[Q] How to re-enable disable built in apps - HTC One X

I disable some apps in my HOX because I am not using those apps.
What if I want to use those apps again? how to re-enable it again?

If you scroll down to the bottom of the app list (the place that you disabled them from) they're there confused me at first too but I noticed it when I scrolled to the bottom.

Install Amazon app store app onto the FireTV. Once installed, scroll down to Apps on the left hand side. You should see all your install apps.

Secure folder reinstall

Hi all,
I uninstalled the secure folder because it is conflict with NOW launcher. the app drawer is not showing any app. Anyway to reinstall it?
Thanks.
Do you mean the secure folder? I don't think there is a way. They don't like each other. I've only been able to run either Google Now Launcher or My Secure folder. Uninstalling Secure folder should make the app drawer work properly. if it's not showing properly, you man need to reinstall the launcher.

I think its through the phone's settings - not an add-on app;

Hi it is an add on app which is called secure folder. i uninstalled it and the app drawer for NOW launcher appears.
Check through your settings if there is an installation option. If not maybe the Samsung App Store?

If you want to re-install Secure Folders, go to Settings -> Lock Screen and security. Scroll down to where it says Secure Folders. This will put it back in.
However, Google Now Launcher will stop working. If you want to put back the TouchWiz, you can either uninstall Google Now, or go to Settings -> Applications. Select Default Applications in the upper right. Near the bottom is Home Screen, select that and change it back to TouchWiz.
Thanks all. Either now or secure. Sad

angka8, have you tried Nova Launcher? You can get it to look pretty much like Google Now if you want. It's pretty customizable. The only think you can't get is Swipe Left for Google now. You can have it activate other ways. Some people have it set when you swipe up. I have mine to activate when I press the Home button on the home screen. I'm a huge fan of Google Now, but was Nova was recommended to me. It looks exactly the same and Secure Folder works with it.
Strange, both are working fine together for me. I have no problem accessing my app drawer.

Auto-Arrange Icons

I've been wracking my brain over this one. When I install new apps, they aren't sorted in alphabetical order, they're just thrown on the end of a list. When I uninstall apps, the blank space stays there until I manually tell it to sort things alphabetically. I've never seen this on an Android phone, but there must be an option for things to be sorted automatically. It seems quite frankly dumb that they would remove that feature and relegate it to a 3rd party app instead.

If you are using Home without app tray, long press on any open area and when you see the red X next to the icon, you can move the apps in and out of folders at will. When you are done, hit home. If you are using Home with an app tray, open app tray, hit the three dot menu in the top right and select Arrange Apps, and move apps a will, when completed, hi the check mark in the top right and your good to go. :good:

There's a lot of complaining about this. I see it both ways, and think auto-arrange should be an option, not default behavior.
I've spent the last week slowly installing apps and arranging my home screen. I do a lot of multitasking, and having the last installed app at the end really helped me find that app I just installed an hour ago before I got that phone call, whose name I forgot and am very happy it's not automatically burried with the rest.
My workflow has been to install the app, then drag it into the most appropriate home screen folder. It's really nice to quickly check the end of the drawer for non-alphabetical new additions, drag them to the correct folders, then finally manually toggle the re-sorting. Once I check the end of the drawer and see it's alphabetical, I know I'm totally organized.
Everybody's different. This is one 'bug' that I kinda prefer.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve, but have you looked into certain "apphider" apps? they have app hider apps that install on your phone and actually need a pin you can create to access. It's almost like having another App drawer on your phone that is hidden and you can install apps into that hidden area. food for thought

Not sure why you guys dont look in the SECURITY section in the settings menu.
But my phone as a built in phone lock option, where you need the pin or pattern /fingerprint of the phone to open apps.
Also, there is a launcher option to change if you want an app drawer, or all apps on the desktop.

Question Disable news on left most home screen?

Has anyone found an option to disable the news on the left most home screen? I looked at the home setting and feel like I'm missing something.

Just goto settings -> Apps -> App management and Disable Google app.
That also disables the assistant which I want to keep.

One solution is to Disable the Google app and re-enable. This will fix your Google Assistant not working issue and news will be disabled untill next root.
