Best case for Kindle Fire? - Kindle Fire Accessories

Just recently purchased a Kindle Fire and was wondering what everyone's opinions were as to what the best case(s) are. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you're on a budget like me, I would recommend the M-Edge Trip Jacket Foldable Folio Cover Case. I got it for super cheap at an office supply store and it not TECHNICALLY made for the KF (it's for the Kindle Touch, *I think* but it fits a Fire just fine and is nothing fancy but I've put it through hell and it's still holding up. On Amazon it's not cheap and there are better options for the price, but if you go to office depot or staples or somewhere similar, I got mine for about $12, not on sale. Bring your KF with you so you can check and make sure it fits. It looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007L0VMTU/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8
If you prefer to order one and want to spend the extra cash, check out: Kindle Fire Lightweight MicroShell Folio Cover by Marware, Black
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005V2EVBQ/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8.
It's the one I almost got but I didn't have the money at the time and just needed something simple and cheap.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for help. I will look into both.
Any other suggestions are welcomed.

I'm very happy with this case. Almost no added bulk, and feels very sturdy. I got it new for $16 shipped. Shop around amazon.

Awesome cases, but a bit expensive
Check out http://www.oberondesign.com/Kindle_Fire.php
The quality of these is very impressive.
My wife got one of these for me and I am very happy with it!

Those look great but the price is kinda steep for a $200 device.

Mix'nMatch
I currently use this:
Belkin - Verve Folio Case for Amazon Kindle Fire - Black/Red from Best Buy
Works well, bit $$ maybe. I think it has personality though
I've been interested in adding a keyboard, since ICS dev contributions (most notably from Hashcode ... and the band of merry ICS ROM coders) appear to make a USB keyboard viable by On-The-Go (OTG) cable
... and the option I've seen is attached to a cover of it's own:
HDE 7" Tablet Stand with USB Keyboard - Black Faux Leather Carrying Case by PingTab
(from Amazon)
I'm working up to buying this, and then frankensteining the keyboard from it's cozy nest and using it with the belkin case I already have.
yeah, a bit 'O the undead business goin' on down here ...

I have a leather M-EDGE case for my Kindle. It's actually for the e-ink Kindle but the Kindle Fire just manages to fit in it.

I picked up this one when it was on sale for $20
www dot amazon dot com/gp/product/B005KDYA44
(too new to post external links...)
It suits my needs, and I like that it snaps into the tabs instead of the slide-in type cases.

I also just got my kindle fire and after deciding against a no name folio case (my wife has one and it bulky and not very usable). I decided on
http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Lightw...G3TC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335840808&sr=8-1
I really like it so far. Very like and keeps the fire at a nice profile so it's easy to hold and not too bulky. I bought it used so it cost me a lot less. And it's Amazon endorsed for the Fire.

Rocket fish case for kindle fire is deff what I'm using and I love it. Its about 30 dollars at best buy its closeable and it snaps into a stand as well if your willing to pay the cash its worth it.

Got my self one ordered 2 weeks ago and waiting mail to arrive to Europe. Nice to see positive comments, can't wait to get my hands on it.

I also have the Marware case, got the graphite color one form Amazon Warehouse deals for $16. What I really want is a Portenzo case, had one for the iPad 1, really great quality case and low profile, but quite expensive, $59.

This case is pricey for $45 but it feels great because it is made of genuine leather. It also has a built in stand.

This is terrible news.
I predict that the future popularity of the Fire will have them making one. I have a Gumydrop case for my Transformer and they say coming soon for the FIre. http://www.gumdropcases.com/kindle-fire.html
god i hope they change their minds
There is an Otterbox for the Playbook that may fit. We got one cheap off of Amazon for like $24.95 a month or so ago in hopes of using it with the Fire, but haven't tested it yet. The Playbook 3rd party rubber sleeves are too big, but the Playbook leather folio cases (3rd party) look/work great on the Fire. I got one for $4... regular price was $29.95.

About this sentence in the specs:
> Complete security for the Kindle Fire, including screen and port covers
Does this mean I wouldn't need an extra screen protector because the Gumydrop case has this already built-in?
Why buy a $40-50 case for a $200 item? "If you're looking for the most rugged, durable yet ultimately affordable Kindle Fire protection" Gumdrop, you think $50 case is cheap? really?!?!?
My rule is spend 10% of the device cost for case. I got a $24 trident kraken II case for my $250 phone, its an awesome case as good as otterbox.
For the fire the case has to be $19.99 or less for me to bite. Somebody has to make a quality one that is affordable too.

The Fire screen is gorilla glass, you don't need an anti-scratch screen protector.

I have one for my ASUS Transformer. It does have a plastic screen built into the case so you wouldn't have to have a screen protector on the device itself.

The Kindle Fire is a little smaller in dimensions and thickness to the Playbook. The Kindle Fire in the Playbook Otterbox is too loose and rattles around. You may be able to add some padding to retrofit to make it work. The price for a Playbook Otterbox is really cheap, so it may be worth a try.
This is really disappointing... I was hoping for an otterbox for this so I wouldn't have to worry about my son dropping it around the house. Does anyone have one of those gumdrop cases yet? And if so how sturdy is it.... If nothing else it looks pretty rad.
Has there been any update on this since the popularity of the Fire? Their initial no was just over a month ago; maybe there's been a change of mind?
wouldnt mine buying one for my fire.
really???? Otterbox what the he!! is going on? frist they skipped on my intercept; then they skipped my triumph; now they skip my cm7 clad fire. wth has their r and d department all been poop caned.

