I have this one and I can recommend it: http://www.amazon.com/S-Line-Samsun...5DR4/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1335388895&sr=8-8
Good grip, not to big, keeps shape very well. I'm to afraid to hold SGN in my hands without it
But I didn't bought mine on Amazon so be careful, because this one seems too cheap. I gave for mine something like $7.

I have the same thing, except mine is red and 10 dollars more expensive! It's a BoxWave case...and I can't recommend it enough. You get to keep the form factor, it adds a much needed grip, and the little lip on the front is good if you want to lie your phone face down.
http://www.amazon.com/BoxWave-Samsu..._1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1335394337&sr=1-4
I was looking at the Reiko cases, and for the price point it looks like it offers great protection, but turns your phone into a brick...literally.

I have the case-mate tough case and love it. Had one for my SII and SI.

Go to Dim-Phone in Tel-Aviv, Even Gvirol, they have Case Mate Smooth for arround 150 nis - fairly strong, and not adding bulk to the phone. I'm happy with this thing. Same thing at Ebay sells for about 30$, so not big difference. As alternative - Momax cases, cheap and good.

I'm selling a case here. It's perfect for video watching and not too bulky.

I actually like the thin TPU cases, but I'd like something a little higher in quality. I'm between the:

I'm just not sure!

Can't someone make a thin case for a thin phone?

First off - let me disclaimer this:
Some people want the Fort Knox of cases. They are clumsy with their phone. They've experienced dropping their phone several feet to the ground. They want impact protection. The G-Shock of phone cases. And they aren't afraid to carry something the size of a brick with the appearance of something from Toys 'R Us in trade for that protection. No problem. Obviously there's no shortage of THOSE cases.
My problem is that there ONLY seem to be cases made for those kinds of people.
I'm looking for a case that more or less barely wraps the phone - not for impact resistance, but abrasion resistance, light protection from scratches. I keep my phone in my pocket 100% of the time, and I'm more than respectfully careful when it's out - call me paranoid. But I know from experience with [all my other phones that I've never bought a case for] that light scratches can appear over time.
One of the BEST things about the SGS2 is the thin profile of the phone - and I'm already disappointed to have lost 1mm of that thinness, but willing to live with it. With a phone this size already, I'm not willing to lose millimeters more. It's supposed to be a thin phone.
Jokes about Apple lawsuits aside, I wish there were a case more akin to the iPhone 4's bumper case - something that offered just minimal protection - when setting the phone down, perhaps a little impact protection of the phone were to fall - but not taking away from the overall thin profile of the phone with an enveloping, thick back panel. Hell, if I eventually had to replace the battery door, I can do that for less than the cost of a new case anyway.
Are there any cases for guys who want thin? Who don't want it for impact protection, just simple, pocketable, wear protection against minor scratches and the like? And - can that case look classy?
I've only seen this one, but it's for the regular SGSII, not the sprint version:
http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Ga...-S-II-Barely-There-Brushed-Aluminum-Cases.asp
Even that wraps fully around the phone and adds thickness... it merely offers the promise of being thin.
What's the thinnest option out there, if impact resistance weren't a concern?
I got my tpu case on with out the back battery cover, and it feels fairly thin, and will still provide some protection. The case is without the back cover stay flush with the camera. I am going to order another one with matte finish.
The TPU's are good and cheap too. A good holdover until the barelythere comes out...which I predict will be within a couple weeks.

The TPU-cases are really nice, and I was surprised that it didn't add much thickness at all. I did post a review here, along with some pictures.
The carbon kickstand case you can get at the store is perfect imo. The phone feels no bigger with it on.
I wish Rearth (http://www.rearthusa.com/) would make a case for the ET4G, but last I emailed them they weren't intererested at this time since A) it wasn't out yet, and B) they didn't anticipate high demand for it.

How's that sprint kickstand case? Is it the fold into a triangle kick stand or an actual bar that pops up? It looks similar to my buddy's trianglish plastic kickstand case on his tmobile GSI vibrant and that thing is a piece of junk. Fits the phone like it was chisselled out of plastic, looks like $hit.
For $30 it better be sexy.

