This thread is dedicated for boot animation on Lulz/Tegrak kernel and should be compatible with any other custom kernels that support /system/media/sanim.zip
Please click on the file attachments below to download. I have also attached sample pictures.
Note:All the animated work are done by other developers, I just mod them and make sure they will work on your Lulz/Tegrak Kernel SGS 2

Do they work with stock roms? If not, how to adapt them? I really like the minimal blue one

The update files were meant for Lulz/Tegrak kernel so those files wouldn't work with stock rom. I also have yet to try those script on CWM as well.
The easiest path right now is to install the Lulz/Tegrak kernel via odin from this thread

Question, are you familiar with ADB? Odin? Rooting? Is your SGS2 still stock?
p.s i like the minimal blue one also
Coool! cheers!
Your boot animation package is also available with any other custom kernels that support /system/media/sanim.zip

You can also download the file unzip it copy the sanim.zip and overwrite the sanim, zip on your phone /system/media
You can use either ADB or root explorer to do this.

The boot animation itself actually will work with most phone but these has been packaged to work with sanim.zip boot animation.
You can check your /system/media see if you have boot animation.zip or sanim.zip and just extract my sanim.zip to replace the file.

Hi there!. I was wondering where can I find the original (if there is one) bootsamsung.qmg of ICS for SG2.
you mean this ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620835
Nope, I mean the Ice Cream Sandwich boot animation, like this but in bootsamsung.qmg format. My kernel does not support .zip, its not patched, so...
ICS boot animation inside a stock ICS rom rip it out .

Thanks JJEgan! but it happend what I was afraid, seems like they keep the original qmg and use the .zip to do the other animation.
Thanks for taking your time!.
Hello, I have a new GT-I9100 TIM branded and I want to remove the first TIM animation at boot time: is it the booatnimation.qmg file I have to replace? Or the "loop" one? Or what?
BTW: do you also know where those damned custom icons are??
Thank you!!!
can someone point me in the direction of a working tutorial on how to change a boot animation for galaxy s device? I've tried searching around and replacing the bootanimation.zip didn't work. *also didn't work with the vibrant or the gs2 either* I know Samsung uses proprietary .qmg boot images with like three parts to them etc.
basically. how do I/ where can I find information about changing my boot animation?

Boot animation.zip requires a kernel that supports boot animation zip .
SGS2 forum had a load of working boot animation zips .
QMG files requires a very expensive editor to open . Though someone has done it as i have boot animation qmg non stock files for SGS2 that wont work on SGS3 as they are not large enough .
jje
Actually I think this can be done outside of the kernel, but you still need to hack a file.
I am looking to add this to VillainRom as soon as I have a chance to sit and look a the necessary files.
that would be wonderful! unfortunately I'm running the t999, any possibility you will port VillainRom for the US devices?
Also, any ideas as to why "bootanimation.zip" is included in stock roms for galaxy s devices if they don't use them?
epic fail (>'x'<)
totally didn't realize this was a thread for the i9300
well if you have any input, I appreciate it!

/system/media/bootanimation.zip
You're looking for landscape 1024x800 iirc resolution animations, googling will find you tons of them out there. Place the bootanimation.zip where I said above and it'll replace it. I'd suggest saving the original just in case, renaming it bootanimation.bak or something works.
