Well my phone just had a random reboot and it deleted all my texts. Which is an issue for me I needed some of them. I'm running aokp b33 and Franco r141 no undervolting . I was using the lazy gov which I had heard causes some reboot but does anyone have any idea why that would happen? Probably had about 1k messages in my text inbox which I don't think is so many my old Inc held 3k at least. I just need to make sure it doesn't happen again.

That happened to me once before, also it deleted my data usage stats. No idea why. You can use an app such as this one to back up your messages at set intervals to protect them encase it happens again.
Thanks

My text messages periodically get erased without me doing it like ill click into handcent and it's empty. I have the normal messaging app set to keep threads at 200 messages. Any ideas why this happens?

This has happened to me at least 5 times in my entire life of owning this device (9 months). Thankfully i made backups of my messages. I hear it has something to do with a memory bug. Im not too sure.
Well I guess ill have titanium back up back it up daily. Its so annoying.

Lately I've been really annoyed with phone, for some reason it just randomly reboots for God knows what reasons! Is this common or even a known issue ?
Are you running stock or a custom rom and kernel? I've never had a reboot with stock or on Starburst with lostkernel.

I dunno man, if that isn't happening without some 'aftermarket modifications', umm, I'd swap the damn phone. That isn't normal. I never get reboots unless I am overclocking on perf gov with everything maxed out...and that's pretty much it. If you are getting reboots just sitting there or dicking around on the internet that would be more than enough reason for me to take it in and swap it out...especially if you can reproduce the it for them.
Thanks for the replies guys, to answer your questions no I'm completely stock running stock kernel and it happens whenever I'm online or some apps will trigger it. I'd hate to restore but I think it's the only way
Ive had it a couple times.
It started after uploading app from market installing it while I was deleting one at same time
device crashed reboot took place.
From that point a had a couple reboots within days Touchwiz error displaying automatically going to phone keypad no escape from it.
I ended up doing factory reset fixed it all is well
did you by chance take an SD card out if another phone and pop it into that phone? if so, back up whatever data is on it, and try formatting it (if that cures the reboots, obviously something on the sd is corrupt and not cooperating with the system... dont restore anything from that backup you took after formatting) I would then try a facotry reset if the previous doesn't work. if the factory reset doesn't cure it, I'd swap the phone.

Thanks guys, I installed all the apps I could to the sd card. In other words all the apps were in the internal memory and that seems to fix the issue.
I'm not rooted and I'm getting random reboots.

Is anyone having an issue with their messaging app that is in ICS? Every now and then I'll try to go into it to view a new text message and it'll crash as soon as it opens. It will keep doing it until I reboot my galaxy nexus. I was wondering if it was a bug in ICS or maybe an app that is causing the conflict.

Can't say it has happened to me, have you tried reinstalling the app? I only get crashes when I had Force GPU turned on from Developer Options. Also try a non stock messaging app as an alternative

Thanks I will try reinstalling it the next time it happens. It has been a day or two since it happened last. I have a feeling something else is causing the issue but its just a hunch.

Happened to me once, but I think its because the one message had about 920 odd messages, second and third person was around 350, and last 4 were around 25. I think the messaging app can only "really" handle around 1750 ~ 2000 messages before things get a little hazy, also with MMS. haha.
This issue has happened to me before when I was flashing new Roms. I would perform a full wipe and then flash a rom, but after I reboot, people have been saying that they instantly receive several texts from me that I sent during the last few days prior to flashing. Yesterday I boot into cwm recovery to flash Gideons uv script, reboot, and my gf says she got 22 old texts in a row from me, so I don't think it has anything to do with wiping. Anyone have similar issues?

Damnit this just happened to me for the first time today (had multiple friends tell me that I sent them a bunch of texts at once)....what a weird issue.
FWIW, I delete my texts all the time (I average 100+ texts a day) and I do not save them or do anything weird with them. Just send, read, and delete.
I have also had a similar problem... I would send a bunch of people texts and they never received them. I I reboot my phone and boom they all go through. I think it was something to do with the custom rom I was running because I switched back to stock rooted and haven't had an issue since.

I had that problem but it turns out it was my SMS pop up app that was causing it. Check ur apps

I think it was the synergy kernel, switched back to darkside and all is well

Sorry if this has been addressed before. I dont see the search option with my phone.
Everything that relates with the app is running real slow. I've cleared data and force closed it on top of restarting my phone. I'm stock. Jw if u guys might know what's up. Thanks

Might be your kernel and the settings you put in it. Try increasing your voltage by ~25 or increase the min MHz.

Mine gets slow if I don't clean out all the texts once in a while.
