Cm9 Tablet mode/Hybrid UI - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I saw this on phandroid first introduced to the galnex.
I know we just got the unofficial cm9 and don't even have fully functional Aosp build or AOKP builds yet. But is any of our devs interested in this? It looks very interesting and I think with the size of the screen that our phones come in, it could be very nice on our Hercules.
Heres the mod for the epic 4g touch

yeah i'm more than interested. working on figuring out how to do this with smali and xml edits. tough without source. we'll see where i can go with this. if any other devs want to lend a hand hit me up.

cool man! glad to see a solid dev interested in this. im excited!

@ Starskyrob, I hope you do look into this and try to get it 100% working with our phones. I went to the link and flashed the tablet ui mod. With success I might add! It looks real nice, I didnt flash no kernel. Just used rom toolbox to set dpi to 128, then rebooted in recovery, flashed the file, clear dalvik, fixed permissions, reboot and done! We do have some very minor issues, but this could be due to our cm9 not being all the way done yet. Anyways, good luck on that and have fun...

I wonder if ravers rc9 would work with this?

The one in the link in the OP, from the epic touch forum. The cm9 zip. For some reason it worked. I had to clear cache and dalvik and fix permissions as well. And then clear the data on non responsive apps.

Yea it works for me too but when I back it up and then try to restore coming from another rom, the lock screen glitches then it goes into the boot animation and stays there. Any help?

Could you make flashable zips similar to what you have done with the Nav buttons? That way you could support more Roms.

Simple because our phones are not supposed to have ICS yet. The first ICS leak came FOR TMOBILE about 2 weeks ago until that time we were using AT&T so we now have a compatible version of ICS. The developers are great they made a OS from another phone work on ours, now that they have the correct structure for T-Mobile give them some time they have lives too ya know, Darkside has a good stable rom and constantly improving it. ICS is about 93% fully functional now on our phones, and remember roms cut much of the bloat out that we dont need, etc.otherwise buy a Nexus

A work around for the UNDERWATER effect on t989

First off, shoutout to mr. Tdizzle for initiating the trend. (If your out there hehe.. btw your homer simpson avatar was way better imo.)
Anyway, I've tested this with AOKP and CM9 so far. AND CONFIRMED call quality is much better. No call echo and especially no dreaded UNDERWATER effect.
I'm just getting it out there for those who have not yet known this fact.
1. Flash a skyrocket rom.
2. Flash gapps.
3. Flash the rotation fix.
4. Reboot.

Well the skyrocket kernel has the auto rotation reversed which could explain the nature of the programming embedded in the skyrocket kernel. I can't explain but I believe the skyrocket kernel is reversing something for the microphones which is resulting in correct projection and reflection of sounds for our phone. But I'm only speculating.

I could port it to the Sprint S3 and upload it in this thread if anyone wants to test it. Call audio should be the only bug, well if there's any bugs in CM10 those will be present too.

well im personally using aokp right now. it takes care of a lot of the cm10 bugs and it has a few customizations that i really enjoy already baked in (i.e. center clock and circlemod battery). the main reason i want the paranoid android is the in depth ui changing. and with jellybean now having 3 different uis baked in id love to go through and tinker with all of that. i really want the 7inch notification bar ui and the tablet camera ui ( i love the option wheel look). but just like it was mentioned earlier, more roms is never a bad thing but the only way i see me giving up aokp is for some PA love lol
Yup it is pretty badass

1. Cm10.1- obvious(it is being worked on so no need to comment)
2. Cm9 im in air on this one. Its ics which we have but we should get jb very very soon.
3. Latest stock pimped out with aroma. If many dont know about aroma roms, its basically a customizable rom that lets you build your own version with tons and tons of options. I will of course be adding many many many addons to the current list.
4. Skinny revisted.

The thing I want most is CM 10.1. Now, my question is what about LTE? I know it was a massive effort to get wimax working with cm7/9 on the evo/evo 3d. If LTE won't be working then my next choice is a slimmed down stock rom with performance/battery mods, lightly themed. And a nice kernel to go with it
