I finally took the plunge, rooted and loaded fd24 on my phone. Chrome seems to crash on a consistent basis. My question, is it my phone or it's just seriously buggy.
I don't know for sure one way or the other but I can confirm that out locked up and crashed constantly for me on every ICS build I ran. It is still in beta though.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
I would say it is chrome. I have not had any luck with it. Always seems slow and crashes
I don't think its been worked out yet for epic 4g touch.. I thought I heard that it may be kernel related.. and that would make Spence since we don't have source for ICS kernels. I think it might work better on a nexus S 4g better, but don't quote me on that..
it should be soon... I hope..

It's Chrome that's buggy. It is only a Beta version. I had heard they're releasing an update for it in the next week and then the update after that one is supposed to take it out of Beta.
Chrome is consistently buggy. You're not alone.

It constantly crashes on my E4GT on AOKP build 34. When it does work it stutters when scrolling.

Yep, kernel issue. Once I see a build with that fixed I will declare it the official build. That's all that is left to be fixed IMHO.

Its def chrome. I have a Nexus s 4g and it works pretty much as expected but on the Epic its not even worth taking up mem. When all is said and done though I would have to say that it will eventually be the best browser for mobile. Its really a joy to use when it works right. Heard its supposed to come out of beta sometime soon so shouldn't be a long wait for us.

So if it works on other devices then how is the issue with the app? The kernel on our phone is what doesn't agree with the app.

Chrome has been doing this since the early ICS leaks. I want to love this browser but it's pretty much useless in its current state.

Doubtful, considering it relies on Hardware Acceleration to function properly (which anything below ICS lacks). =/
Just be patient and wait until ICS is released for our phones; or give CM9 a whirl in the meantime.
I just read about this. It has a nice sync option using your google account.
Now I have a reason to want ICS on my phone. lol

Does Google Chrome run OK for you guys on ICS? I know that it is in Beta status, but I hear lots of reviews about how great it is.
It runs horribly for me. I can't go 30 seconds without it locking up. It will then give me the option to wait or close. Sometimes it will blur while trying to Thing is, it's not working for me on all different E4GT Roms I have tried (CM9, Calk's, Goodness). I have AOKP on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, and it's terrible on there too...same thing, slow, freezing, bad scrolling.
Any others care to share your experience with Chrome? Am I the only one?
it runs like s**t for me too. Ive tried it on AOKP and every leak since FB07. The people who have reported that it hasnt been glitchy, I believe, are just incredibly lucky. lol
It runs like $hit for me as well. It freezes, stutters & basically is unusable.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
It's all about CM9. the e4gt came too late to the party for much to care for cm7.
I posted this in the other two forums and didn't wanna leave you sprint folks out.
I have a fix for the lagginess in builds from the past week and a half or so. The culprit is the surface flinger library. It is the android compositing system and some changes recently made to it are responsible for the significant lag in recent builds. Most noticeable spot is if you hit the home button if you have the notification drawer down. It becomes extremely laggy without this patch. Scrolling is also less smooth whenever multiple things on the screen are being drawn. This fixes all those issues.
Just flash this in cwm or whatever recovery you choose. Should work on all cm10 builds and cm10 based roms like paranoid android.

I love you. Does anyone in CM know about this issue? So that they can correct it?
For any fellow LMT users: This also seems to have drastically decreased the lag you get with your pie buttons (more specifically, the back button). I think Paranoid fans will dig it. I do!
Wow, I've been messing with every setting possible to fix the drawer from lagging the way it did knowing everything else was butter smooth. You have de-stressed me :'). Awesome Fix!

Hello all not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm going from a note 1 to a note 2 very soon and was wondering what the big differences between the new kernals and ROMs were. None of them are stable. If you want stable stick with stock ROM which is very good. If you are OK with some minor unstable-ness then go with CM10.1 which is really nice on this phone.

So the JB ROMs still have the lost call function and the random reboots? Or is there just a base debloated JB type ROM that don't suffer from those problems?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah pretty much although cm10.1 has fixed a lot and those guys are very good developers. Most other ROMs are just mods of CM. There is still some issues with CM but minor I personally never had a lost call or reboot but sounds on calls sometimes is an issue and camera freezes and video recording has lags and stuttering.

This is not true. Clean ROM is just as stable, if not more stable than stock. It's essentially a stock ROM that had been debloated and had some performance tweaks. I switched over and haven't looked back.
