I use two cases for my SGY. The capdase jelly case and the SGP plastic case. The jelly case is more reliable for protection but the plastic case for stylish. I just interchange them depending on my mood. You can check out the stores and stalls in GH.

Or i can buy one at Samsung Concept Mobile Phone Shop at SM Mall of Asia (near telecom center) because i ask there to put a screen protector for my phone (matte) i thought that matte screen protectors are good , But i know already that this kind of screen protector s**ks since i started visiting this galaxy y forums . I thought , i lost my 150 pesos just for a screen protector that s**ks . After buying new back cover (I'll try to checkout some phone accessories stores on MOA since i caught some custom back covers there like Angry Birds back cover for HTC Desire S ( my dad's phone) then i'll try to find some galaxy y custom back covers there , Or I'll swap my old psp jelly case to the back protector of my classmate's galaxy y , or even the back cover of my classmate's galaxy y (the white one b'cos my classmate has the white version of galaxy y and mine is the black version(all black))

i'm using capdase jelly case its not heating up except when its chargin or being under my pillow. if you worry about the case to be fried up, well u shouldnt b'coz it was built to take that much heat(if its still original thou )

The looks of course..the fake one is not exact copy..
Second thing the original ones comes with free Steinheil Screen Protector..
N third if u see the back of the case the original as got an SGP logo n just "SGP Case" written underneath it..the fake one will have " Sgp Case Designed in California n bla bla bla"
N on eBay many sellers have shown a wallpaper of the original one..but when u ask about the real pic of the case then u will see..

From what I've seen on youtube,amazon even on spigen site most of SGP cases have written:

So I don't think this could be distinctiveness original one from fake.
Do you think its necessary to carry this phone in the case? I have the One V only a week and I really dont want to have scratches on the phone body - which is made from alluminium, so I dont thing I need a case. Its just so uncomfortable to put the phone out of the case everytime I want to use it. (But Ive bought a screen protector).

I would definitely recommend using a soft or hard case. I have mine for couple weeks now and I am starting to see the metal on the sharp corners next to the top of the display. The black colour is wearing off. Maybe I've scratched it with keys or something. So I immediately bought two hard cases on ebay.

i will tell you my personal experience that i bought a back cover for my one v and after 2 days of usage it heats up my phone as hell!!!. I do not use it anymore and its cool as cucumber
I've bought the Quicksand case and its nice... still it heats up quick and leaves some slight purple stain (colour of the hard case) on the back cover (chin)
so now.. i use it occasionally when i go traveling~

I dont use any hard case. it's a slim phone and I want to feel the slimness. my lumia 800 is as thin as one v but when I use hard case it looks sluggish, heavy and fat. I've been using this phone without screen protector without any scretch on the screen.
The first time you drop your phone, you will wish you had a case on it. They add slight bulk to the device, but its a reasonable trade off to avoid damage to your $500 phone.

I'm very paranoid about dropping my phone so i bought a hard case for $35. You can get a thinner gel case. I got mine from case mate and i have a little bit of heating issues.

Having used both hard and soft cases, I'd say a hard case is going to offer better impact protection. While a soft case will prevent scratches, it won't protect aginst impact damage. For exampme; if your phone fell, and landed on the corner, a soft case won't prevent dents and dings, whereas a hard case would. This of course is only based on my personal experience. Other people may other opinions.

I have buyed on ebay this hardcase and it's wery nice and good material. Aluminium case of One V is too slicky, but now I'm satisfied.
There's little bit heating when I'm playing some games, but not so much. With normal usage it's not heating.

Koodo, a pay as you go operator in Canada is selling the black One V for $175! With local sales tax that is $196 all in.
Telus, my operator wants $189.99 on a two year agreement. Canada is famous for it's three year plans (I am still under a plan for my Desire), but buying it contract free for less then I can get it.......with a contract at my own carrier is starting to make it a no brainer for me. Now if only I could convince my Wife I need this phone!
Put my 32gb card in the one V, the old 16gb back into the Desire for my oldest son....done!
EDIT: Sorry for the off topic post guys, especially while quoting a moderator! My Desire has been "naked" since the day my pre-order arrived late August 2010 ( Canada was late getting this phone). I have dropped it tonnes, banging it against my airplane's rudder pedals while picking it up, and besides a few marks in the corners where the finish has worn to bare medal, and some dings in the plastic back cover, she's still a beauty, just shows her age. I like my phones to look used though!