Not a triangle but a little wider than most bar kickstands I've seen. My gripe with that case is it doesn't cover the top and bottom of the phone, it fits more like a holster than a case. And for $30 thats IMO unacceptable.
I'm waiting for seidio to make a case for this phone, loved the innocase I have on my hero and it wasnt very thick at all.
How about a stick on skin if you want the thinnest "cover" possible?

I'm using a gloss-black TPU at the moment (and loving it) but I'm really considering one of those kickstands. I've put my phone in one a few times. It looks good but for the money it feels really inadequate.
Thanks for all the good suggestions...
I did actually read that review of the TPU case... one of my coworkers has one on his 3D. In his case, it covered the camera hump and made the phone thinner - the implementation on this phone seems much better.
For the money, it's tempting to at least as a stop gap to use for a few months to see what becomes available - or I'll just use none as a stop gap, like I've done with all my other phones. This one just seems like a phone worthy of babying more than I already do baby my lifeline.
A skin... I'm not aware of any, but I'm initially cringing thinking of what kind of vinyl wrap that may imply... cartoon characters, immature sayings, dragons and swords, flames, or what? Maybe something that's just a texture or color?

There are a number of companies that make removable, transparent "full body" skins. I've had good luck with both Skinomi and Zagg protectors in the past.

Just emailed support to ask with a link to the item listed; I should hear back in next couple of days. From the listing, it looks like the kind of site that sells to 3rd party vendors, and since the packaging says Sprint branded, I suspect this is meant for non-corporate Sprint stores. Just a guess, but I will update if I hear anything back.
PS I bought the kickstand case and I kinda hated it, returned it within the hour... felt flimsy and overpriced, and it was more of a bad holster than a case; barely held the phone in and the kickstand was very tough to un-clip. I never say a product is not for anyone, but it certainly wasn't for me.

[Q] Piel Frama iMagnum vs Noreve Tradition leather case for Galaxy Note

I'm looking for a premium leather case for my new Galaxy Note and so far the only two that I've found that meet the quality I'm looking for would be the Piel Frame iMagnum and the Noreve Tradition. Which do you think is the better of these two or is there another case you can recommend that's made of high quality leather?
http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/product/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_Tradition_leather_case.html
http://www.pielframa.com/samsung-galaxy-note-cases-imagnum.htm
It would be hard to take a picture using piel one as you need to hold top cover part
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
I also just purchased a Note and also looking for a case. I also am debating between the same two and am leaning towards the Noreve since it opens down. The cover opening from the top will get in the way more. Price is also better.
Piel frama has actually a problem with the magnetic closing mechanism. The s-pen is not working there. They are working on it, and will drop the magnetic thing.
Noreve delivers after 15-20 working days after purchase.
... tapat*lked
I'm waiting on the official brown leather flip case. It looks super.

That doesn't surprise me in retrospect. The wacom pen is magnetic.
I ordered the noreve. Another benefit is without the (maybe now gone) wraparound clip, it should be more pocketable.

I saw the brown leather one in a German Youtube video and thought it looked pretty nice but that is the only place I've seen it and I can't find it anywhere for pre-order. I only see the blue, white and black versions of the Samsung flip case.
TBH, I remember getting a Piel Frama leather case for a PDA once upon a time which looks just like the one they have for the Note. it was bulky, the belt clip was probably cool then but as the Note is so slim anyway I'd not see any reason to bulk it up even further with that design.
The official leather sleeve looks a better option to me. Currently using the flip cover and it's great, but if it turns out to be too bulky for a dock then a slim sleeve would be my next choice. A belt clip is so 2005 .
Yeah I'm not interested in using a belt clip regardless if the case I buy comes with one. I'm just wanting to find something that will protect the device but also is made from a high quality soft leather that feels like it somewhat coincides with the price of the Note.
It looks like Piel Frama has already updated the case to replace the magnetic closure with a snap judging by the new photos on their website.
I bought a pielframa magnum case in the past for my HTC HD and the quality was suburb and the protection also because its a hard case but very disapointing it made the HD twice as thick and I suspect that will be the case with the note as well .
So if you want good protection the pielframa case will do the job no doubt.
But for me I wait untill I can buy the original samsung pouch to keep the note pocketable

