louder.

2 x's louder kiss your speakers good bye
I have an s2... Which has had its volume increased by quite a lot.. And its lowest is like the max I would get before flashing that mod.. It works perfectly fine.. No damage to the speakers.. And if that phone can handle it.. I am sure this one can surely do..

The Devs and app designers on here have a fairly good idea of the max levels of the boomsound speakers,as the speakers pass their optimal performance level, sound ehancements and audio boosting mods simply distort the speakers.....until they go POP, there was a mod being worked on a while ago, where we trialed different adjustments to various files to improve loudness and quality and tested multiple music players, recording sound level(db) output, the loudest music player, with greatest adjustment was PowerAmp, full version, dunno if this helps, just my offering
Ill have a look to see if the guy is still working on files, or whether or not its workable with the new updated 4.2 onwards
ok here's the thread, not been updated recently - but Justin hasnt got his phone sorted yet - have a little look HERE may be what your after or may help