PS - They said, as of a week ago, that it's in serious consideration. I'm sure it is after millions of Fire's have been sold...
Ballistic has a case fire Kindle Fire coming sometime soon. Ballistic makes better cases than Otterbox, in my opinion. Here's the link: http://www.goballisticcase.com/products/amazon-kindle-fire-ballistic-tough-jacket-series-case
Otterbox Alternative for Kindle Fire
Looking forward to the Ballistic case mentioned above. Both my wife and I have Ballistic cases for our Evo 4G's and love them. Can't wait.
UPDATE: Go Ballistic has increased the projected price to $69.99 from $34.99. A big jump. I don't think I can justify a $70 case for a $199 device.

MEdge Go

I have this for my Kindle keyboard and found it fits my new Kindle fire nicely. If you have one laying around or if you can find a good deal for one, this may work very well.
Search M-Edge GO! Kindle Jacket on Amazon.

Case isn't a perfect fit
I tried out that case at Best Buy and the fit was really close. One of the cases didn't fit at all and another only kinda fit.
The problem is the edges of the case don't cover the Fire like they do for the Kindle Keyboard so the Fire is just kind of wedged into the bottom holders and feels like it could pop out at any minute. Not exactly a feature you want in a case.
I do like the case but if you're going to get it you might want to take your Fire to Best Buy and see if it fits before buying it.
I got the m-edge for the fire and it works great.

I had this for my Kindle 3 as well and fits the Fire perfectly
I also use the M-Edge Trip Jacket Folio Cover Case for the Kindle Touch on my KF. I like it. It was very, very, cheap at the local office supply store (less than half the price on Amazon, before shipping). It's sturdy, simple, and has been through a lot and is still holding well.
Also, yes, it looks like it may not hold well because of the bottom corner pieces, but I've had it for about 5 months now and it hasn't come out unless I have purposely taken it out. I do recommend bringing your KF with you to the store though so you can make sure it is what you want. It's great for people like me on a tight budget.

Have you tried best buy or target? I know they both sell KF's in their stores. They should also carry accompanying accessories, it would be most logical to do so. Also ebay always has tons on things to buy and at really cheap prices some of the times, it's where I got my case. Try calling one of those stores to see if they carry what you need, that way it'll save you a trip just in case they don't!
Good luck finding what you need buddy
+1 For ebay, lots of choices
M-edge always made great kindle covers, and still do. Due to a fight with Amazon, they are no longer sold there. I got my M-Edge cover at BJs, but Target carries some too.

A decent case at a store is going to cost $29 - $39, you can get basically the same thing on ebay for $12-$19 with free shipping. A lot of times they come with a decent screen protector for free.
Just got a TPU rubber case on Ebay for $6.95. Also got a neoprene pouch for $10.95. IMO, Ebay is the best option.
Retail, I don't know for sure, but I would think Radio Shack would carry something considering they carry the KF.

Speaking personally neither the Targets nor the Best Buys near me carry accessories for the Fire just yet; plenty of regular Kindle covers/cases but none specifically for the KF. I can only assume this will change and soon, but as of last week I couldn't find anything.
Hope you guys fair better than I.
Well, some people actually does sell cases outside, like here on Philippines.
I bought kindle fire case from store4kindle.com $3.99. But the shipping is a little slow.

[short REVIEW] MicroShell Folio Kindle Fire Cover

Hi guys!
Just wanted to share with you (and comment on) the experience on my new MicroShell Folio Kindle Fire Cover which I've received today, after ordering it on eBay for $29.
I must say I'm very pleased with this case, it's more then I've expected. It looks really good, feels solid, feels nice to hold in hands and it adds very little bulk to the Fire. The strap is useful for reading, but it's primary function is to hold the front lid closed or open. Also, I' was nicely surprised when I realized it can be used as a "lower" stand (see pictures), which is definitely more useful and also stable compared to the original "higher" stand - the trick is that you stick the front lid to the strap on the back of the case, instead to the slot original meant for that. Hope you get what I'm talking about, if not look through the pics carefully and you will see the difference between two stand modes.
All in all, I'm happy with this buy and recommend it. It made Kindle even more functional and coooooler.. ;-)
I enjoy mind as well, though I will warn you that the back of mine started peeling after a week of use.

I've had this case on my fire since Christmas. It is still in perfect condition. It's the perfect balance of function, weight, and durability.

I got my Fire used about a month and a half ago and it came with this case.
The original owner got it back around Christmas and he has 3 small children which were also using it.
When he got an iPad3 and stopped using the Fire his wife made him sell it.
I fully agree with everything the OP said.
After months of heavy use it still holds the Fire securely and it still looks good.
I highly recommend this case.
Thanks for the review as I ended up going with this case. It looks nice and the stand works well.
I..
I just wanted to say that I have had this case for 3-4 months now and I really like it. I haven't had any issues with it peeling or anything like that and I used my KF every day. This is a good, sturdy case.
This is the case I'm rocking. I think it is great, by far the best I could find and wasn't too expensive

I had a white one for me and a Pink one for my Daughter. The pink one held up much better than the white, no peeling, the white one peel within a month

Looking for KFire Case for a Toddler

So we bought our daughter a Kindle Fire for Christmas so that my wife and I could have our phones back.
Both of our phones are in otter boxes.
I'm terrified she will throw this 7" tablet on the floor at one point, and I don't want this investment shattered.
What are some of the best defensive cases out there?
I know otter box makes one for the Kindle Fire, but I refuse to spend $80 on a case for a tablet I only paid $100 for (got it used).