Alright, I finally got my case.
I plan on posting a video review shortly, but initial thoughts:
It's a very nice case. It just looks very classy.
It looks much more professional than the PDair case posted in the other thread.
You kind of push/snap the Note into the case. It is quite secure.
Changing batteries might be annoying.
It does not make the Note much bigger - it adds maybe 2mm to each side.
The clip is well done and I like that it doesn't add to the thickness.
It is thicker (as will all 'covered' cases be, since you need 'hooks' to hold the phone in, and the cover on top of that).
Thickness was never an issue with the Note in terms of pocketability though.
One annoyance is that the cover is about 1mm wider than the rest of the case.
It's not a lot, but you definitely notice it when it's folded back and you're holding it that way.
It kind of digs into your hand a little bit. Not a lot, but noticable.
There is a metal logo on the top right corner of the lid. Their logo has a metal 'ball'. I'm wondering what effect this has if you drop the phone face down, since that's the initial point of impact. I might be overthinking this.
Some things probably generic to all cases:
If you use the belt clip (which I won't), you have a metal 'rachet' which does on the back. If you have that on the phone is a bit awkard to hold in your hand. It's poking into you, or if you have the back flap folded back, makes the phone quite thick.
One very noticable thing - on the 'naked' Note, the power button is higher than the rest of the Note (on that side), making it very easy to accidentally press. It's a common complaint. Now that the case is higher than the power button, it's quite difficult to accidentally hit the power button. That's a very good thing.
One subtle perk of a bottom flap is that you can hook your little/ring finger around the 'hinge' and you can get a little more reckless with how you use your thumb, without fearing dropping the phone.
It'd be nice to have the Piel Frama to compare. I suspect it's lusher, softer, and thicker, but it's also 45 euro more expensive. I'm pretty happy with my choice.
- Frank
I don't have any experience with a Norêve case (looks quite nice BTW), but I own 2 Piel Frama cases.
Soon it will be replaced with the Note, but now for almost 7 years I've been using my iPAQ hx4700 daily with a Piel Frama case.
It's really of exeptional quality (leather, stitching, fit) and still looks as if only used for a few weeks.
I also used a Piel Frama case with my former PDA for about 3 years, with the same experience.
It's true though, as written before, that the Piel Frama cases add some bulk.
But they certainly have a stylish professional appearance.

I do like the look of the Norêve case and agree that the flap opening to the bottom is practical, specifically for securing the Note with one hand (especially if you have smaller hands, as I do).
I'm curious which type and colour leather you've chosen for the Norêve case and if it looks in real life the same as on their website.

Hey,
to those who already have the case by norêve: what about the closing mechanism? This one produced some very ugly scratches on the plastic surface of my old mobile phone. So, I thought of never buying one with this closing mechanism again, but rather one with a magnetic one. But magnetic is bad for the Galaxy Note as the Pen won't work well.
So, what do you think about the norêve - will it be producing damage to the phone?

It's a curved piece of leather - I don't see it doing any damage.
It sort of bends 'over' the top of the phone and holds the cover there.
It works pretty well - no complaints there.
One last amusing thing - the case almost covers the top microphone hole. I kind of think they weren't aware it is there.
- Frank
I've had the Noreve for a couple of days now.
It is just perfect. Looks good. Functions good. Solid. And the leather smells like high quality leather, not some cheap crap.
I could not get a cheap case for a 600 euros phone. That's just not me.
The piel frama could be good also but I thought I could not take pictures with it so I went for the Noreve.
Cheers.

Video Review: Casemate TOUGH case for the Galaxy Note

How about when you put it in your pocket? is it still comfortable in there? I use TPU cases right now, and they're fairly slim as they are. But I never feel comfortable with them if I were to drop my device. They're just good for scratches, not for falls (which never happens, but I'm sure it will happen sooner or later).

