IT'S VERY BAD IDEA TO USE IT!
Our kernel have ICS stuff like: genlock, memalloc, kgsl, ksm, compatibility with Adreno libs and finally - a flicker fix. Even if it basing on our github code - it's still not as up-to-date as our kernel. Believe me.
We are working hard to provide you as stable ICS as it possible.

LOL, try that before you say ...

not pure on your source ..
and this kernel have test by my friend
I don't have to test it, because i know it haven't got "ICS stuff like: genlock, memalloc, kgsl, ksm, compatibility with Adreno libs and finally - a flicker fix". Okay, it's good because of many governors and IO scheulders but it's not as good for ICS as our kernel.

As long as i know.. CyanogenMod and Google itselfs let everyone to do everything with their source.. so why don't you all do the same thing? This Is Open Source dude.. no offence
i know it's up to you if you want to looking for some profit.. that's OK ..

hmmm
basically IMHO, if you work on GPL project, anyone also can build it with your source.
my suggestion you should make a code to protect your rights.
ex:
- create a code with encrypted text (md5/sha/tr) to protect [email protected] in middle of kernel code. so anyone cant replace it & claim your work easily.
and dont judge/blame anyone who want to try and learn about it
hmmm, but i also not 100% understand with GPL

Guys, stop spamming.
1. I'll update my sources, but with next release, it needs some changes.
2. I still cannot find any sense of making kernels like that.
3. PLEASE, DO NOT REPORT ANY PROBLEMS WITH CM9 IF YOU AREN'T USING ANY OTHER KERNEL THAN ONE DEVELOPED BY US!
Why I didn't updated my sources from a long time?
Say thanks to all guys, who used my sources. They was use it without any word like: "It built using GalaxyICS sources" or something like that. I was be very angry, and this is cause of closed GalaxyICS sources. It really hurts when somebody using your sources and he not adding adnotation about that.

A little introduction
Recently in several Android fora on XDA-Developers, it has come to the attention of the moderator team that there have been issues regarding developers’ compliance with the GPL. This post aims to clarify the position of XDA on the use of GPL sources, particularly in the development of Android kernels.
Without the GPL, the Android operating system would likely never have come about. Through the work of Linus Torvalds, the Linux kernel was made open source for all to use, share and modify. As Android runs on the Linux kernel, and features numerous modifications to these sources, it would not exist in its present state without the Open Source community.
As a result, it is in the interests of everyone who owns an Android phone, who wishes to see further development on the platform, to ensure that they play their part in upholding both the letter and spirit of the GPL.
The GNU General Public Licence (also known as the GPL) is available to read in full at www.gnu.org
To make it easy for everyone to spot a release that complies with the GPL mark the title of your release thread with [GPL]. If you find a ROM which does not comply with the GPL, or the developer does not issue sources, you can report the post as usual, using the report post button next to the post number. Alternatively you may PM your forum specific moderator.
The Rules as they apply on XDA
As XDA has no legal power to uphold the GPL (and frankly we want to stay as far away from doing so as possible), we can’t force any of our users to abide by the GPL. However it is in XDA’s interests as well as the interests of our developer-base to ensure all GPL-derived materials hosted or linked on XDA comply fully with the GPL.
[*]GPL-derived materials that do not come with the complete sources used to compile the GPL components are considered warez, and will be treated as such under forum rule 6 and 9.
[*]If you use GPL components, but do not make any modifications to them whatsoever, you should provide a link to the original source of your GPL code.
[*]Sources accompanying a release should be complete, and contain all the necessary source code for any modules, scripts or definition files. Complete sources will be defined as those which compile correctly and completely against the platform for which the software is distributed, and which contain any and all modifications made to the released General Public Licenced code. The source code supplied should be the exact version for which the source code is being requested, complete with all modifications.
EXAMPLE: Here’s a bit of code that could be used as a template to post your releases
The Very Quick Summary of General Public License (GPL)
The text of the GPL Licence itself will be used to reach any final conclusion regarding any disputes over GPL Licenced materials. The above is a summary of what XDA expects of members using GPL code, and the complete text can be read at the GNU website.
The GPL states that anyone who modifies GPL licenced code is required to make available the sources used to compile it. This is to further improve and encourage collaborative work, as well as to ensure that the best code possible is produced, and to encourage peer-review of all work. This benefits both developers and end users in numerous ways, including:
[*]Allowing anyone to verify the code they are trusting with their data, and its authenticity
[*]Encouraging community collaboration to produce faster fixes and updates, and better code
[*]Helping bring new developments from other devices and fields to your own, letting you benefit from new code that wouldn’t have been available without this sharing.
[*]The GPL imparts great freedom for GPL end users. It ensures innovation is never stifled and no project is dependent upon any single developer.
It is in everyone’s interest for the GPL to be adhered to, as it gives us all better ROMs, better transparency, and a better atmosphere for developers to work together to make great code.

