Was reading a forum about the EVO 3D Devs and they mentioned a dev named Android ball and that he got banned. Wat did he do to get banned? And what would get someone banned?

Developer here at your service. I'm sorry. But the question you are asking is related to warez. So I can't give you a direct link. But here's a clue. PSX Games, ISO DL in google. And can't post in the development thread. People like you annoy me. Going around thinking your better than everyone else and treating people like stupid people. Some people just ain't techy like us. I had to help a 40yr old bloke yesterday understand how to unlock the bootloader of the nexus s. He didn't know where to start and he isn't techy like us. So next time maybe just not reply and just write to yourself "I was a noob once. I was stupid once. I needed help once." and then maybe help and not be rude.

SOOOOOOOOOO i got super drunk and lost my e4gt moved up to the gs3. Got a great deal on craigslist so had to do it better than a upgrade.

Yeah I think I was one of the first to post a good buy thread, but if you haven't noticed, all these threads labeled 'goodbye' are apparently being locked.
XDA is becoming big brother in censoring posts. First it's with goodbye threads, then it's with thanking our troops on Veterans day. What's next?
I wouldn't give this thread more then an hour or two before a moderator locks it as well. Apparently it appears to be a sign of the times.

I'm fine with the Goodbye threads being locked. A general welcome/goodbye thread is probably the best solution.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of goodbye threads. I think it's kind of a kick to the teeth to the people that still have the phone, even if that's not the intent. Plus, it clutters up the General forum.

Locking a thread supporting our troops shows that this moderater has no respect for his own family or friends that faught fornhis freedoms to be on XDA. Before anyone starts the nerd crap about the rules know that I dont care because the onley thing I care about right now is the men and woman who are in uniform or have been there that come to this site daily and make XDA a buck and I hope and really hope they delete my account I will not be back. Jay the one who locked the thread needs to be dropped in the middle of the war zone a few times. Suck my balls **** stick!

It wasn't the mod's fault. Someone previously posted a comment that completely ruined any kind aspect the OP was trying to display towards veterans (Of all nations) to the extent that the moderated was forced to close the thread (He himself had posted thanks previously too)

XDA is not a forum about the USA Military, It's about smart phone/tablet development. If you post off topic, your thread will most likely get closed.
I reported your completely disrespectful post about a moderator who has done a pretty fine job of keeping this place clean.

Maybe if you guys would actually READ the thread and see instead of "OMG they locked a Vet thank you thread!!1!1 Let's rebel against XDA!!1!" You will see what happened. If you have any other further questions or attitudes I suggest you talk to me in pm.

What happens is that on your page .. the developer says that those who donate, will be able to have the firmware before, but also later, release them FREE to the entire community. I mean that's just to support and encourage hard work.
oh and it's true ... You're right I did hurry and did not realize .. Moderators please move this thread to the General section please ..

The application for RD covers more than "Did you release anything?" It also asks how you will help the community in general. Only XDA can sell the work developers contribute here. It's a lot like a university saying they own the rights to your projects. I don't think either side is right, but you know what you're signing up for.

But surely there've been Portal Posts promoting paid apps made by members of this place, that XDA does not profit from? Besides, XDA can't possibly sell an Android ROM, right? I'd like to get the full story on this; I don't like the sound of it at all. What the heck happened that could possibly justify their abuse if it isn't your reason?

well he is going to release a free version after one month
developer of dixperia roms did something like this too but why no one told anything to him?

XDA doesn't seem to be on the right side of things on this.. atleast they don't sound like they have a logical reason to be right.
Overlay team was doing right,.. that's my opinion.

They do have an area for announcing paid software, but that's the only place it's permitted.
XDA doesn't sell ROMs directly, just advertising and stuff like that.
There could be 1000 reasons, but they're really between the dev and XDA. Only one side of the story is given by a blog post and most people aren't going to admit they were wrong and then ask for donations.

Well known Recognised Developer team that works on 4.4 for Xperia 2011 devices(including xplay), has built their own 4.4.2 firmware. They offer an early access version to people who donate $5 on their website. After 1 month, it all becomes free to the public. Apparently XDA didn't like that, and revoked their recognised developer status and deleted the thread. The development team is asking us to PM the forum administrators and show our disagreement on the matter.
Also, achtojan hasn't posted anything in the past 3 days on xda since this happened, can't blame him.

XDA FORUM RULES - #11

So basically they should have just made the mandatory donate version on their personal website, then when it goes free they could have posted it on xda and still accept donations. The rules aren't very well laid out concerning this. It certainly doesn't justify revoking their RD status.

They didn't technically break rule number 8. The development team isn't saying "donate now and in a month you will receive it". They're saying donate now and receive it immediately, or wait and get it for free. Or is that still not allowed? I've seen many paid services on XDA, I guess the teams main mistake was posting it on XDA instead of just their website.

The problem is, that all of they're firmware can only be obtained for a fee. That is against the rules. If they posted a link to a donate and free version then it would be fine, but everything they linked to is for money. Not OK.

That makes sense. If that's really the case, I'm on XDA's side.
