Ok this is similar to an issue I.am having. Well not really an issue but a question will flashing my carriers csc file I got from the jedi rom forum. Interfere with our negate any of the features of the sky note room I currently have running on my phone. The only reason I wanna flash it is because my bell mobile tv app will not.work without. At least it seems that way because it does not recognize my device correctly.

You could make a backup and try editing your build.prop. That usually works. If i remember correctly you need to edit the following lines.
ro.product.model=SGH-I317M
ro.product.name=t0ltevl
ro.product.device=t0ltecan
This worked for many running custom roms on the S3. Remember, make a nandroid backup first just in case. These lines taken right off the stock rom on my phone with mobile tv working.
So I tried to flash Baked today.It's installed and works except I cant connect to the network.I'm with Videotron and its looking for a sprint network . What do I do?
Thanks
Find the APN settings for your carrier and make sure there the same as the ones selected in the settings.

I have a solavei SIM, and have for quite some time, never had any issues. All of a sudden I can't send mms, I've tried all the apn's and even factory reset, all the way up to odin the phone all the way back. I still can't get mms to work. Someone please help. The phone is tmobile s3, locked, never had any issues, not rooted.

Sorry, never heard of solavei....
If it just happened randomly, then it's probably on the carrier side. Call and see if they made any changes recently that could affect this. Otherwise, I'm just not sure.

I don't I'm puzzled by this. I had someone look into it for me. The only thing they could come up with was my phone is T-Mobile kicked do they can't help me.. yet they're a T-Mobile mvno

I'm actually wondering if it could be T-Mobile's fault....sorta. with all of their recent changes and network upgrades, couldn't it be possible that some important things are now different, but your carrier has no idea about it as they may not have been informed? Or maybe something like this wasn't expected. It's just a guess of course, but I know the primary apn changed in markets where T-Mobile deployed LTE. Maybe other things changed too?
I know you said you tried the different apn's, but try the file linked below. Rename the current apns-conf.xml with .bak and copy this one over. It's in /system/etc/ I believe. Then reboot and see if it helps. It's all I can think to try right now. But this has only the new T-Mobile apn. All others are removed.

I'm using Solavei just fine make sure you APNS are setup properly and that you save and select the apn to use. Dont just press back. You can download the solavei app to set up your phone if you still cant figure it out.

I've done ask that, I've used the configuration sms, I've used the setup app, I even used the imei specific lookup on the help section on solavei.

Do you have any screen shots of the non-lte s3 apn's? It's my understanding there is multiple needed.

Yes, you need root to do that.

That kind of sounds like it could be an account problem, just a guess though, but it would make sense. Maybe go to a local store and ask.If you can try one of their SIM cards in your device.

The play store started working again but I can't solve the mms problem, I don't like using the 3rd party app

If you're stock, not rooted, there's not a lot you can do. Chances are it's an issue on the carrier side still. Have you tried your SIM in another device? Tried a new, or someone else's SIM?
Sent from my SGH-T999V using Tapatalk 4
Well I can still send mms if I use a third party app, without having to use Wi-Fi.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk now Free
Usually a stock sms/mms app sends via the carrier, so it goes over a secure line through their servers....or something similar to that. Hard to explain. 3rd party apps don't care about your carrier and just send over the internet, be you connected via WiFi or mobile data.
Sent from my SGH-T999V using Tapatalk 4
Oh ok, that makes sense. But I'm about to cry. This has been frustrating. I've even been as far as going odin using the official tar and updating ota.

I know, and I understand the frustration! But those are some of the very reasons why I think it may back a carrier/account problem.
Sent from my SGH-T999V using Tapatalk 4
Fixed it! Had to modify the solavei apn. Basically mms proxy had to be black, had to change authentication type to none, add the ,supl,mns,admin,hipri whatnot. Basically even though this was suppose to be imei specific, it was incorrect.

