i wanna get a case for this so that it doesn't get dinged up but are they for sale at retail stores or just amazon.com?

Have you tried best buy or target? I know they both sell KF's in their stores. They should also carry accompanying accessories, it would be most logical to do so. Also ebay always has tons on things to buy and at really cheap prices some of the times, it's where I got my case. Try calling one of those stores to see if they carry what you need, that way it'll save you a trip just in case they don't!
Good luck finding what you need buddy
+1 For ebay, lots of choices
M-edge always made great kindle covers, and still do. Due to a fight with Amazon, they are no longer sold there. I got my M-Edge cover at BJs, but Target carries some too.
Dealextreme?

A decent case at a store is going to cost $29 - $39, you can get basically the same thing on ebay for $12-$19 with free shipping. A lot of times they come with a decent screen protector for free.
Just got a TPU rubber case on Ebay for $6.95. Also got a neoprene pouch for $10.95. IMO, Ebay is the best option.
Retail, I don't know for sure, but I would think Radio Shack would carry something considering they carry the KF.

Speaking personally neither the Targets nor the Best Buys near me carry accessories for the Fire just yet; plenty of regular Kindle covers/cases but none specifically for the KF. I can only assume this will change and soon, but as of last week I couldn't find anything.
Hope you guys fair better than I.
Well, some people actually does sell cases outside, like here on Philippines.
I bought kindle fire case from store4kindle.com $3.99. But the shipping is a little slow.

Interesting. The Supertarget by my place carries them. I got an M-Edge KF case for $29 there.
Target carries some, but they're expensive.

My Marware Eco-Vue case is delayed.. so in the meantime I ordered a sleeve from Case Logic on-line, and I really like it. Was like $18 including S/H. Shipping was very fast.

Hey guys,
I got the tab at i/o and I've been waiting for months to get some accessories. Now it's finally available in Canada and I still can't seem to find any. The source has the book cover case for $65 but that's it. Does samsung sell them? I can't find any way to buy them from their site.
Maybe if best buy ever gets this thing in stock, they'll carry some accessories..
Thanks,
Sam
I haven't been able to find any either. I'm thinking I will prob buy online.
I haven't been able to find any accessories in Canada either. I ended up getting one of those slim TPU cases online through eBay, and a 10" netbook sleeve makes a great carry case I found
I think ebay is your best bet. I was forced to by the book case from the Source yesterday but didn't want to wait 2 weeks for it to be shipped from the UK.
I also bought the Samsung case from the source yesterday. At first I hesitated because it was so expenice, $73 with tax. But I'm glad I got it, as I really like the case. It was the thinnest case I've ever owned, after using many for my ipad.
The material also seems very durable, and does NOT show any finger grease! So no cleaning is required. Also I love the "4 clip at the corners" design. It doesn't cover any basel and I can clip my GT "upside down", which I am currently doing to also better access to the buttons. (I will never use the rear camera so don't care that its covered).
expansys.ca
Has all you need. Cables, adaptors, docks and cases.
also, the source has the book case for $54 right now, i bought it. So thin and light it barely adds to the tablet.

How? I just bought mine, and it was $65 + tax from the Source store. This is the price they have online too.

Nooo, don't order from expansys! They list items in stock and once you proceed through their checkout the item then shows out of stock. Google their reviews and judge for yourself. I was going to buy my tablet from them. Their website said IN STOCK (more than 100) and as soon as I placed my order it showed out of stock. I cancelled my order then.

The samsung case is nice, but sometimes you need to clip it in upside down if you want to use the low angle position (where the flap fits in that groove). Quite a few apps that require landscape mode will not run upside down - so if you don't flip the tablet, your view is upside down. Using the camera is also a HUGE pain with this case. Really, this should be priced at $30, not at an overpriced $65. I still like the case and it's thinness is very nice.
I really want the usb connection kit now...

I hate the source. How can they not automatically adjust the price when the sale is not their own flyer!!! To make it worse, I realized that the sale is not for all stores. Depending on which store your select when you lookup the online flyer, that last page of the flyer may or may not have the $10 off section. Wired, huh?
Luckily, the store where I bought it from did have the sale. I did have to drive back there, and get them to look up their own flyer to give me the $10 refund. The saleperson had no idea what's going on. I wouldn't say she was particularly nice during the process.
The only other store in town that still have stock for the book case was NOT part of the sale. If I pick their store when looking up the online flyer, that bottom section disappeared from the flyer on p. 18.
Once again, I hate the source. Stupidest way of handling their own sale. The whole process felt like I'm getting their to price match a competitor's flyer.

A leather case for US $1,395.00!
...at least the free shipping helps
Wow, 10 sold already!
Time to get into the "Insanely overpriced cell phone accessory" market
its too expensive for no good reason,
Damn I could buy 2.3 notes with the price of this case
I like how its design of flip from the bottom. But the price is also insanely FLIPPED AS WELL lol...

