Im looking to pick one of these up. What I would like to know is the following if anyone knows.
1. Im planning on using this on Simple Mobile, how can I tell if the slide Im getting has the update already installed as part of it? Will the update still be sent if Im using a Simple Mobile simcard?
2. Anyway to install this update manually?
3. Whens 2.2 coming out for this phone? Looking at news stories about this phone online, looks like it was expected months ago.
4. Is there a fully functional Froyo ROM out there for this phone?
5. Can the expresso UI be changed to the normal HTC Sense UI easily or is this part of the ROM or????
Yes it will work on that network as long as its GSM (phone must be unlocked)
NO you will not get the ota pushed,
CM6 is stable
Espresso cant become standerd sense ui
U can manualy flash any new official update,
If you want standard sense install legend2slide beta

Is there anyway of reverting back to the stock ROM that came on the Telus Desire HD?
I rooted my phone but I kinda want it back to stock now since all videos I play lag now and internet is a bit slower than usual. I don't really want to deal with testing ROMs and stuff.
Unless someone was down to trade my rooted phone for a stock Telus Desire HD
+1 on that question
I am considering buying a DHD from Telus but want to make sure reverting back to stock is possible (stock ROM and Unroot).
I was able to do this on my milestone (Root-Unroot) via a one-click app, but am not sure if one is available as of yet for the DHD.
Anyone with more experience on this device care to guide us?
well the guide on here tells you clearly how to reverse it. It should be the same tool. I unrooted mine and it went back to stock but went back to cm7 right away
I just got an HTC evo from cellular trendz, and i tryed to update it to the new upgrade but it says there is no updrage available. Im on V 2.2 right now?
Should i just root my phone to get it or is there another way around it?
bumping this, still not updating for me
Just root the evo, then you can flash any froyo/gingerbread/ICS rom you want.
My phone works fine, no need to root it right now.
My main problem with rooting is that the GPS wont work
Rooting doesn't break gps

Absolutely no need for him to root if he doesn't want to.
Are you sure the phone is running on the sprint network? If so, it should definitely find the 2.3 update when you go to update HTC software. If not, you can always download a stock RUU and run that.
I tried downloding the stock and flashing that through recovery.iu...but it says my device is not recognized? My phone is activated through sprint and everything on the phone works fine

Rooted my samsung moment, actually all 3 of them and the GPS stopped working on me.
I rooted the EVO last night, put the new OTA 2.3.3 Gingerbread on it.
Never occurred to you that the Moment and the Evo are two different phones?? lol
Should have used my ROM on the Moment. GPS worked fine
I got this phone as a gift for my dad and this will be His FIRST ever cell phone. He is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids, but the speaker phone mode works great.
Can I root this phone and flash CM10 before I activate it on Virgin Mobile (or page plus if i decide to go that route for him)? I am scared that if i take it off stock firmware, I'll lose the ability to get it on Virgin mobile.
Thanks
As far as I know, you'll need stock to activate. And we have no stock roms, just an ruu. So if you don't know about ruus, I'd wait.

Hey there!
I have the PACman ROM installed on my VM(CDMA) HTC One V. It's currently inactive since I got a Galaxy S3, but I want to give this phone to a friend for them to use. Will I need to revert back to stock in order for them to activate the phone with a new number? Or can I just sign up like I normally would on the Virgin Mobile web site and hope everything works out?
Thanks in advance!
