I.just.f*cking.dropped.my.one.x.on.the.asphalt... Now, its beautiful casing is blemished with scars. Is there any available for replacement. I know this usu unibody construction, but i really need this seriously...

Holy s**t, I hate it when that happens.
Couldn't find anything atm unfortunately, I think OEM housing replacements normally become available a few weeks after the phone launches.
I know how you feel mate, I did a similar thing 2 days after owning a Nexus S.

Can you post some pictures up would love to see what damage looks like. I feel your pain though dropped my sgs2 and got a couple of dents and my heart was pounding! Not a nice feeling at all.

I don't think you're going to be able to do it yourself like other phones. Perhaps HTC will have some kind of service where you can pay a bit of $$ and trade for a refurb.... Otherwise it's going to be hard with a unibody.

i think a case is very necessary...
my camera lens got a scratch from sitting on my table, screen up.. when u put the phone screen up, the entire lens is in contact with the tabletop because the lens is flushed with the metallic ring.. god, this is a real retarded design.. i've used my hd2 for 2 years and the lens has not have a single scratch because the len is recessed compared to the metallic frame... this time round however, 4 days new, and the htc one x len got scratched. real.....
word of advise: need to put something on surface for the phone to sit..
put screen up, camera lens gets scratch.. put screen faced down, entire screen in contact.. higher chance of scratches on screen.. seriously, i dunno why htc keep designing phones with low battery capacity when sense eats battery like kids eat sweets and design phone with cameras sticking out all the time...
they are like the only people around who design phones with the camera sticking out, begging u to scratch the damn lens..

Its funny how people get jealous of what i get paid to do.
PS. this phone was purchased outright for our own personal use. This was not a review unit nor was it given to us. if you had any common sense you might realize that companies will not give you a phone just for you to smash it into pieces.

Screen protector - don't be ignorant to think gorilla glass is unbreakable - YouTube will show you many breaks.

I do reviews for a site and we have a very close relationship with both Samsung and HTC and the word they always use is never "GIVE" it is always "LOAN" and with that they always make use promise that the device will be returned in perfect working order. If it is damaged in anyway the reviewer has to pay for it.
galaxy s2 also has gorilla glass and it really IS UNBREAKABLE(nw I think i should'nt had sold mine )

four months ago i bought the xe and sold it for the gnex, because of the better display.
now i exchanged my gnex for the one s and now i have the problem that the display isn't perfect. i sent it back to htc because of the coating failure.
and now i am thinking of selling the ons and paying estimated 100€ to buy the ONE X.
would you do it or would you stay with the ONE S?
are you happy with the ONE X?

Send it back and wait for the sgs 3 if you want or get a one x if you want the display.

If you're a display fanatic, like the Sensation, the One X ships with two different panels. One's warm and one's cool. The consensus is that the cool is preferred.
There's also a stange issue that affects some One X's that causes graphics issues like screen flickering and dots. It's most likely s/w but you could be impacted until HTC comes up with a solution.
You might want to hold on to the One S until the dust settles.

I LOVE the design of the X, it is the epitome of a perfect phone. Beautiful to look at, as light as a feather, and so soft and smooth to touch and ooerate. And very very fast at switching between apps. And the screen size is as large as can be without being uncomfortable. Any larger and the buttons and keyboard are too big for thumbtyping.
No scratches
Tough one, if you are anal about display quality, go for the X. If not stay with the S. Much better feel to it.

Edit, one thing though. The developers seems to take on the X. Leaving the S a little behind atm. But that can change.

Hi guys,
I want to buy a new one x but I can't make up my mind about the color yet. I mean I like the white one but I'm worried that it will get dirty easily specially that I intend to use it without a cover. Can you share on your experience using a white one x without a cover?
Mine has stayed pretty clean. I use it with and without a case.
It really depends on who's carrying the phone, there are some clumsy people who just put their mobile anywhere they like, and their are some people who are just conscious who keeps thinking what if i put it here and there will it get some scratch or so whatever.
For me, just keep it balance, put the phone in a place that you know it'll be safe and neat, though i am one of the owner of black one, white HOX is pretty descent as well, my cousin has one and he is still maintaining the smoothness and cleanliness of it.
It doesn't get dirty much but I always have a case as I read a newspaper on my morning commute to work and the ink rubs off very easily onto the phone or clear or white cases. So I use a black case so it doesn't show any ink marks! As long as your hands are clean it should stay white.

I have the white one close to four months now. At first, I used a case because I feared dirt or scratch marks. But after one or two weeks I ditched the case and never looked back. My phone is still clean and I have no scratch marks whatsoever.
I have white one x no problems I don't even use a case but I recommend waitin for the one x+ should be out soon

Im looking for a wooden casing for HTC one. I've seen dozens on iphone and sammy, Its been awhile singe htc released so there must at least be one manufacturer making a wooden case for the HTC one right?????
As far as a case goes idk, but there are wooden skins that supposedly feel like actual wood

I have not seen one. Wooden cases are pretty labor-intensive, so the manufacturers tend to stick to the most popular models. You might be able to talk them into a custom one depending on how badly you want it and the size of your wallet.

I've been looking around for a wooden one as well, but nothing has really come up for me. I think the most ideal one for me would be a case that is plastic except for a thin wooden back (or wooden-looking back). I would love it if Carved made a case for the One. Their cases for the iPhone 5 and the S4 look great:
An alternate idea I want to try is to pair an aluminum bumper... with one of the wood-look wraps from Slickwraps. A silver aluminum bumper with Carved's Maple Wood skin woud look very nice in my opinion.
Depending on the size of your wallet this guy could do you a bespoke one he could even put some nice inlays on it such as your initials. Quality work and he has a very nice selection of woods I personally love American walnut. Like I said it won't be cheap though.

My friend has this case on her iPhone and its really crappy. Its nice to look at but it doesn't fasten to the device very well and slips off. Also the inlets are too deep to use easily
