Where to buy T-Mobile old 3g sim card - HTC One X

Hello, as stated in my other post data and mms will not work without an older 3g T-Mobile sim card. I am willing to buy one if anyone knows where to get one? Thanks!

Verizon Nexus have a sim card slot?

Just curious if the Verizon one has a sim card slot? And if so, can it be unlocked and be used on like T-Mobile?
Has a sim card for LTE. Has no 3G GSM radio
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
It cannot ever be unlocked to be used on GSM it doesn't have the radio.
It's not compatible.
Verizon LTE gn does have a 3g radio but not compatible with networks outside of Verizon.

Does anyone know by chace if the SIM slot on the Verizon version is compatible with the GSM version? 2 pins are broken in my GSM version, so it will no longer read my SIM. Could I buy/get the part from the Verizon version and put it in the GSM one? (Just the SIM dock, not the whole board obviously.)
thanks.
good question. I remember I used to have a Blackberry storm from Verizon that had a sim card slot enabling me to use it with T-Mobile.

One X with t-mobile hotspot router

If I get a One X and buy a t-mobile hotspot router and put my sim card into the router will I get 4g speeds? Would this work with my current data plan? Would I need to get a seperate hotspot plan to get 2 sim cards for it to work?
Yes you need a separate hotspot plan. Yes your hotspot needs a sim card.

ATT Note 2 work on Straight Talk ?

Was at Worst Buy today, they said would price match any online price for the Note 2, plus offer me free insurance if broken, or any issues.
I was gonna get the true international Note 2, but worried if it has issued or warranty problems, it would be much easier to just go back to Best Buy than to have to mail it off, out of the country.
So, that being said, I am on Straight Talk, I hate being raped by the carriers and handcuffed into outdated contract system. Would the ATT Note 2 work on my Straight Talk SIM ? Or does the phone need to be unlocked first ?
I never unlocked a phone before. But I always root and install custom ROM the first day I take phone out of the box. Does rooting a phone, automatically unlock it too ?
And how bout HSPA+ ? Straight Talk doesn't do LTE yet, just HSPA+ I know the ATT Note 2 is LTE, but does it also have HSPA+ too, or just slower 3G ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
You would have to unlock it, either buy scrounging a code or going to the carrier and asking for one. Rooting doesn't automatically unlock the device. As far as 4G I really dunno, but I'm sure someone will tell you.

I believe you only need to buy the att version of the straight talk sim. No need to unlock. Then you go on their web site and get the APN.

Thanks, so I am currently using the ATT SIM on Straight Talk. Just pop that in the new Note 2, and it will work right out of the box ?
What about HSPA+ ? Straight Talk doesn't have LTE. Does the ATT Note 2 have HSPA+ 3G besides LTE ?

It is not the sim from att. Its a straight talk sim made for att phones. You have to order them online. It uses att network and you would get everything except lte.
https://www.straighttalk.com/ShopSims is where you order the sim and there is more info on the service on the site.

On my international One X, I am using Straight Talk with the ATT SIM. In the Straight Talk package, there were three sims to choose from. T-Mobile, and two ATT, one regular size, and one micro/mini, which is what I am currently using.
So can I just take this mini ATT SIM from Straight Talk, and pop it in the ATT Note 2 from Best Buy, and it will work ? I don't need to have the phone unlocked ?
Thank you

Thanks Mel. What about HSPA+ ? Straight Talk only does HSPA+ no LTE. Does the Note 2 also use HSPA+ if not using LTE ?

Its already been answered and yes ITS BEEN A LONG time since ive even seen a UMTS on my phone. and also HSPA+ is still 3G.... Straight talk Uses Edge,3G, and 3.5G which is HSPA+
Also if the Note 2 only used LTE then people would not be buying it cause not all AT&T areas are LTE...
I am more than happy with 3.5G HSPA+, plenty fast for my phone needs, I just wasn't sure it was included in the Note 2, for some reason I thought was just standard 3G only and also LTE.
Most the time I am in a WiFi area anyways, at Home or Work Office, so LTE not a deal breaker for me.
Thank you

Good point, thanks for the answer.
Last question, since I am using the ATT Sim for Straight Talk, is there even any point to have the ATT Note 2 unlocked ?

I would, just in case your are in area where there is no at&t service and are on the Edge network. Not only that but unlocking is free!!!

Lte sim card question

Im currently using my evo 3d on a sprint mvno that supports byop with sprint devices, and im considering getting the gs3 and i dont need to use lte just calling and text and maybe 3g, will i be able just to leave an old sprint sim card in there just so it won't say no sim, or even if I'm not using LTE I'll have to have an active lte sim in there?

The New LTE phones like the gs4, HTC one, and Nexus 5 actually do have an LTE sim card. Older LTE phones have it integrated.
