With the release of the G-Nex straight from google, and the fact that it has wallet pre installed, I figured I would try to add it to my T-Mobile nexus. Searching via the app wouldn't return any results, so I went to the site via the browser. I found wallet, and it allowed me to install.
Don't know if anyone else knew this yet. I can tell you that I know for a fact that it used to tell me it wasn't compatible with my device. So this appears to be new that you can install it. Just an fyi guys. thanks.

Also appears to support at&t. I used at&t for a while so my account shows both t mobile nexus and at& nexus. Both allow install whereas neither would just a few days ago.

It's been available with AT&T SIMs for a couple months now. It was also "available" on T-Mobile using a browser Play Store trick. But yes its fully linked and easily available from the Play Store now, no matter what your SIM is.
Great to have wallet on the tmo gnexus
Now if we can get wifi calling I'm making the jump to this from my g2.

So, in order get updates from the Play market, do we have to uninstall the version that was available from the apps forum here on XDA, and reinstall from the market, Or will I just be able to get the updates from the market without doing anything extra?

It should link up just fine. You can always de-authorize, uninstall and reinstall from Play Store if you want.

More than just that. There are about 3-4 of these threads going on.
The current status of tethering on the VZW version is that no one knows exactly how to get it set up on the stock ROM just yet. They gotta figure out what tracking apps VZW has baked in to catch people. The only fool-proof way to do it right now is to load a custom ROM that definitely doesn't have it.
there is an app in market called "wifi hotspot and usb tether" that enables both without subscribing from verizon. two versions of the app, paid and 2 days free trial.
Hey guys just a quick question...does google wallet work on rooted nexus phones? Because it says not supported, but I have it installed. I would like to try to use to redeem the $20 off offer @ footlocker. So before I add funds, I wanna make sure it will work first.
Btw, I am on CM9 nightly 3/30.

Google just put that there (I'm sure) due to the recent security exploits that were found in Wallet. They're covering their own asses and making sure you realize that if anything happens; it's on you.

Thanks for your answer. Does anyone know if you temporarily rooted to update to 4.0.4 manually, if you then clear GW, uninstall and reinstall, if it would remove that warning? I thought you lose root when you update. I am getting the message on stock bootloader, stock recovery.

Hi, anyone knows why we have NFC and we don't have Google Wallet? Or this app only for annoying samsung ugly cheap plastic "masterpiece"?

No idea, but I can't get it installed either. I've tried sideloading this version: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11307886/Wallet.apk (support for major credit cards) that was released on the main Android forum here at XDA but it says "Application Not Installed".
Anyone else have any luck with this?

I came across this thread earlier today. I don't know how valid it is but it looks like AT&T will be using Isis in place of Google Wallet.

Got it installed on my rooted, Canadian Rogers Xperia Ion but it won't run. (You must be rooted.)
You need to install Market Enabler and set it to T-Mobile USA.
Download the Google Wallet APK from here or here.

Yeah, I had read about ISIS. Its lack of a release date (and lack of Wallet support, of course) was what was steering me toward finding an alternative.

Hmmm, according to the PDF linked from this Site ( http://www.nfcworld.com/2012/08/29/317459/isis-nfc-phones-appear-on-mastercard-list/ ), the ion is not listed. S, P, and Sola are.
Still think the different phone providers should not be allowed to block other options. It seems like it creates an artificial monopoly.
I tried to change the name of the phone in build.prop (but I'm no developer; I don't think I did it right) to trick it into thinking I was using a nexus phone. It didn't work. Has anyone else given this a try?

Regarding Google Wallet now on the Xperia TL and 4.1.2
I have noticed an extra option under Settings > More / NFC - Wallet (operator wallet) is only an option when NFC is checked on but there does not seem to be any further menus or options surrounding NFC/Wallet.
Google Wallet is now visible and even downloadable in the Play Store for the Xperia TL on AT&T but when I tap to run it I get an error saying unsupported device or network. Pretty confusing when Google lets you download an app to an apparently non-"compatible" phone on an unsupported network. any thoughts on this? the only thing i can think of is Google is working on implementing Wallet for other Android phones so for now the app is available but won't work yet
OK Here it is the app you have all been waiting for. My Verizon for any Device, yes any ROM, any Device.
This handy little app will let you pay your bill from anywhere, yes you can fork over your paycheck to big red from the pay day loan store now. No need to wait till you get home, get the loan you needed to pay your bill, load the app up and Voila you now have the funds and the app to boot.
Posted this here since the JB ROM's seem to be having trouble getting a good working version of the My Verizon App, but theoretically this will work with any ROM or Device out there...
Give it a go, this is a MODDED version of a Verizon Built App so there may be bugs. Verizon is good for that.

This won't make the NFL app work. You need to download the Verizon single sign on engine. To make that work.. there maybe a work around for this too, but I don't know of one yet since it is now a subscription service.

Not really. If I cared I'd decompile it and the stock version and compare it with beyond compare. I was just curious how you can get out to work on any rom without some of the other files associated with it like libmotricity.so. That's all.

Not to be dic¿ but if you didn't care why ask.
But to answer your question, like many apps that require secure logins, my Verizon is nothing more than a fancy web browser. The screen you see is a web page. Turn off your data connection then load the app, when the page won't load you'll see the web address. The normal my Verizon app just stores your credentials so it can automatically log in, like storing a cookie.
Now how did I make it work, I found a Verizon app that had everything in place already, made some changes to the manifest and renamed the package so it would not auto update from the market.
very simple really once I discovered an app with a loop hole.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
As well as this little app worked, Verizon didnt like it and ordered it to be removed from the play store due to copy write infringement.
The word Verizon can not be printed in an unauthorized way from what I understand. So it was removed.

The funny part is how ever, this app was nothing more than a web page viewer that used the mobile verizon website as it's home page.
Oh well, lesson learned. Dont use their website with out permission first I guess.
Got in on the Samsung Pay beta. It is awesome. Used it for probably 10 transactions over the past weekend and only once did use it at a terminal that takes NFC payments. The hardest part was explaining to people that I did just pay with my phone at their old swipe terminal. Got plenty of questions about it. I even used it at a gas pump. I had to put my drivers license to trigger the payment, then held my phone up and sure enough it worked flawlessly. Samsung got it right when they bought and included the loop pay functionality. It finally makes a phone payment system that works almost anywhere.
I have beta as well but not as lucky as you. My Visa debit is from Wells Fargo, my Mastercard is from Capital One, and I also got a discover card. I'm hoping after the beta a lot more cards will work.

This is the advanced messaging upgrade. In messages app there's a chat settings now!
I think you guys need to update the app itself from the samsung app store.
Couple of things I'm seeing here. 1st samsung pay is a stand alone app that was already integrated with our phone so no firmware update needed for that. Latest firmware update includes video calling integration with the default dialer and seamless switching when using it. Finally stage fright was addressed with the original firmware that came installed and you can check via stage fright detector app on play store.
I believe that those that need to install (invited to beta) need to do it through the Samsung Pay app. If I remember I just clicked the app and it asked me to update/install.

Samsung Pay isn't available in Google Play or Galaxy Apps. At least, that is what I've seen on Samsung's support page.
No its not available anywhere on any store but I just spoke with the Samsung pay staff and they're experiencing technical problems in provisioning new beta users, they are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it. They said my case has been elevated to level 2 whatever that means so I'm waiting on the fix!
