[Q] How come the ICS we have isn't fully optimized like Galaxy Nexus?

No access to settings from notification bar and different toggles..
Is the only reason HD2's ICS rom is better is because it's running CM9, is that what makes all the difference? Because it'd be convenient if we had the features this rom had

Ours is leaked and has tw... It's not the vanilla one. We would need source. Cm9 requires source, but they're working on it regardless. You're probably looking for aokp. Check that out

Simple because our phones are not supposed to have ICS yet. The first ICS leak came FOR TMOBILE about 2 weeks ago until that time we were using AT&T so we now have a compatible version of ICS. The developers are great they made a OS from another phone work on ours, now that they have the correct structure for T-Mobile give them some time they have lives too ya know, Darkside has a good stable rom and constantly improving it. ICS is about 93% fully functional now on our phones, and remember roms cut much of the bloat out that we dont need, etc.otherwise buy a Nexus

Sence 4.0 ported to a Samsung

Now I know its the International GS2 but still pretty interesting to see that a sense 4.0 ROM is booting on a Samsung see it here and there just might be hope for our beloved T989

I honestly forgot about it... Uploading it now into the Dev Section were it can die or be worked on..

it boots that's about it... I stopped working on it after I got it to boot... I think it was about the time I got CM7 working good & forgot about it.

Paranoid Android ROM?

was just curious if anyone has caught wind of port of paranoid android rom coming to the sprint gs3. ive seen it on the international and the verizon one. id love to be able to pick between the 3 different uis on this phone. thanx in advance. and befor anyone flames, yes i did use search lol

super excited for this as well but patient. While some had the s3 since initial launch over a month ago. Many have only had the phone for 2 to 3 weeks. It will happen give it time.

I've ported it to the AT&T S3 but haven't made a thread for it yet because I have one bug left in it, call audio doesn't work. I could port it to the Sprint S3 and upload it in this thread if anyone wants to test it. Call audio should be the only bug, well if there's any bugs in CM10 those will be present too.

well im personally using aokp right now. it takes care of a lot of the cm10 bugs and it has a few customizations that i really enjoy already baked in (i.e. center clock and circlemod battery). the main reason i want the paranoid android is the in depth ui changing. and with jellybean now having 3 different uis baked in id love to go through and tinker with all of that. i really want the 7inch notification bar ui and the tablet camera ui ( i love the option wheel look). but just like it was mentioned earlier, more roms is never a bad thing but the only way i see me giving up aokp is for some PA love lol

nope we should get 4.2.2 because samsung has stated that is the last update any galaxy s 2 will get but we have yet to get 4.1.2 as it looks now we might be stuck on 4.0.4 forever

Edit: k...got too excited....I'm on 4.1.2 TW. but yes...lots of 4.2.2 roms on aosp. I think 4.2.2 tw also....but with bad issues....if I'm not mistaken.

i personally dont want to ask for an eta because i dont even ask the devs here for those (nor will i ever ) but if they would at least say " hey we are working on it and here are the problems we are having" saying that would be such a nice gesture and maybe some devs would help out so they could hurry up and push the update

The t989 devs have put out a literal tonne of jb roms already.
And if you are talking about xda devs helping get official jb out....well.....I will just say not gonna happen. Xda devs are not affiliated with google, samsung or the carriers in any way.
So...I could care less when official jb comes out....cause I've been running it already for months!

I just installed embryo 6.8 today. So far so good! Was using Whitehawkz Aokp 4.2.2 for about a month...its very good! I just wanted to try a TW rom again, since last time I did there were alot more issues on the t989. Seems most of its been ironed out now....even have signal bars now.
Anyway, those are the 2 I've used recently. There are a bunch of great current roms tho! Just read thru the different rom threads to see what folks are saying about them.
Remember....for what I do with my phone I have very few if any issues....but for what you do with your phone...that could be different. Just nandroid a safe good backup....and flash anything that appeals to you. If you don't like, then restore your nandroid.

There are a few JB roms with ported S3 themes and apps, check the dev section and find one you like.

some things can be ported (like themes), but some of the apps are hardware specific and probably wouldn't work on our phone.

If you're asking if this almost 2 year old device will be updated to support features of a yet unreleased flagship device, then the answer is no

T-Mobile has announced software updates for the many of the devices I've used over the years and rarely have they ever followed through. There are plenty of JB ROMs that are worth looking at that will blow any T-Mo OTA out of the water.
And the T989 doesn't have the hardware capacity to run what the S4 will be able to run.

Hey all I am looking to flash a good 4.3 ROM I am on slim bean 4.3 right now and was looking for your opinions on other good 4.3 ROMs for the sgh-t989 Hercules the slim bean is pretty good but I know there is always something better!! Lol

Hellybean 4.3 by thdude.
Running at 1.7GHz stable (~1 hour AnTuTu stability test passed; 39C max temps); stock voltage (1.8GHz = phone restarts when GPU benchmarking via 3DMark). 4068 3DMark score on stock 1.5GHz; 4260 at 1.7GHz.

How's the battery life on that and also any advice for a 4.3 ROM on the sgh-t959v sgs4g

Yep yep I know just was seeing if someone had made a method yet I ended up selling it getting another flashed the piss out of it then sold it now I'm back on the sgs4g running 4.3

Aww bro you should have kept the t989. I want to get a new phone but with all the roms still rolling out for this one it's hard! All in all this phone is one of the best.

Ummmm ya I make decent money that's not all I do though I do rooting roming video game emulation fixing and pretty much anything that has to do with a phone as well but if I was just to buy and resell phones I'd make enough for my rent and phone bill most likely it all depends on how cheap you get the phones for I get em for cheap cheap I have people that live in other states find em and send them to me and I sell them in my online stores and stuff and split the profit with then 60 40 them 60 me 40 and that makes good money for me and the people doing it for me cause I sell them fast

Bean stalk used to be my absalute favorite ROM for every phone..... Until I found slim bean.... You have to try it slim bean 4.3 for the t989 is where its at

XDA is a development site not a support site. As such members are expected to do the research, read through the development threads and decide what is BEST for them.