It fits into my pocket alright a nice fit without making it look like i am "excited" . I am 6'2" however so my pockets might be slightly bigger. With this I literally have no worries about it dropping. I probably don't even need the screen protector on the device.
If you look on my youtube channel there is another case review up from casemate too and the phone does seem just as secure without the added bulk.

Sure mate, might buy it later i guess...
Its always good to have choices..
I have a TPU gel S-Line wave case on my Note right now.
I intend to buy the Case Mate Tough, but there are some things I want to ask you about.
How does it feel when you press the power / volume buttons? I mean... do you feel it, or it's like... erm... dang. The feedback, is it good or bad?
Also, how "slippery" is it on the top/bottom edges (where the polycarbonate shell isn't holding it as tight as on the sides)? Bad enough to "slip" off a bit when you take it out of a tight pocket, or even when you drop it...?
---------- Post added at 11:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 PM ----------
Oh and one more thing (not likely to be the last )... Did you get a screen protector inside the package? The store where I'm about to buy it from claims there is one in the package, although they don't mention whether it's made by Case-Mate (do they actually do screen protectos?) or some other firm, or if it's clear or matte or whatever...
The feeling is really good I loved it. The button feedback is great. I buy tough cases for all my phones as I love how they feel. The buttons are easy to press and the phone stays clean without any dirt getting in between the phone and the case.
With regards to screen protector, no there wasn't one and I am not aware that casmate do do any screen protectors. I usually go for zagg ones as I like them the most.

Thank you for the answer!
Then the store that is selling the case probably includes a crappy screen protector in themselves . Or CaseMate started to add this recently... who knows.
I'll buy it on wednesday. Hope I don't get one that has askew cut-outs and such, haha .
My case arrived just today!
It had a screen protector in the package... which was probably added by the shop, since the package was not sealed anymore and... oh well...
The screen protector was probably good, at least as good as those cheap ones you can get for a dollar a piece, but I f**ked up at installing it. I was planning to go down to a shop and buy a 3M Vikuiti screen protector (the vendor installed it, perfectly), anyway.
-----
The case is... well, it's bulky! It's really good, but installing it is a bit... well, it's hard. I did some drop tests with it, and the buttons were slightly off, also the lip... required some extensive pulling-with-teeth .
I'm dissapointed by the fact that they didn't add a few extra stripes of ABS on the top and bottom.... without those, those two sides are flimsy and easy to get off, you know... Anyway.
Also, the hard shell doesn't perfectly fit over the silicone glove, at least on the top side... but it's good enough.
For this kind of price, I was expecting utmost perfection, but it's good . To be honest, the S-Line wave TPU case I had before felt better in hand - also had better grip. Or perhaps I just need some time to adjust to this new case...
Also, hate how the silicone is a dust magnet.
-----
Anyway, this case is overall good. Definetly protects the phone well .
I used the case-mate tough case back when I had my Galaxy S and loved it! It offered outstanding protection from bumps and knocks so I purchased the case again for my Note. Used it for a few months but have since moved to the Mercury case. What made me change was the difficulty I had taking the phone out of my pockets. The textured surface of the case is nice to hold and feels good but it's too clingy to clothing, magnified by the size of the case's surface area ( probably why I never had the same problem with my Galaxy S). Still use it every now and again though.

The Mercury case seems to be a jelly case?
And it doesn't even cover the buttons...
Oh well. You should have bought the CUBZ S-Line wave TPU case instead, it's more good looking

any case recommendation from your experience?

An link to ebay would be appreciated thanks
What was your BEST case you've ever used and why?
awesomne your from AU too...
well this would be my suggestion...
White

or
Black
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Black-Sa...lePhoneAccessories&hash=item3a72ad123c&_uhb=1
just because they are made with that, so good grip and it has holes, so good heat??

this case is amazing and really good for the money

I would recommend Otterbox Commutter, it's a little bulky but perfectly protect ur device.

