Hey!
I'm looking for a stock GB rom. Could somebody recommend some good rom?
I have tried Arconium, but honestly, I find it really laggy, and I got 3100 from AnTuTu. What else are there?
I don't want ICS. Performance and battery life is bad, also the touch registering has problems(can't play games).
I like Cyanogenmod 7.2 but last time I tried, it had very bad battery life.
Thanks!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278758 Probably one of the best gb roms.

Thanks, will try.

neophytes rom compared to what ?, its definitely better than the default rom. I found that neophytes rom gave me excellent battery life =D
compared to NexTSense? i think NexTSense have good battery life. Never tried the Neophyte's Neophyte yet.
Oh sorry heh heh. I was in a rush a wasn't very specific. I meant between his two rom's. Anyone feel any difference between his stock based one and his sense based one?

I switched from the normal one to the battery save, and noticed a distinct improvement in battery life.
That said, there are so many contradictory comments on threads about overall performance of different ROMs, the only way to find out is to give it a go on your phone.
I guess it is fair to say that the battery save version should be better, but you may not need it....
Battery save Roms only run up to 800mhz though
Having tried both I feel that Neophyte 1.6 is the best Rom for battery.
Alright thanks everyone. I'll give then both a try.

i run my NexTSense on 806mHz only..
hey guys any idea which is best for you?
The best stock based ROM is imo Acronium, but I like CM7 more.

nice love CM7 too
Stock+tweaks is the best! Since you can utilize all features of your phone with stock only! Hence acronium or xperia mod gets my vote. Both of them are nearly identical since they are based on stock ROM.
What's better:
xperia mod or arconium?
Just tried arconium and I'm liking it so far.

My vote is for se-tweaked

No the best ROM is SE Tweaked 0.8.5 compaed to any other stock or custom build. Team it with Doomkernel and you have a superb lag free fast phone.. For me CM always appeared dull compared to the stock ROMs. And typical to any CM ROM it had missing features and poor battery.

which one of these ROMs holds longer battery life ?

With cm you also cant use the keyboard in landscape properly without hammering the space bar key which is pretty retarded imo. Also the camera sucks. Im on stock with doom kernel personally. I had a look at arconium but couldn't really see any benefit over stock rom same with xperia mod. Might give se tweaked a go though.
what about stock .62 ? anyone used it ?
Which are the best ROM for battery??? Arconium, xperiamod or se tweaked??? Only expert please and one reason thanks

I have used Arconium with doomlord kernel for few weeks now. Very good battery usage in my average use (2 days usualy). I tested few roms and always went back to stock, before I found Arconium.
SoftWhite MIUI! I love it!
i Use FXP104 an i love it, the only think i dont like is that the batterie lasts not very long
my vote for Arconium with DooMKernel
..fast, no lags, and battery drain is excellent
I'm happy with stock 042 but I'm thinking to give a try to Arconium....
Do it
I regret that I waited till I tried it, it's AWESOME!

Can I add the Bravia Engine and SE camera app in Arconium?
can any of these roms be installed on a rooted & recovery installed but LOCKED BOOTLOADER Arc S?? reason i ask is that i used to use a W8 & i didnt unlock bootloader on that but i was still able to flash custom roms in it......i m really very apprehensive about unlocking bootloader in case i brick it or something
Just a poll of who is still using GB and why?

+1 here
Great battery life and everything works flawlessly. Don't need to do any special tweaking or disabling or vodoo to get good battery life and have a stable phone.

I'm on GB too unnamed rom now.I just wish there were more GB roms out.
I am also. Because it is way smoother than ics. Really the only reason battery wise I got same on ics as gb. But can't wait to get the jb update!

Isn't it true the MHL video only works on GB also?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
MHL works on ICS flawlessly,on touchwiz roms only though, so.

I get better performance and better battery life on FI27 then 2.3.6 GB. Time to move on.. Oh and don't have to tweak anything

Just switched back to UnNamed for the weekend. When i need to 100% depend on my phone, GB is always there for me and never fails me.
Unforuntely Im a flash addict so i will keep switching roms. But can always depend on good ol' gingerbread

I keep a Blazer 4.1 always ready and load it regularly to update apps then re-backup. By far the most reliable I've had. I'm on venum Fi27 right now. Its the best ICS I've had so far.

better battery life...
I don't know if anyone is picking up on the trends here. But you will notice people basically stating they either use or in some way shape or form revert back to gb to get things done or perform functions that should be trivial. With that in mind it becomes clearer and clearer that samsungs implementation (not Google) of ics is seriously flawed. I can only pray that jb doesn't turn out like ics.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Surprised to see the support for gb. I do live the battery life, but the ui of ics is just too nice.
With that said, is calk's Rom still considered the best gb Rom? I've seen unnamed and phantom mentioned as well.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'm on calks 3.0 and I love this Rom and the battery life.. don't get me wrong, I love ics/jb bells and whistles and the customization but the stability of a gb rom can't be beat until all the bugs are ironed out... but who knows, maybe when ics /jb is really official and there's an officialcustom kernel built, I don't see gb being beat...

On Calkulin GB rom
Only reason still on GB is not sure how to pop up to ICS or Jelly a little confused and looking for a good how to upgrade breakdown tutorial.
I would've stayed on blazer or any gingerbread if YouTube and Songza were usable, no 4G in my area and those apps would just keep loading on 3g. I honestly don't see any difference in battery life with gingerbread and the newer ICS roms, only slight speed difference.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
i went to JB/ICS but the download speeds are so much slower for me on them so i stick to GB to tether to my laptop.
Me. just all around more stable and faster to me.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
I'm running blazer 4.1 because the GB data speeds/ping are better than ICS/JB. I can't stand the touchwiz super-scroll and AOSP ICS/JB still has the 4G bug. Once AOSP fixes the 4G bug I will update. I have never had battery problems on any Rom.
So I'm upgrading to HTC One X+ and painfully selling my arc S (white, 32GB).
The person I sold the phone to (I'll deliver it on next monday) is a very basic user. Almost ignorant. The important things are: have good battery life and no bugs.
It's not important to have a lot of resourses or a highly customizable enviroment, just something stable.
Do you guys think I should downgrade to stock rom? I don't think so...
Should I downgrade to a good GB rom? Maybe...
What do you guys think?

Why is it on all these roms battery life sucks. When I say sucks 8hr is bad when on stock you get 13 to 14. That is the main problem for me. When I first got this phone I was amazed by the battery life. That's a big deal to me. I have flashed every Rom for our phone some have better battery life than other but none come close to stock. Not bithing I love the work that the devs do for the g pro this is more on the line of just wondering why it is like that. I even flashed the official cm same thing . You would think because the roms don't have all the bloat and crap that stock has on it the battery life would be better and yes I have calibrated the battery and let the roms settle still same thing.

U probably forgot to flash the modem after u flashed the custom ROM. That's why it is so bad on battery life. Even so I don't like the cm Roms a lot because I lose some awesome features only the stock ROM has, I do have to say the custom Roms have excellent battery life.

Flash wootever's kernel over unofficial cm and play with the settings. Its actually better than stock. Not by much but its noticeable. Only way I've gotten better battery life than stock so far.

If you want a atock based rom there are i believe 2 already out and i have used both ofthem. They have really good performance and battery life.
You will see a good improvement if youuse the stock based roms here on xda
I was just looking at one. It seems like it is a pain to flash. I don't think that it is like the other ones maybe wrong but I was reading and everyone was having problems.