I ported my phone to straight talk from sprint and my data is working but the speeds are very slow. Straight talk told me to manually enter APN settings they provided me but it's not where it is supposed to be under the mobile networks settings. LG support told me it should be there and if it's not that Sprint has removed, hidden or disabled it. Does anyone know how to access APN settings on this phone?

I'm not sure because Ive never had to do it on this phone. I know Sprint has removed/hidden/disabled it. Certain 3rd party messaging apps will allow you to change the apn settings but I dont think it's system wide. I'm not by my phone currently so I cant test this right now but we do have a hidden menu. From your phone dial 3845#*970# to access the hidden menu.
If apn settings aren't in there you could always try a different rom. You would have to be rooted and unlocked with a custom recovery but most of them will allow you to change the apn settings. If you go that route, head over to the original development section for our phone and read the root guide by engine95 found there VERY CAREFULLY. Sorry if this isn't much help but like I said, Ive never had to do this because I'm still on Sprint Stock.
I tried some apps but they don't work on android 4+ they say and I've tried some secret menus with no success. Can't remember if I tried that one or not. Ill check real quick. I am rooted but I've been hesitant to switch Rome since stock works so well but I may have to look into it. Can anyone recommend a hassle free rom?

Yeah I was worried it wouldnt be in there. Most roms have some slight issues, I prefer stock myself and have been modifying it manually. Cyanogenmod 10.2 is probably your best bet though. It's based on Android 4.3, CM 11 is 4.4 based and mostly smooth but still not labeled as stable.
EDIT: Just make sure you make a full backup of what you have now in TWRP. I'd use TWRP 2.5.0.0 btw. Backup all partitions so if something goes wrong you can restore it back. And follow the install directions for CM precisely. Good luck!
try thisOffline SIM APN Database Otherwise consider using a custom rom or even a stock variant.
I'm not sure that database will help me since Sprint is cdma, but also I already have the correct apn settings from straight talk. My phone just doesn't doesn't have the option to input them thanks to Sprint. Cell providers really need to stop locking people in at this point. If your services were good and your price was competitive then people would stay with you, without the gimmicks. Sorry to rant I'm just really sick of all the cat and mouse games of unlocking a phone. I think I probably will just use a custom rom since my phone won't have anymore limitations after that, but that is still more work than I wanted to do just to change apn settings. Thanks for the feedback guys!

I have heard of other apps not having much luck with changing apn settings for us. Even tho I dont currently need it, thanks for the heads up!
It didn't change it for me. It said ICS or later prevents it but it did allow me to open the menu which was good enough for me. Still having a problem where after a reboot it keeps creating the sprint apn after I delete it but I figure that's baked into this stock rom somehow. Prob still be switching roms but I will play with it some more. It also keeps trying to reactivate on sprint but I was glad to at least see the menu. If it were not for some clever sprint engineers that app would have worked perfectly.

Have a M919 (Tmobile GS4) using the CMInstaller I was able to install CM11 on the phone. WIFI works data and voice doesn't. Most thread discuss modifying the APNs, mine look okay (compared with APN settings). The one option "CDMA subscription" I am not able to change it from NV to RUIM/SIM. Even if I select RUIM/SIM it goes back when I check if the change was kept. Also Reboots clear my IMEI and other info but it returns after being on for a while.
My main issue is getting voice/data working. Toggling airplane mode doesn't change anything. Im currently using the LTE/GSM/WCDMA network type. The APN's look good and the SIM data does eventually show up any suggestions on setting RUIM/SIM and keeping it or suggestions in general are welcome. Thanks
Are you using the mk2 modem?

m919 modem?
Thanks for the reply..CMinstaller took over the entire installation and I thought the kernal would include a modem. If you have found a way to get voice/data working please share the knowledge.
I noticed my kernel version and cyanogenmod versions look different.

Did you have to install other things after the CM installation to get the data/voice working? Or did your version of CM work just fine?

I've been flashing the nightlies. No need to do anything except for flashing gapps.
That might be a good thing to do: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Jflte_Info