I have this case
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390496446811
Cheap and cheerful, £3, looks pretty nice and offers great protection. Not to discredit the above posters, but the first link to the ebay one is similar to one i had for my s1 which let all the dirt through the gaps and just made the back cover horrible and grimy, the second although i've never had is £10, it might be worth it but i prefer to be a cheapo
I have this glossy tpu model:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290811391137
Fits ok with the extended battery. Some play just beneath the camera of course. And on the left side of the screen, like it can't quite reach around.
All in all I've never found a case that fits the extended battery well. The "s-curve" tpu cases didn't look all that great either. Kind of like they were skewed or something, the whole phone would look crooked. I've tried some cheap bumpers on ebay but they all had the top corner cutout for the Korean S2 or whatever so they quickly came apart at that vulnerable spot. Bumpers are pretty good since they evade the whole extended battery issue though.
I have the case mate pop and it's really sturdy and great grip. Also it has a flap which "pops" out of the back to turn it into a vertical or horizontal stand. Although if your preference is aesthetics over functionality then this isn't the case for you

With the extended battery if you take off the case cover then most cases designed to fit the stock battery will fit perfectly also it's not like you're losing much protection by removing the case cover if you get a decent external case anyway. :good:

Couple of cases I've pruchased - my impressions of them

I bought these full price from Amazon since right now there are no case deals yet that I've seen.
Mustaner smooth hard minimal case
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KPEMZZS
I gave it a 3 star review - it definitely is smooth, but to the point it feels like it is going to slide right out of your hand. Also, camera cutout does not have a lip and the sensor sticks out slightly even with the case.
Ringke onyx case
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K5I9CB4
This is the one I'm going to be running as my daily driver. Defintiely offers some good protection all around. The sides are textured and offer a nice grip to it. I'm giving it a 5 star because all around it is an awesome case. Adds a little bulk but nothing terrible that detracts from the phone.
I just wish there was a minimalistic case that had some slight texture and protected the camera.
Im stuck between ... https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Rugge...&keywords=lg+v20+case&refinements=p_89:Spigen or https://www.amazon.com/VRS-Brushed-...words=lg+v20+case&refinements=p_89:VRS+DESIGN ... I know the Spigen is less bulkier ... But the VRS looks nice
I got this one...arriving today I'll reply with feedback. I had one for Note 4 that fit license and one credit card...Got used to not carrying wallet.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0EBEXZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I did a quick look at wallet case for the V20 .. there was only one model ahaha... until I find a full coverage case like otterbox/lifeproof I will stick to that. I doubt that my phone holster i got for the note 7 will work on with it though =/ It was design for the ip7 and the note 7 was slightly smaller so I knew that fit but v20 is bigger. Without the case I know it fit... with it ... errr >.>

I ordered the VRS and honestly it looks less bulkier then anything I have seen. It's a hard case not tpu so that's nice
this one adds some width...but definitely what I want.....

I'm looking for the most minimalist case possible that will provide basically scratch protection...not really looking for one that is designed for "drop" protection.
Reason for the thinner case is due to my car holder clip which barely is able to keep my previous V10 without a case stable.
I was considering this one...https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LQV7VCQ/ref=psdc_3081461011_t2_B01M0HW9P4
Thoughts?

I was also looking at skins (dbrand)...but a TPU case seems to be the cheaper alternative.

Here's a "cheaper" one...comparison to the Spigen?
https://www.amazon.com/LG-V20-Skmy-...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=P9XGTBDJ1C60ZSS01YM4
There is several that "looks" the same, but is it worth going with the Spigen?
I have the spigen crystal on as I type this. Clean and minimalistic. Offers a raised lip around the display, and offers a raised lip around the camera bump. Solid non-slipping gripability on back and sides. A little too shiny and floppy around the edges though. A good basic protector.
Sent from a TMo V20
Just ordered the Spigen Liquid Crystal Case along with a set of Anker USB-C to Micro USB Adapters via Amazon Prime...should receive them this Tuesday.

Where the hell are the ringke or spigen slim hard cases I always buy?
Is it just me or does the case selection kind of suck so far on this phone? I know it's not even the official release date yet but hopefully the case selection will get better.

My go to case manufacturer has gauged not enough interest in this phone so Diztronic will not be making a TPU case or any case for it unfortunately.
