It's because of the Skyrocket kernel. They have lower vibration settings.

[REQ] Vibration settings

Hi everybody!
Do you know apps for my Gnex that able me to set vibration intensity? Like HTC native vibration menu...

Ok for pattern adjustment, but I need to change intensity, like strong or light vibration. Like use one scale between 1 to 10 for intensity.

+1, don't feel the phone going off in my pocket on the stock setting.

You need kernel that supports vibration control, e.g glados.

Great! I'll try this kernel today. I hope that work on Foxhound rom 0.6...

Kernel work fine on Foxhound 0.6, but where I can adjust vibration intensity? I found many profiles where I can switch between "no override", "yes" or "no"... But I can't choice intensity. Any suggestion?

You need an app to control it, "glados control" can do that, dunno if there is any free app available.

edit: I suggest you to buy this app, it has many good features and you can support devs.
Ok, thanks! I'll buy this app and will test it.

CM9 RC1, how to increase vibration intensity

***Second question
Is it possible to increase the vibration intensity for things like phone calls and notifications? Compared to my old rom, I can barely feel my phone vibrating in my pocket with CM9
stukovx said:
Just switched over to CM9 RC1 from CleanGB and I'm not too sure where the prompt is showing the wifi spots available in my area. I tried enabling/disabling the wifi button but no prompt shows up. Being new to the rom, I can't find any advanced settings in the menus.
Thanks in advance

ICS is different than GB so you must click menu> tap on WiFi or slide on and than tap on WiFi and there you go.
ahhh many thanks. I swear they make simple options so difficult to spot sometimes
Go into wifi settings and check notify when a network is available.

Funny how subjective it is. I wish there was a way to decrease the intensity. It is so intense it actually really bothers me that I don't use it very often.

I turned all vibration and haptic feedback off. It's pointless, annoying, and a waste of battery. Setting the phone on vibrate still works too for if I need to keep the phone in my pocket and quiet but still wanna know if I get a text/call.

Do elaborate. What's odd? What's the source of the sound? Speaker? Or simply the vibration unit?
A buzzing sound. Coming from the vibrating unit itself.

Both my GNex and DInc do it. Sounds like something loose in the case buzzing.

I find the vibration unit of my gnex rather strong. I use a custom kernel that allows one to turn it down a notch. Could help with your buzzing sound perhaps.
Its quite annoying as I got caught in class with my phone because of it lol first day of senior year too xDxD

You have to get a custom kernel and turn the strength down. I use fancy kernel and trickster mod app

LED notification....

Does the Gnex have an LED notification light? I have yet to see one.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Sure does. Its below the display. RGB too.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
The notification light in Gnex is one of my favourite options in the phone. Some ROMs provide full customization of the notification light ( ex. Paranoid android) . I've set it to flash blue for missed calls , yellow for SMS, green for whatsapp and red for tango
It only lights up when the screen is off?

The rom has to support it, and you have to manually set it up...
I installed light flow. That's how I found it. I'm running Affinity rom and have not seen it work before. Maybe the rom doesn't support it.

Lightflow has been really flaky for me (misses many notification events). The built-in settings in CM10 works best. I don't recall it missing anything.

Except for receiving a phone call . It lights when the screen is off or on. That's at least what my phone does with PA rom
I love how I makes it pulse when I charge my phone.

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
Yup, didn't know there was one also. I got the point of thinking... maybe the VZW version just doesn't have one :crying:
And then it happened...:victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory::victory:
Galaxy Nexus + LightFlow has been a great combination for me. The RGB LED notification is a must for me with any future phones.
is a full on Rom the only way to customize it? Only thing id really like to see, is for it to pulse a bit faster. The length in time it takes to pulse is too long imo. I could turn the phone on an look faster than it would take for me to stare at that point and see if there is a message.
use lightflow.

Must have been something with the Affinity rom. I loaded CNA and it works as its supposed to, plus its customizable.

Vibration

Does anybody know if we can use root explorer to dive in and increase the vibration intensity? I did this on the GNEX, but I cant remember where I found it. I tried going into sys, class, timed output, vibrator, but then root explorer freezes and fc's

Stock adjustments arent high enough. Ill have to check out ktoonz roms. It has the app built in to the kernel? Or do I have to buy an app? AOSP Roms have them built in to advance settings. I like that...

True, but the haptic feedback vibrations are extremely weak (compared to TW intensity even at 100%)

Are you on a TouchWiz ROM or AOSP ROM? Not sure how on TouchWiz, but I know it can be changed in AOSP ROMS. I've failed to make it work harder/or weaker on TouchWiz ROMS.
This thread has info on how to do it on AOSP, but like I've said can't get it working on TouchWiz.
Trying to increase it on tw roms. Not sure if these settings are accesible with root explorer or if its sealed tight from samsung

Not really looking for haptic feedback increase as much as im looking for notification/ringtone vibration.

Gotta chime in on this too... coming from the galaxy s 4g (t959v), the vibration intensity is poor on the m919.
When the phone is in my pocket. I can barely feel it when a call comes in.

This. I've missed several calls and messages already and I've only had it a week. And I'm running cm10 that gives you the ability to increase the vibration intensity. It still is very low.
But its not about how much power the vibration motor gets. Its a physical limitation. The vibrator simply isn't strong enough. (That's what she said)
