[Q] Freezing Apps - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

Does freezing system apps on Titanium Backup PRO frees up internal memory space . If. And Whats system apps is safe to freeze

Freezing = Making the app inaccessible ..it doesnt increase internal memory..the freezed app wont run ..
Basically freezing=deleting as both does the same job but you can defreeze the app to use it again..so using titanium backup backup the files you want to freeze and delete them..deleting helps increase internal memory..
Freezing bloatwares helps in decreasing RAM usage and it impacts a bit on the phone performance..
These are the list of bloatwares/unwanted apps you can freeze/delete:

[Q] What pre-installed apps can I uninstall?

Hi,
I've just rooted my wife's Desire, and I'd like to uninstall some system apps using Titanium Backup to free up some internal space for app installation. What can I uninstall that I'm not using and won't affect the phone?
Things I don't use in the list that I'd like to uninstall if possible:
Stocks
CN Thai Keyboard
Flickr
Plurk
Friend Stream
News
News and Weather
Peep
Teeter
Twitter
Also, I tried uninstalling flickr/stocks/twitter/peep/plurk/news/teeter after backing them up, but it didn't free up any space on the phone at all...I'm still getting low memory warnings. What's up with that?
Thanks.

Uninstalling system apps will not increase the disk space available for you to install apps. This is because the phone has two major partitions, the data partition at 148mb, and the system partition at 250mb. User installed apps can only be installed on the data partition while system apps are installed on the system partition. So when you uninstall a system app, you are actually only freeing up space in the system partition instead of the data partition and you cannot use the system partition to install apps. Thus, you do not get any additional space and will still have the low memory warning.

Hi guys
I understand that,to uninstall bloatware apps u install titanium backup and uninstall, via that.
But what about apps that u want to add, so that when you reset the phone it will be,automatically be there as standard
You can also use titanium backup to "convert to system app" which should do what you're asking about. You can also move the app to the system apps directory using system restore (search about incorporating system app updates into the rom to save space).
But honestly, why would you want to ADD MORE apps as an immovable system app unless you're building a ROM? Don't bother with the hassle, just leave it as a user app and make a titanium backup of it.

Handy Play Store Apps for making more space and shifting apps about

I found I had to trim some space of my Galaxy Ace work phone installation (Jellaxy), I forced some apps into system memory to save on space as well, with the hand of a few useful store apps I discovered, no use for you clever dev's, but for mere mortals the following we useful for me:
Root App Delete - Allows you to freeze and/or unistal system rom apps in rooted areas
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zsj.android.uninstall
/system/app mover - Allows you to move some smaller apps into the system rom, handy once you trimmed yours back according to taste
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.systemappmover&hl=en
And on a lesser note, if you are sick of having lots of individual; move to sd apps, cache cleaners etc. then Super aTool 10+ is handy all in oner:

Actually everything you've mentioned can be done by Titanium Backup

Sorry, should have mentioned that these have helped in cases where Titanium had failed me

Titanium Backup issues

It always gets stuck when trying to restore my apps. I have to go into the market, install the apps and then restore the data. Otherwise it just keeps saying trying to restore for hours on a single app. Tried in both batch and by selecting single apps. Never had a problem before this phone.
Second issue. I have a game, Bard's Tale that is around 4GB's large. I like to keep several backups but I don't want that app backup every time because it's size. I actually don't wish to backup the app at all, just the data. Is this possible because it is really taking away my space. 4GB's to play the game and 4GB's for every backup. I have other games that around 1 to 2 GB's in length with the same problem.

1.Go to Setting / Apps / All / select Titanium Backup / Clear Data / Unistall / Reboot / Redownload it
Then, try again restore app with it
2.For The Bard's Tale, u just backing up the game with Titanium Backup, after that u just go to Sdcard and find Titanium Backup Folder, if u backup an app Titanium Backup will backup with 3 file ,
1st.App
2nd.App Data
3rd.Backup Log

I tried to clear data and uninstall and rebooting. But I'm still getting stuck in a neverending loop with some of the same apps during restore. My first time installing my apps on my GN2 I didn't even try to restore them via TB. Instead I used the market and just added the data to the ones I needed the data for so everything would work. However, now I'm noticing that the restore isn't working.
As for the second part dealing app and app data. I think it is stupid they don't give us any control over what gets backup. This makes me wish to have a second script that goes back behind TB and delete all the apps that I don't wish to keep in the backup.

App on a dedicated partition

Hi everyone
Is it possible to install app on a dedicated partition on my sd?
My scope is to not install everytime the same apps, but I can store them on the sd...
Is there a guide?
Thank you in advance,
.Fè
Hi,
not as far as I know. One could - having a rooted system - place part of it on the extSD using Apps like Link2SD for example. But anyway the app has to be reinstalled after a factory reset.
You could use Helium backup from PlayStore to easily backup Apps and App data from your internal SD and restore them after the system is reserved. Without root this app allows backups for all installed apps but system apps. Having a rooted phone you could backup system apps and settings as well.
Send from my coffee machines swarm intelligence.
Thank you, mate
