Hi, anyone knows why we have NFC and we don't have Google Wallet? Or this app only for annoying samsung ugly cheap plastic "masterpiece"?

No idea, but I can't get it installed either. I've tried sideloading this version: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11307886/Wallet.apk (support for major credit cards) that was released on the main Android forum here at XDA but it says "Application Not Installed".
Anyone else have any luck with this?

I came across this thread earlier today. I don't know how valid it is but it looks like AT&T will be using Isis in place of Google Wallet.

I hear about ISIS is probably one and a half years. question is not to ATT that they block the service, my question for google is why they only support 6 devices.

Got it installed on my rooted, Canadian Rogers Xperia Ion but it won't run. (You must be rooted.)
You need to install Market Enabler and set it to T-Mobile USA.
Download the Google Wallet APK from here or here.

Yeah, I had read about ISIS. Its lack of a release date (and lack of Wallet support, of course) was what was steering me toward finding an alternative.

Hmmm, according to the PDF linked from this Site ( http://www.nfcworld.com/2012/08/29/317459/isis-nfc-phones-appear-on-mastercard-list/ ), the ion is not listed. S, P, and Sola are.
Still think the different phone providers should not be allowed to block other options. It seems like it creates an artificial monopoly.
I tried to change the name of the phone in build.prop (but I'm no developer; I don't think I did it right) to trick it into thinking I was using a nexus phone. It didn't work. Has anyone else given this a try?

Regarding Google Wallet now on the Xperia TL and 4.1.2
I have noticed an extra option under Settings > More / NFC - Wallet (operator wallet) is only an option when NFC is checked on but there does not seem to be any further menus or options surrounding NFC/Wallet.
Google Wallet is now visible and even downloadable in the Play Store for the Xperia TL on AT&T but when I tap to run it I get an error saying unsupported device or network. Pretty confusing when Google lets you download an app to an apparently non-"compatible" phone on an unsupported network. any thoughts on this? the only thing i can think of is Google is working on implementing Wallet for other Android phones so for now the app is available but won't work yet
I searched what I felt might be similar to my question, but nothing really similar came up. So here I am!
Now, as great as ICS is, I really don't feel like waiting for Big Red to push out the update (whenever they do). I'll try not to meander. My question is a bit specific and I'd love to get a personalized response instead of searching for a while. Like the TT says...what is the safest, stablest, relatively easiest way to get Jelly Bean on my phone? It would also be nice if it's a pure root/rom/whatever it's called If there are changes, hopefully they're minor. It would also be sweet if the root is recent.
Help would be much appreciated. I plan on coming back and not just making this a one time post

because i read this forum and see so many threads with the title "HELP MY PHONE IS BRICKED!"
with the body of it saying "i used such and such toolkit and i have no idea what happened"
by doing it the manual way, you know what it did and what is going on.

Hi,
I live in Canada and have my GN with Bell. I've been stuck on 4.0.1 since I got the phone; no updates were ever available.
Recently, I had to get my phone repaired and gave it in to the Samsung place here and when I got it back, it was updated to 4.1.1 (I attached a pic of the info)
I just wanted to ask you guys if all the info there looks good/correct. Also, not really sure how the tech managed to update it since nothing was ever available...
On another note, I was wondering if any of you could direct me to rooting methods (preferably on mac) / ways to change to yakju (also preferably on mac) on the version of the phone I have now... I searched and saw a bunch of different methods and whatnot, but I'm terrified to choose a potentially "wrong" one.
Thanks!
they must have updated it using Odin. is the IMEI the same or a different phone
I don't think I've ever seen that baseband before. I wonder if Samsung is actually close to releasing something for the Candian yakjuxx variant.

Before you change to yakju, would you mind dumping your radio, bootloader and ROM please? You have a new radio, so I'm sure lots of folks would like to try it out. And I'm sure lots of Canadians would like to try out your ROM as well.
I can post instructions later tonight.

You're missing several "somethings". How did you find the answer last time?
maybe i meant to say is there an su.zip or superuser.apk for it...
it's up to you if you want to answer it or keep being anything but helpful. either way, i'll find my answer sooner or later. i know it's a little hard to believe but not everyone eats, sleeps and breathes android dude. the last thing i loaded on my phone was the 4.0.2 OTA update. it's definitely been a while so i really don't remember where i looked.
So I downloaded the factory image and used the flash-all.sh script as instructed by Google. I was running a custom-build 4.2.2 that had some issues, plus I wanted the new radios. Everything worked fine and dandy as expected, but just giving everyone a heads up: upon first boot, when I was setting up my WiFi and inputting my G-Mail credentials, I heard some low-faint music coming from my ear piece. Turning the volume up, I could tell that the phone had auto-dialed that Verizon "activate" number, I guess to refresh what it needed to refresh. It took all of 20-30 seconds and was finished before I was done with the setup. I was worried because I remember people saying not to do this with an LTE device, but it seems to be OK.
This is the first time I can remember or noticed the phone doing this upon returning to a stock state. Don't know if it's new behavior or what.

What battery issues are you referring to? The battery life will be determined by your use. If you have abnormally bad battery life it could be an app with a wake lock or you could just have a bad battery.

Hello there. I am new user of galaxy nexus, I got android 4.2.1 . and I got heavy lags, I think this is TRIM problem, and I saw 4.3 solved this problem. But my phone won't update. Always says that system is up to date (Clearing data in Google services framework won't help). So I can't find exactly way to update my phone. And another question why there is no factory image for 4.2.1 even if I using it? Maybe that's a bug that I updated to 4.2.1 and the reason why I can't update to 4.3.

Why wouldn't it?

I thought takju were designed for USA, and will not work out-USA. On your opinion is it fine to install it instead yakjuwx?
Have you read the threads regarding the conversion?
The only difference is the inclusion of Google wallet. Nothing about it would cause it not to work outside the US.
If takju didn't work outside the US, there wouldn't be so many people using it or recommending it. Just go do your own research. The answers are out there for you to read.

Its a hard phone to kill. You can always reload stock and relock the boot loader. People worry too much about this. When you have a nexus you shouldn't worry so much about modifying it.
