Sprint name change&aosp mms

Is there a way I can change the pull down menu and lock screen banner from Sprint to anything I want ,if so how do I go about this? and when im on aosp roms i cant recieve mms only in sense roms which i dislike.I read somewhere something about iptables (idk ima mid level noob) have to be supported.MY evo is not on sprint f.y.i any help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure about SOAP ROMs ...
Took me, also, about 7 seconds of searching.
And as for your dial codes, EPST, I haven't heard of any AOSP ROMs doing as such ... though I'm pretty sure I've read that you can do as much on the AOSP ROMs with the Nexus ... but as for a port for MIUI or CM7 ... don't think so. I hold the right to be wrong, though, on that front.

If you're on Metro, I believe that still works. I can't be bothered to actually look. Time to utilize that Google search! As for another carrier ... Its not like he is on a major.

my mms url settings in a sense rom and save them,then flash to new rom to restore thats it everything else works

RIL/Radio for Three Network

I cannot seem to find a Three Network UK radio/gsm to flash my phone to the latest one. It seems like everytime I am using an AOSP ROM or ICS Sense the data network goes off and on and sometimes off perm and I have to restart it to get it back. It also drains a lot of my battery. Are there any Three Network RIL latest ones that I can flash?

Search for it on Google, not too sure. I have stock RIL and I've used IceColdSandwich before, worked like a charm

I found something on htcdev, is called H3G but it comes with the ROM, kernel and everything. I dont want that only the radio. Anyways, I am going flash the latest Radio 12.68.60.29_26.16.04.09_M. Are you using it on Three Network as well?

I still have crap battery life. I cannot understand what it takes so much over the data network. With wireless works fine, does not drain as much as data network. I am using Facebook, Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Mail-Push and thats it.

[UPDATE] MMS using 3G ROM Issues (Galaxy S3 ATT)

[UPDATE] Here are the roms that it does work on:
- Ariel
- Kyan
Rom's it does not work on:
- Ultimatum
- Tuchmi
- Diet
Ultimately, because Ariel doesn't have many of the bugs that Kyan does and because it has features I miss (long-press notification icons works, etc.) I am sticking with that. It's a really great rom.
[UPDATE] After switching back to Kyan from TuchMi, I found 3G picture messaging does work again. I then tried DIET and it doesn't work on that rom. The only real difference I've noticed is that on Kyan, there is a a fourth option for network mode that includes LTE, even though I don't use that mode.
I'll try stock next.
So if anyone else has had this issue, you may want to just try a different rom. I do not want to continue using Kyan because it frequently and intermittently freezes when switching from portrait to landscape, because Chrome has display issues, and because long-press doesn't work for the notification icons.

I am using my old data plan and internet works fine. I am using wap.cingular as my APN. I can get online fine.
However, people are sending me pic messages and I am clicking 'download' and it isn't letting me download them.
I've tried what I thought were the correct Cingular MMS setting and the correct ATT settings.
Any help?

what rom are u using? btw have u tried going into settings>more settings>mobile networks> and enable use packet data?

i would strongly recommend you switch roms, to see if that fixes the issue, has it always been like that?

Er, not always. I guess it stopped working after the last. I will switch to STOCK. I had kyan but it frequently crash/froze when switching from landscape to portrait.
What are the correct settings for me to have, anyway?

Question about MMS & Wifi

I remember in the stock cdma one v ROM that mms text messages could be downloaded through WiFi but in some of the ROMs that i had used ex: cm10 i couldn't download these mms files. They could only be downloaded through data. Is this normal or is this only a special function from the stock ROM that other ROMs can't do?

It doesn't work on AOSP. Only Sense. And it doesnt work at all on gsm

I use sense,
it works on gsm phones, it doesnt really download through wifi, it uses data, but with gsm phones it works while on a phone call, but on sprint or metropcs it doesnt.. it doesnt work with cdma phones...:crying:
but while wifi is on, some people have problems sending or receiving mms... on my htc one S... with the latest tmobile rom ver 2.35, i wasnt able to send or receive mms while my wifi is on...
that is while im on the ver 2.31 euro rom, because it works without problems...
with gsm, i can be on a phone call and using my bluetooth, I can use data at the same time, ..:good:

Because gsm and CDMA work diff. As for WiFi over MMS it does work with a mod on sense ROMs for CDMA. No it doesn't use the data connection. It physically sends over WiFi.

Can that mod be used on jellybean roms? (CDMA)

So what I did when I had this problem, after putting a new rom on my phone was going in to settings>mobile network>access point names. I then went to menu and "New APN" I looked up my service providers APN and put in the info I was given from my service providers website and it worked
I have the HTC One V Primo U and I use Koodo as a service provider
my phone is a GSM and I'm using the mySENSE-v RC3.5 rom with titanium-kiss-usb kernal

You should be able to go to google and look up your carrier APN like, when I searched google for my carrier i just searched "Koodo APN" and then when to one link that went to Koodo's web site

Data no voice after custom ROM

Hi I747 that I unlocked to T-MOBILE. Stock with root and editing apn setting works great. LTE, voice work but when I try and install a rom I lose voice. Ever call immediately ends with status of cancelled. Ability to edit apn natively no longer an option, had to download a 3rd party app to access menu. Got lte no problem, but voice, sms and play store access all broken. What am I missing or doing wrong? Thank you

Type this in *#2263# choose automatic. If this dosnt work and you get invalid MMI code then go to settings under the data column go more. And change your network mode from lte to automatic or lte/gsm/wcdma
This is a problem with the lte networks that was supposedly fixed but wasn't.
If problem persist make sure you have the right access point name (under more network options) call your provider and ask for the correct APN

I'll give it a try. That was what was odd. Access point name wasn't an option under more network options. Was able to choose network mode. Had to download an apn settings apk to get into menu. I'll try the code listed above. But an att Rom shouldn't break my access to tmo network, that right?

It should not. Most d2 devices are under the d2 common cm10.2 settings. However I do advice you to find a d2tmo ROM as they are different from hardware to hardware. If you have an i747 it shouldn't mess with it too much.
As stated before although most d2 devices are built with d2common source that does not mean all ROMs will work with your hardware or won't be extremely unstable. I've had d2tmo and d2mtr ROMs work with my hardware.
Again if you have a i747 it shouldnt matter too much

Ok. So grabbing a sgh-I999 or whatever model tmo s3 is will likely be compatible? What specifies a d2tmo or att device? Is it the kernel or the radio or other. Wonder if I push model specific Rom then push d2tmo kernel or if it will even matter. But thanks I have stuff to try.

You will most likely brick your device then. The hardware is what makes it different. Do not trust what cwm as a wrong version of cwm can be installed. I strongly advice against flashing wrong firmware as you can brick your device (especially kernels)