Cheers for that squadzone.
tux-kid's - As your Kernel is based on the above source, all you need to do is provide the source to the files you edited/changed and those files only.
If you'd like I can help you get set up on GitHub, as I'm sure many others here could too. XDA is here to embrace, help & encourage development.

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously. But here is one for now:
Here are just a few of our features:
Work in progress.. Many things related to carbon fibers are yet to be merged with 4.4.2.. So have patience..
Working/Non-Working List:
RIL (Calls, SMS, Mobile Data)
Display
Camera (photos, camcorder & panorama)
Audio and video playback
Audio recording
Wifi & Wifi tethering
Bluetooth & Bluetooth tethering
OpenGL rendering
Hardware video decoding & encoding
Sensors (accelerometer,compass,light,proximity)
Sdcard
auto brightness
notification led
Gps
Not working/Tested:
Carbon bugs
FM Radio
Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.
5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Who is Team Carbon?

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon! Donate here to team Carbon.

i always flash roms with 6.0.3.2 "touch" ( i had it with szymel's stock roms ) , but i think the last official by "rom-manager" team work too .
what is your problem ?
maybe a download error ?
...
ROM is neat and pretty.. fast & smooth!:good:
i have occasional camera freezes.. wipe and reboot will make it work and freezes again when switching modes. aside from that.. the functions that i use usually are working just fine..thanks for another great ROM for L7.
Tested this rom for a day and not bad i can say from 1 to 10 its 8.
8 because there are some bugs like FCs on Carbon Fibers settings and stuff. i guess that is just all

I'm on twrp, error on flashing. Can't open zip.
Probably download error, downloaded twice already.
I think I'll stick to stock atm, this Rom still young.
Thanks for the reply.

You wanna be more catholic than Pope! Why you don't simply watch the work of Sychost which is more advanced dev. and have a big step forward. What you try is to reinvent the wheel and do something unnecessary. My opinion.

Balika01, it would be great it you share the kernel from your Miui 6 rom.
So that people can atleast try kernel from your Rom for this Lollilop Rom.
It would be hactic to download 300+ mb of rom for Kernel.
Your contribution would be highly solicited.
Thanks...

Since the source of the Kernel is not yet released by Xiaomi, then how can you get the source???
I'm just asking balika01 to share the kernel that he is using, it is an updated kernel.
So that it might be helpful for Lollipop. Who knows it might do miracles...!!!!
Trying is what takes you a step towards success.
Thanks...
Has anyone tried anything for fixing RIL bug?
i have been looking into it from last 3 hrs tried many RIL classes but no success. By the way if you add the XiaomiRIL class in build. prop which syhost has disabled currently you will see the device can search for all available networks but cant get authorization.
I think Syhost has sorted RIL class but the reason the device doesn't get authorization is due to missing multisim patches in current build. I will try again tomorrow if i get time.
I even tried to port RIL class of CM11 for armani but still no networks. Therefore i will try to patch the framework with multisim related patches tomorrow.

If we will not wait for Kernel Sources, the Xiaomi company will not ever release the Kernel sources, they will say that you people keep on digging the solutions, and let us work for the new one. No Doubts, our XDA Guys are much better than those working in Xiaomi Company, but they got other works too. Wasting 1 or 3 months on a Source which the company can release easily.
This how the problem starts
And by the way, the developers got angry and granted a last chance to Company, Even the threads of Redmi 1s was closed for several days by the moderator, against Xiaomi. Now if the company will not show the sources, then there are 90% chances to SPAM their websites.

Short Credit list:
(more people here:Github)
Armani Devs (@jsevi83 and @Kra1o5) for initial device bring-up
Anybody who has unselfishly helped me in anyway(through donations, testing, promotions and moral support)
Short Feature list:
(Full feature list including Developmental Goals are on Github)
Basic Governors(I won't add Ripoffs, Ondemand is in continuous development to give you a balance between savings and performance)
Built using my own GCC 4.8.x/4.9.x/5.1.x Toolchain built across the standards of Google's own Toolchain..
Simple and no fancy stuff..(more does not guarantee it's better)
Uses a simple free and user friendly application called Synapse by @AndreiLux for configuration purposes(slightly adding more functionality)
A Few Notes:
Be advised that this kernel is best used "As is" i do want to prohibit the use of scripts that they say "enhances performance and battery" just use the kernel as it is..everything is managed automatically by the kernel and rest assured continuous innovations are en-route.
Supporters:
I would like to express my sincerest gratitude by saying thank you and a continued commitment to get things better on this device via what i do best..kernels..
And these individuals who are generously helping me fund the device, deserve the same credit for that whole-hearted effort in doing so..(they come in no particular order)

Amit Painter
Jagdish Shirsat
My sincerest Thanks!!(once again)

Compatibility list:
According to testers/users feedback the Kernel works on the FOLLOWING ROMS(tested)
CyanogenMod 11(Stable)
PAC ROM(Stable)
CR Droid(Stable)
Carbon(Stable as reported by one User and Tester)
Any ROM based on Armani Devs sources
The list will grow as soon as Testers/Users can provide means and ways to make this compatible with everything..