Well, eight of them sold at $13.95. Obviously there was some error after those.
The case is rubberish and so is the seller. I personally won't buy from any seller with a feedback less than 99.7%.
If you click on the item sold history, you will find 8/10 of these cases were sold for $13.95. Apparently, those two paid $1395 are either dumb as f0ck or they are just part of this scam (falsely inflate the value of this item)
Wow and I thought my Piel Frama was too expensive...
That is just a normal eBay trick. If the seller doesn't have an item in stock anymore, he puts the price high as hell so that no one buys it but still gets the 'clicks'. Ebay is filled with that kind of auctions.
Lol, insane people with insane tacts

Unfortunately they don't. The UAG cases are very form fitted to the stock phone.
That site seems a bit too hip for me to buy from...
Same problem as ever, won't ship to Europe. Main company does, but I end up paying 2x more with shippings and customs and may take up to several months to get here...
I noticed the not eligible for return comment and hesitated...
I want an Aviator, but I may wait for the price on Amazon to drop some.
its still cheaper on amazon ($25 shipped) fab is $27
Iam so f**cking mad at UAG, i order the AERO color like two months at full retail price and still haven't gotten the case. They said. they ship then out last week. Lets see if it come by Friday if not ill try to get my money back and order from Fab,com
So there are a few threads here about different cases "in stock", but nothing is actually "in stock" and ready to be shipped.
If you find a case SPECIFIC to the 2nd gen Nexus 7 that we can buy now and have it ship within a day please post it below. Prime eligible would be best!
Please refrain from generic 7" travel or sleeve type cases as I'm sure anyone looking for one of these can go anywhere and buy one now.

I'm with you. I'm surprised there aren't the usual $5 TPU cases on eBay even that I always find when a new device comes out. I always tend to use something like that for the 1st few weeks/months until better options come out. But I cannot find anything worth buying that available locally or online and actually in stock and shipping now.
The ONLY option I've found is the official Asus travel case which everyone seems to say isn't worth the money at all. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1389517282&pf_rd_i=507846

My girlfriend is going to France for three weeks on the 4th and is going to take the Nexus with here, there's no way I'm letting her take it without a case and screen protector. So, I ordered the SUPCASE Folio case yesterday, I didn't notice that it says "Usually ships within 4 to 5 days." Expected ship date isn't until Monday, the day after she leaves and I can't easily cancel the order, so I sent them an email saying that unless they can ship it ASAP, I want the order canceled. I already have a Poetic case ($3.95, free shipping) ordered that's not shipping until the 9th, I wouldn't have ordered a second case unless I needed it sooner, so I put in an order for the i-Blason case. None of the cases are Prime eligible, so hopefully I can get that shipped before Saturday... and hopefully I don't end up with three cases.
I think it's going to be hard to find any good cases shipping now. I'm guessing these third party manufacturers did not get any early access to the device, so they're designing and mass manufacturing the cases as we speak. If anything I'd be weary of buying any case that actually is shipping now as it's probably a rush job and won't fit the device perfect. Just my 2 cents.

Not perfect but I mostly want something to protect my Nexus 7 while in transport in my laptop bag to and from work.
Try FiveBelow, Big Lots, & Dollartree
If anyone wants a little protection before their real cases get shipped... try FiveBelow, Big Lots, & Dollartree.
I first got me a 7" tablet sleeve from Dollartree but went into 5Below yesterdya and I got a generic 7" folio that fits the new nexus pretty good for $5.
I also saw some cheap tablet sleeves/cases at BigLots.
It will do the trick until my Moko and TPU hardshell case get here.
HTH
Why is it that there is no real good selection of cases...I can't even find where to buy the asus premium case...why release something with no protection?
**** I went to best buy today and they had a whole rack for the tab 3...nothing for new nexus 7. All the cases that seem to look decent are not even available for the next week or so. I just am at a loss...I just want a nice flip case that ideally has a magnet that doesnt screw up the screen and actually fits the tablet...I'd even shell out decent money...
They don't want to give case makers the heads up on the design because leaks would be instantaneous, but I think if Google was smart they'd manufacture their own case to have ready at retail right alongside the tablet. It makes their brand look 2nd rate when people like us who are fans of their product can't buy things to protect it. Asus has the travel case but that thing is a joke.

The best place to find cases now is at Amazon.
Most of them come from China, but they will do the job, at least in the interim.
They're typically under $15 with shipping.
I got this one for $5
http://www.amazon.com/Fintie-Classi...id=1376113513&sr=8-1&keywords=nexus+7+2+cases
It's nothing special, but it will protect the device...even has a magnetic cover.
The Asus premium case hasn't been released yet, but it's supposed to be $40 when it becomes available in September.
More and more options are appearing daily.
