Hi all,
After the latest 4.0.4. update I have noticed that the stock browser is not working correctly. Some sites don't load at all in the stock browser but appear fine in chrome for example.
touch.facebook.com for example does not work in stock anymore. (can someone confirm please?)
Also m.facebook.com now appears as a text type site in stock browser, but as a graphical app-like site in chrome.
Whats causing this difference? Can I work around it? Stock browser worked fine in 4.0.2 etc.
I'm having trouble with the stock browser not loading mobile websites since upgrading to 4.04. I do not have the request desktop site checked. I have looked through the browser's settings, but there is nothing I can see that allows me to change what the device is reporting (ie desktop, mobile or tablet). It worked fine on 4.02 for me as well.
Mine did good when i was stock 4.0.4 anyways why dont you guys try google chrome? Its awesome

log out of fb.. and log back in, its a bug on fb's end.
Mine has nothing to do with FB...never use it. In my case it is to retrieve an electronic boarding pass. THe page that comes up says "This link can only be opened from a mobile device. Please click on the link from your mobile device to obtain your electronic boarding pass."
The link originates from an sms text. As I mentioned, it worked fine prior to 4.04. Even trying to check-in used to bring up a mobile site, now it brings up the full site.
I've like 99% moved to Chrome from Browser, but from my basic usage of Browser on 4.0.4 it works just fine (before I disabled it again).
Download ics browser + .. I never looked back.

Does the Flickr work correctly for anyone? Mine keeps asking for my login...
No, looks like the login process is knackered if you try to use it on the GN.
Also tried a Titanium app and data restore from another device where it was working, to no avail.
No luck for me, either.
Well, I'm glad it's not just me, but I'm disappointed... I use it all the time. Thanks for the info' guys.
Flickr/Yahoo just updated the app, everything works flawless like before.
Speaking of flickr, has anyone else got problems zooming in on images while using their mobile site (m.flickr.com)?
For me is seems to open up and set the back ground black, but the image is too big, you can't scroll and you can't use the browser to zoom in/out.
Was fine on the HTC Desire running Gingerbread and earlier, but seems a bit screwed up in the ICS browser.
Still not working for me, can't login with my gmail account. Grr
Still isn't working for me. I log in through my Google account.
New update works for me. I login using my yahoo account. Perhaps it's to do with what account you're logging from?
Just installed flickr on my gn. Works fine for me. Can't find where I can leave comments though.
Trying to read thru the threads, and I am seeing some mentions of some issues. I have a completely stock Verizon GNex that was running stock ICS. After I installed JB, my phone has really declined in usability. Here are the issues I now have...
- Corp email on native email client not staying in sync like it did before. My company requires a certificate, so I had to reinstall, but since then, I am constantly getting a yellow bar across the top that says it cannot reach server. Usuallybreboot gets it back. I want oush mail to work so I get my mail without the sync activated for my other web mail accounts.
- My signal which seemed tp always be on 4g in my area is now showing only 3g a lot more often
-My facebook widget keeps going blank and I have to remove it from home screen andvthe drop it bavk onto the screen to get it to start showing updates again
What happened to my GNex. The update went without a hitch. I got the notification and it has been notjing but stock updates from day 1.
Anyone else seeing these issues. Should Ido a factory reset and try to get all my apps and email accounts reconfigured? Is there any easy way to back up my phone?
Thoughts?

A factory reset is always a good idea after a version upgrade otherwise its somewhat like flashing a new build without wiping. You usually always have bugs this way.

I have inconsistency with the LG web browser. I prefer to use it over Chrome but more than several times a day i can type an address in the bar and the blue loading indicator doesn't move but I can paste the same link in Chrome and its all good. I clear the application then go back into the browser and that normally works.
Anyone else have this or know of a fix. I have already completed a factory reset.

Yes same here. It doesn't response or can't type or won't load or so on. It happens a few times a day. I actually switched completely to Google chrome because the other browser is just not very reliable if u do a lot of web browsing.

Hey
Every time I open a web link the tab s keeps asking me to select which browser I wish to use even when I tell it to remember my selection, it doesn't.
I've installed the chrome samsung app but did nothing.
Seems to do it on both beta and the standard app.
Any ideas?
I think I saw that happen on a new tab s 10.5. If I can remember correctly it only happened when the browser was being launched from specific apps. This is on my sister's tablet which I was showing her how to use so I can't retest, sorry. I only noted the odd interaction because it happened that the browser was the first time that the dialogue with "Always" came up and we chose always for Chrome but it came up a second time and my sister asked why?
A theory is that multiple URL extensions ".html" and ".htm" and a variety of others (e.g. Streaming extensions) may all need to be added to the default app list. That is just a theory.

no as even if I go back to the original web link and click it a second time, its still asking which browser to use and whether I can to set as 'default' or 'use just once'.
After seeing a device on display in a shop, which didnt do this, I determined my device must have been fault so they exchanged it.
However the new one is doing exactly the same...!
Is no one else with a tab s having this issue?
I'm still having this issue.
It is not just chrome browser but any app where different options are available. On my other devices you can select which one to use as default or use an an 'just once'.
I fear my tablet has alzheimers.
Found it woo hoo. ...After 2 hours taking off app by app, it national express UK, anyone else having this problem try removing an app at a time after a factory reset. They've been informed!
Is anyone having issues with some apps getting pushed back to defaults.
Examples of this is when using Samsung browser(which is stock) every few days my home page reverts back to google as my home page
I also use Verizon's messenger, I set a back ground and change the text bubble colors and shapes and a few days later they revert back to default, it's driving me crazy. I exchanged my phone due to a faulty charging port and this is happening again on this one. Please notice if this is happening to you, I thinking it's an OS issue but it's really hard to tell. Thanks for any input into this issue.
So this happened to me on 2 different A50 phone, you telling me this is not happening to anyone else ?
well what can I say but, keep an eye on your Samsung browser home page if you don't use the google.com default. I'm sure it's not only me this is happening to

Com, this has been happening since the first day i used the phone. Is this happening to anyone else. I am gonna try using firefox to see if this still happens. Let me know if you are experiencing this. Thanks
Just use firefox or chrome

have you updated the apps?
I received the android 10 update, updated all apps. I am on the stock android 10 there should be no reason my Samsung browser should change my custom homepage back to Google default every 2 days or so.. There should be no reason to use chrome or firefox, i am using the default browser. This is the second A50 I have owned since September and they both did the same thing. I have a Samsung tablet also without this issue. So what's causing it any ideas? This is just Google embedding itself into every facet of our lives, Google, facebook, Twitter it's slowly taking over everything including sensoring everything that don't meet their political agenda... think about it. Social media is ruining our country. Thanks for your replies.
"This is because the browser default page and/or the bookmarks can be made persistent by the vendor configuration in the ROM. Unfortunately without rooting and tampering with the XML file, I am not sure how to fix this aside from using an alternate browser. "