Thats what tripped me out, that they went to the lengths of making skeleton frames for each device and figured out a way to integrate the application of the protector using it. I've never seen that before. How many times have you (any of you) gotten frustrated because you cant seem to get the protector lined up right, or it takes a few tries.......this seems to not only make the installation very quick and easy but also ensures proper alignment the first time. Kudos to these guys! I dont even like dry install protectors but I appreciate their work and hope the product changes my mind about this type of protector and decided to show my appreciation by buying one.

I am assuming they will be the same since Samsung went far enough to keep the form factors the same. I guess tab arrangement could be different but if the dimensions are the same surely they would keep it interchangeable.

A pile of full body protectors and screen protectors which cost me pittance and I presume are of better quality than the usual cheap tat that I end up having to buy (I'm almost ocd and have to change the screen protector if I see a patch on the screen )
Anyway the metallic case does effect signal. I would estimate a 10% loss but everything still works great GPS etc and is barely noticeable. You can only tell with gps test and looking at the signal values and not in bars. But each to their own eh?

What kind of material is touching the phone? Is it the black color one? Is the black much softer (like silicone) Does the white hard material ever touch the phone? Reason I ask is I've found the hard plastic cases will scratch a phone if a little dust gets in there but if they have a soft lining of silicone it's OK.

It fitd like an otterbox commuter. The phone is wrapped in the grey rubber then you put the white plastic on. The plastic never touches the phone

I remember a problem on the old casemates was the rubber part that extends up the sides would go floppy and start to pull away from the phone (since it has no real support to keep it tight). Did they fix that? Do you have/know of a pic of the inside of the case without the phone? I didn't see one in your other thread.

Ill have to take it off when i get a chance but it fits very nice. I think the fact all the carries will have the same phone size wise is gona help out alot

Where to buy this case in Canada? Most likely because it's Case-Mate it'll be almost everywhere after Galaxy release up here.

Good question. I'm hunting for cases this weekend, and this is at the top of my list. I'll post here if I see the POP! anywhere.
I've had mine for a few days now. The case itself is great, but the kickstand is basically flimsy plastic and I'm very unimpressed with it. Given that the kickstand was the primary reason for my getting it, I expect to switch to the Seidio Active case when it is available, given that it will have a metal kickstand. I can't emphasize enough how flimsy the Pop! kickstand feels.
this is the top of my list also followed by otterbox commuter.
Ok just got my bumpers in mail today and i think they are great especially beacause all 5 were only $12 shipped. the down side is i had to get from china and it took 17 days. The back side is a pretty sturdy material and the front is softer for slipping over the phone. They feel nice and smooth in the hand but not slippry. So here are some pics i took with my old sII

They add very little bulk
The cut outs are all perfect
It protects all the edges so should give pretty good fall protection but still shows a lot of the phones beauty
I wish i had these before i dropped my phone but oh well thats what insurance is for and heres a link to them on ebay

Thanks great review! Breaks my heart seeing the cracked screen tho ! I purchased the same one glad to see that the corner isnt exposed like it shows in the picture!
Uhh 1 question or request
Do you think before you send it back in to insurance you can do a drop test since your screens already cracked? Lol worse case you have an idea how much protection it gets might as well get as most out of your insurance claim (lol worth a shot!)

How do the buttons feel with the case on? Are you able to feel the button "clicks" easily?
In the ebay pics, it shows an entire corner of the phone somewhat exposed, on all of yours that hole seems to not be there, that's a good thing as that exposed corner is what was preventing me from ordering them originally.

I have these as well! Currently using the black and orange one! I like them, and love how I can still have the feel of my phone, with protection.
yea not sure about the links pictures i was happy to see there wasnt any holes tho and the buttons work as if there wasnt even a case there. very easy to feel and click. and i will do a drop test as soon as asurion mails my new one but as of now they dont have any so i am being careful not to make it worse cuz who knows how long it will be til they get them in

Fit extended battery?
Has anybody tried one of these bumpers with an extended battery? I'm getting the QCell 4200mah battery now that it has built in NFC and I know the covers are bigger. I'm just worried about protecting the front edges from scratches.

I got my self a pack 2 tone color bumpers 5 for 12 from hong kong with a white carbon fiber back the bumpers are amazing. The fit is small lip on the front and back to keep the screen and camera lense off of surfaces. The button response is flawless, it looks sexy and it fits snug. Im so happy with this purchase. Im currently using the black and red my fav color choice for some it only took 7 days to get to me in california
