[Q] I tried to implement the ICS SkyRocket port, now in boot loop without access. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I am not able to access download or recovery mode. When I hold down power+vol down it restarts the boot, when I hole vol down and up+power it restarts the boot.

hold vol down+up+power, after your phone vibrates release the power button while still holding vol down+up.. keep holding them until you are in recovery.. it took me several tries to figure out the exact timing of when to release the power button I use the vibration as an indicator of when to let go and it works every time.. if your phone for some reason does not vibrate for some reason then try releasing the power button after about 3 or 4 seconds..
if you choose to try a skyrocket port again i suggest using darkside superwipe first.. I had the same problem as you but it works fine now

[Q]superwipe then restart, now bricked?

I am going to install a new rom, so i superwipe all the things, then when I should choose a new rom to install, I accidentially press the "reboot system". Sign,.....now the phone is bricked? I can't go into the bootloader by pressing the vol down and power.
Even I hold the power button for ten seconds, it just power off and the power on automatically and stay at the htc white screen.
what can i do?
THX.
As soon as it powers off hold vol down as it boots

when i hold power for a few seconds, the virtual buttons blinks for a while, then i immediately press the vol down button, but no use, just the same whilte screen.
No, hold power for 10 seconds to force a reboot. As soon as your phone powers down, press and hold vol down, keep holding and you should enter hboot. It might take a couple of attempts to get it right.

Spot on keep trying we have all been there don't give up you will eventually get into fastboot
How do people not know the basics?? This is simple stuff
Cos they don't read. Although I remember when I first got my desire a couple of years ago, and rooted it, I was crapping myself that I might be killing it, esp as revolutionary and cwm didn't work with the erase size of 40000 I had on mine, (too late, flashed it) oops.. But that didn't stop me reading and searching, all the info is out there people, what ever you do has most likely been done a million times before. (and fixed).

^^^^This.
Only assume your phone is bricked if you can't turn it on, or the bootloader gives you a critical error

Well mine won't turn on, battery is dead, and when I'm able to enter bootloader to check battery voltage I'm not able to charge it beyond 3543 volts or something.
Sometimes the bootloader gives weird errore like memory addresses or denied or something.
What can I do then?
The notification led blinks red sometimes, it never stays permanent red. And the sd sometimes fails as well, when I manage to enter recovery (which is not really often)

I have the same issue and cannnot get into fastboot either. I think it has to do with the fastboot option which was enabled... Is there any way to get into fastboot? Or should i give up trying...?
Press and hold the power button. Once the screen goes off press AND HOLD the volume down button and it'll boot into HBOOT. Then press power once to get into FASTBOOT (or select recovery to go into CWM)

Hi, thanks for your reply. The problem actually is I cannot get into HBOOT. I've tried about 50 times, the only thing which displays is the brilliant HTC logo screen. I notice when I hold the powerbutton the softkeys are flashing 6 times before it goes black... When it goes black i'll press and HOLD the VOL DOWN key, but still no hboot

Keep pressing power button+volume down untill it gets into bootloader.
Don't let go at any point.
Just hold them pushed TOGETHER for as long as it takes. You WILL get into bootloader or else I'm afraid something is broken...

ROM Manager Hard Bricked My Phone?

I wanted to update my phone from CM9.1 to CM10 and wanted to back it up first. The first backup never went past "clearing space..." so I cleaned out all of my old ROMs and a couple of backups. Then I thought, maybe I don't have the latest version of recovery, so I reflashed Touch recovery. Then I hit the "reboot into recovery" in ROM manager. The phone vibrated and "Samsung" boot animation appeared very briefly....then nothing. I tried pulling the battery and then holding going directly into recovery with the volume buttons and power and it would just vibrate and show the opening samsung boot screen. After trying that a few times, now all I get is the vibration.
Today I tried the "soft brick" solution, but all it does is vibrate every alf second.
So am I bricked?
Your are soft bricked.
Take battery out for ten seconds
Insert back in hold volume keys press power
Let go while continuing holding volume key. Some people hold volume keys and power continuously but that doesn't always gets it.... g luck

To enter recovery, your timing during the phone vibration has to be somewhat perfectly timed.
Power up and keep one finger in the middle of the volume control so both volume controls are pressed simultaneously with one finger on the power button. When the phone vibrates one time, remove finger holding the power button while still holding the volume buttons until recovery appears.
Good luck OP.
When I do this, all I get is a black screen after the initial Samsung boot screen. Am I supposed to follow the instructions on the soft brick thread? Or just do this over and over until something else happens?
Good news guys. I used the soft brick instructions and loaded recovery through odin and it booted up into CM9 on its own! Thanks for the help!

Have you tried holding volume up and down at same time while holding in power button at the same time plugging in the power cord this will get you to download mode so you can use odin to flash new rom if possible. Or just turn power on while holding down volume button while it powers up this will get you to download mode without the power cord also.

Hold power button pressed until it will turn off.
Hold volume down while you turn on your hOV to start the bootloader and choose the recovery.
Edit: and please make sure you have flashed the right kernel before trying to boot the system

I pressed the power button for some seconds and it powered off. Power button has been unresponsive lately so I had to press it a million times before it closed. Flashed right kernel and it worked

Indeed, hOV power button is really very sensitive, sometimes you have to press two million times to make it work... That's because s2w is absolutely required for this device...

I don't think so. My HTC One V hasn't got ANY issues. Like PWR problem. I turned off s2w because it uses battery and I'm not using it
(And before I rooted it it has 1,5Ghz)

Hm I have the same problem, just getting "RECOVERY BOOTING....".
How exactly did you solve this, I tried what wrote but still only RECOVERY BOOTING....
Edit: Ah ok, managed it, very tricky, you have to release the Volume and Home key just in the right moment while the screen cycles.

Could you please describe it furthe rhow you got it working?
I have tried:
press vol down + home + power...... the screen cycle... keep pressing the power button... release the home and vol down button... and press the home and vol down button
Should the power button be pressed at all time?
PS:
I managed to get it booting to download mode one time after flashing the rom via odin.
I then flashed the recovery.tar found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53093720&postcount=8
after that, I get this in my top left corner.
RECOVERY BOOTING.....
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING

Yeah, keep pressing the power key the whole time.
Press POWER - VOL DOWN - HOME
Screen Cycle, while the screen is off,
Release VOL DOWN - HOME, and keep Pressing POWER
And one sec after press VOL DOWN - HOME again.
And it will work.
Note it took me ~30min to get it right, so just keep trying till it works.

So i tried everything on this thread to get my tab out of the boot loop but nothing helps and my tab won't switch off for long than 5 seconds. Does anyone know what i can do?
You don't need to press Home button, just keep power+vol down pressed, and you will get to DL mode in like 10-20 sec
Solution/Fix: use this custom recovery: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ent/recovery-unofficial-twrp-3-1-1-0-t3635803

Bootloader Issue

I am having a problem with my phone. I installed CM 11 on it via TWRP 2.6.3 but for some reason the flash didn't workout well and the phone was stuck in the boot animation. The problem is now I am not able to access bootloader because of a faulty vol down button. Before it would work some time, but now have tried it several times but can't do any thing. It just recognizes the power button press and turns the phone on and it gets stuck in bootloader. How do I get in recover to solve this problem.
Any advice?
