Try clearing network location and HTC location service in settings - manage applications - all applications tab.
Then try again making sure you have mobile data and gps turned on.
Note: the first satellite lock after clearing the appliction data I suggested could take upto 10 minutes or more, be patient. After the first lock your phone should get a gps lock very quickly.

I am running the sense clock with weather and now the weather will not show up unless I have wifi running?? hmm
I would check settings for mobile data to be on.
I tried that still no go.. ugh sucks
Location
I believe your problem is with your phone not knowing where you are. Your phone hasn't received any data from the gps satellites. Wifi helps with location, so that is why it would work then. Check your location settings and make sure both options are checked, and load google maps. Once it knows your location it should work. If not, try removing and adding the widgets again, or rebooting

Evening Snowpatrol - it sounds like you have encoutered the problem that was brought on by the 2.50.XXX.X update.
Could you confirm what version of the software you are using?
Was your GPS working before you installed Co-Pilot?

I am CoPilot user, the way to get it to work when it seem to be playing hard is:-
Start > Mobile Network >GPS >CoPilot, it should then acquire a fix fairly quick. [turn mobile network off after it has acquired a fix]
It should then start as normal with just the GPS. [no data should be needed]
Only a tiny amount of data used in acquiring a fix.
Take Care

Yeah i am on the .2.5 update gps is working but wont shut down, but copilot gives no signal but google maps does

Part of the glitch with the 2.50 update is that the GPS doesn't switch off and the only way to shut it down is to reboot the phone.
Out of curiosity - if you download and install GPS status from Android Market - does it get a lock?
Yeah it locks, gps is working fine but just want it off! But if i reset i lose all my apps etc and what happens if it happens again?

The only way to get rid of the icon (I guess that is what you are talking about) is to reboot the phone - that will clear it until the next time you use the GPS.
I got rid of this problem by flashing a Custom ROM.
I have lost GPS signal on my phone. I've tried cycling through the options and nothing seems to be bringing it back. I've rebooted my phone and nothing. I downloaded the GPS status app and it does not locate any satellites.
Any suggestions?

Install app by the name of 'GPStest'.
Open app go into settings and you will see two tabs at top [Clear AGPS] & [update AGPS]
Select Clear AGPS tab wait 10 second then select Update AGPS.
Back out of settings and watch satellites lock.
From that point exit app your good to go.
And if that doesn't work, take it back and get a new one.
The GPS status app has those options and I've done that already, but still nothing. I'm hoping it'll just come back on its own. I'm going to do a battery pull, and see if that helps

Actually I just checked and I do have the GPS test app, not sure what happened though but it started working again. I didn't even get to do the battery pull. Weird, hopefully it doesn't do this when I need it.

I have been having the same problem and I just ran the fix permissions in rom manager and I grabbed about 9 sats in my house. Prior I couldn't get 1 to show nevermind connect. I also did all the stuff in gps status
I recall there was a thread about this a week or so ago but I can't find it ... basically since updating my phone to Android 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0 via the .exe link on this forum, the HTC weather app just says United Kingdom instead of my actual location, any solutions for this?
Thanks
You can either manually add your location or just wait for Agps to kick in. It's good to let the Rom settle for a while too after flashing. Turning off fastboot and restarting a few times can help too.

This doesn't work. AGPS doesn't have anything to do with it, as my location is accurate on the Accuweather mobile web page and in Google Maps. I have restarted my phone numerous times and it doesn't have any affect. As the post above this one mentioned, its not just on my ROM. I have a feeling its an issue with HTC/Accuweather but I would like clarification on this please.

Hi,
my mates DHD also has the same issue, gets UK on wifi but on AGPS/signal location we both get the right location, i'm surprised no-one else has mentioned this?
Same happens here in Finland too, DHD doesn't update "my location" right after 2.3.5 update... I have mailed to HTC for this issue but no help from there...
Yeah, seems like it's an issue, but only on wifi, hope it gets fixed soon!

I'm having the same issue, stuck on United Kingdom.
Pleased to see it's not just my phone!

Mines not on WiFi, I'm using my mobile network
I have had this issue on several roms. Usually I have to turn Agps off and GPS off. Reboot. Use GPS test to clear Agps. Turn both back on and Make sure you get a GPS lock. Then go back to widget and open. It will fail again, but when you hit refresh it will finally connect to accuweather. Sometimes this process has to be done more than once. Usually though it will just start working on its own. How long before it does though could be a while.

I've tried that, turned GPS off and back on again, gone onto Google Maps, found my location, ran the widget and it still comes back as United Kingdom. This is both on WiFi and on Mobile Data.
It looks like its a official problem as everyone seem to have the same problem, hope we get a fix soon.

Hello,
My I did the update yesterday to 1.28.163.9 and now my GPS can't localise me, I googled for this probleme and didn't found anything, I am alone in this situation ? is there a way to roll back ?
have a good day evrybody.
Hi, first thing I would do is download an app called 'GPS Test', run it and goto settings and choose Clear GPS then come out of settings and the app will show you how many satellites it can find.
This clears the GPS location data and forces or to find It's location again.
After a minute or two you should see it has a lock then just exit the app and try whatever app you where using before to see if it knows your location.
I seem to remember having to do this once after updating to 1.28
Good luck!