Yeah for sure these guys are gonna love it.. they are in for one hell of a ride..
EDIT: wake gestures is a WIP as i am trying to clean some stuff out..all your other requests like Voltage control are WIP(we have already have this working on Desire 816 test kernel just a few minor stuff needs to be worked out..also this change needs a DT edit and unfortunately using the DT's supplied by Xiaomi, the device does not bootup..without the proper DT's the voltage control won't work unless someone would like to collaborate with me on this..the same thing goes for GPU and CPU Overclocking..)

Yeah, I know and already read the whole thing but I also didn't see the Governor and Schedulers there. It's just that some people would really appreciate to see what they are dealing with first hand. Links to changelog is also good just for others to keep on tabs. You also have that "Features:" thingy so I thought you would put something there.

well its based on Xiaomi's official source..if you can provide me stock boot.img from stock ROM i can repack this build to be able to boot on Stock ROM(MIUI) which i would love too..
OR
Will do an anykernel Installer next update which might come in a few days time( i have to release to my M7 and M4 threads )..
EDIT: I am also looking for a small group of testers.. both for MIUI stock ROM and AOSP based ROM's..
I've been using @kairi_zeroblade's Xceed kernel on the HTC m7. His custom hot plug work, ondemand CPU governor refinements and other coding efforts quite simply deliver the best battery life, screen-on-time, and smoothest performance that I've ever experienced on this phone.
This is a perfectionist developer who's going way beyond the simple code collecting, tweaking and compiling that goes into so many of the "custom" kernels we find on XDA.
Enjoy!

Now its time for Redmi 1S to get some love from you... Going to try it tonight .. Thnax a lot for your contribution !!

Edit: Yeah do it as Anykernel 2.0 because that would be more friendlier since Redmi 1S is going to get multiple versions of Android.
I like your style Dude, simple kernel. I too don't care, really for many features too as long as I get Interactive, SIO, Voltage Control and msm_hotplug or intelli-plug (either of the two would do for me).

Good to see a renowned Dev working for a little device. BTW Cezar bro, hats off to your work and on behalf of user of Redmi 1s, I welcome you on board here....
Here is last night's usage. I kept out of charge at 72%. WiFi always on, mobile network always on, no tweaks, nothing done to CPU...
But best back up, it was at 67% when I woke up in the morning....

Hello devs, Is it possible to work on the lollipop kernel as we have a lollipop rom released for our device....
Really looking forward to that
Hi xda community, I'm here to call for help. This phone is infernal to mod, it rejects kernels, there is no custom rom, building recovery is the "easiest" thing to do (it took me at least 5 hours) but today after hours and hours trying and googling, i cant make it alone but togheter it can work, i'am calling help for building a custom kernel, any help is accepted, if anyone wants to help direct source fork and pull request after changes to this github repo: https://github.com/malikh0206/kernel-test-a32 but you can also help in the thread. I explain the situation here:
-The build crashes "randomly" (I think I can fix it, but I really dont know) FIXED ! I just had to add "apt install xz-utils" in the entrypoint.sh
-We need to mod it (I can mod a little bit but after i dont know)
-The phone rejects all self-built kernel (I really need help for that). edit: OH MA GAD THANK YOU SO MUCH @Captain_cookie_200 for fixing this, now it's working and I can disable SElinux (Im gonna attach the file just flash it) It's a very big step, yesssssss so happy it's been weeks and weeks. We can say this is a first release.
I will make updates after time. Thank you very much if you can help me, hoping it works.
The kernel can be better but I think it can be in a few time a real custom kernel, so I think I will convert the thread, but it will in constant developement.

Why the custom kernel? The stock one does not work correctly or you need more horsepower? As of that there is no custom ROM you can actually make one yourself using this thing.

I want to make a custom kernel because some peoples ask for it (permissive mode, etc) and making a custom from scratch (only for SM-A325F) but just pack a GSI on a super.img is a little bit useless when you can use TWRP for like any GSI

someone actually built a kernel for this phone. i am daily driving it on android 11 fw with android 13 gsi. It broke on android 13 firmware and i expirienced a bootloop on gsi.
