Improve gaming performance - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What contributes more to improving the arcs performance in games, overclocked processors or better RAM usage?
What are some ways to improve the overall gaming experience of the arc? Currently I'm using the V6 supercharger, but is there anything else? I'm on 2.3.4 build .42, locked bootloader. And yes, I'm aware that the arc isn't very capable of a lot.

If you are on 2.3.4 overclocking is the way to go.
The UI is CPU rendered (not GPU like on ICS) so overclocking increases the framerate

Stock vs Overclocked

Is it worth rooting my phone and overclocking it?
Is overclocking it really noticable in performance to say approx 1.5GHz? And is it going to kill battery? Thanks

Yes and Yes to both of your questions. There is a noticeable diffrence in performance when overclocking. But it will obviously use more battery
cant say ive noticed 1.5ghz killing my battery.. might be used a bit faster.. but u can easily offset this by lowering your clockspeed and voltage for your sleep state in addition to minimising the required voltage that 1.5ghz requires, id say my battery life is probably better overall, and i run 1.5ghz 24/7.
of course your mileage may vary depending on usage and various settings.
How hard is it to overclock it? My phone is rooted but I have no experience with overclocking.
I'm guessing it wouldn't be a wise idea?
Yeah this seems a little over my head.. thinking of buying another Xperia Play just to mod the crap out of.
Dont really wanna mess with the overlocking now I think about it incase I fry the chips and kill the phone.
At 1.4 and 1.5ghz its quite safe.
To chill out the battery put some screen off underclocking like at Real low with but not the least
1. 4 ghz scaling interactiveX I get 252/282 MS, thats pretty fast with nitro lag Nullifier too

i currently overclocking my play to 1.6ghz and it runs fine.. games and apps run a lot more quicker
i'm quite interested in overclocking.. been thinking about it for the last months..
but i don't know, 1GHz is quite enough for me.. im not experiencing any slow down..
Well with 1.5Ghz then, you'll be amazed!

[Q] How to have the best score in benchmark ?

How to boost the Play to have the best score in antutu bench ?
Overclocking should do that
After overclock and new rom ?
How win speed in different menu ?
Excuse me for my bad English
What is your goal in doing this, to brag to your friends?

Yes a little bit but mostly remove all bugs from the interface

Jellybean gaming

I know that gingerbread is best for gaming but I really like jellybean and was wondering which jb rom was the best for gaming (nothing major just apps like temple run 2 , mine craft, and maybe asphalt even though that's a little hopeful. I'm currently using jellyzeus with turbo kernel. Also can someone tell me the best over clock settings and governor to improve gaming without causing my phone to reboot.

About battery life and performance on Xperia Arc.

Well, I've tried a tons of ROMs of ICS and JB. A couple weeks ago I tested a GB one, and like it too much, cause there's an excellent battery drain and performance is just perfect, no lag, never. Including with games like Modern Warfare 4, Dead Trigger (with full textures and not overclocked with conservative governor in noop), etc.
The thing here is that GB doesn't support a couple of apps that are only available on ICS+, and I'm thinking onto changing my ROM.
What ROM you recommend? You know, overall speed, great gaming, and a great battery life.
Thanks.
Read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097137. All roms are good depends on ur choice and preferences. So I think there is no recommendation from my side coz it depends on you what to chose. And its absolutely common sense that u have to sacrifice battery life if u want performance. And please dont make threads for such topics. As its against xda rules.

Xperia Pureness / Ice Cream Pureness (with installed service pack 1) ROM together with KTG Anzu kernel gives you both battery and performance. And also the best custom UI ever on the Arc / Arc S!

That.
+ There is no ICS ROM, that would have performance and battery usage of GB. It just isn't possible.

[Q] Speed up games

Is there ANY WAY that we can speed up gaming performance on cm 10.1 roms?
Have you overclocked? Try Turbo boost mod as well, and greenify all the background apps so you have nothing running when you're running the game.
Well overclocking and there are many scripts also

I can overclock up to 1.7ghz stable so try that but just be warned your phone might get a little warm so use a case to protect your hands. The phone should be okay; chips are designed to operate at high temperatures - think triple digit Fahrenheit degrees - which are more than what you hands can bear for gaming (especially for extended periods).
Overclock it to 1.5 and with performance governor ... Will have a pleasant gaming experience

you should be able to get good game performance without extreme over clocking by making sure background apps are terminated while playing. but will depend on games requirements of course.
