Why Mugen Power Batteries very expensive ? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I cant understand guys. Look this :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-EXTENDED...ccessories&hash=item231c5250d5#ht_1701wt_1396
This one is includes 2 battery and price is 20 $.
but look this too:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mugen-Power...ccessories&hash=item519c5cdeb4#ht_3119wt_1396
this one is mugen power. Includes 1 battery and its 88 $
why ??

It could be because anything that ships out of Hong Kong or any other part of China is super cheap, as opposed to the Mugen Power battery being shipped out of the United States.

Is there any performance difference between this two batteries ?

I can't say, personally, whether there is or isn't. I have a Mugen Power battery (won in a contest), and I can confirm that it lasts much, much longer than a stock battery. I would assume the two batteries, being the same capacity, would behave very similarly. The only thing that would cause them to work differently would be the quality of the products, themselves.

I have been using a set of batteries very similar to the
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-EXTENDED...ccessories&hash=item231c5250d5#ht_1701wt_1396 ones and have never looked back on the order. Battery life is easily 2-3 days now without a charge over night depending on use.
I would recommend this to everyone I know who owns a Xperia Play.

It's impossible because protective cases are only meant for stock phone(as in w/o extended back cover). You could use a pouch though, but that's not what you want right?

Which snap do you have? If it's the CDMA version i would doubt it because it comes with a new back cover and the cover might not fit yours.

Yes the battery fits, but no the battery cover doesn't. A battery cover specifically fitting the snap will be released later this month yay!
Are there any batteries out there that are the same size as the factory one but more capacity? Like 1800ma?
Yep, go to mugenpowerbatteries.info and search for the Touch Pro2 battery 1800mAh. That one will fit.

There is no point for only 300mAh to pay 35 USD. This only in case you need a full replacement.
If we calculate that 1500mAh hold for 3 days, 1800mAh wil hold for 3,6 days, this means 72h vs 84h. Not semnificative!!!!
The second one, with 3500mAh it is to bulky!!!!

I will buy another battery option from seidio and will review here later.

my last review:
The product is have same capacity like HTC snap OEM battery, and mugen battery performance is more poor than OEM battery,
Just to share my experience with this 1800mah battery which I use for a couple of weeks now. Being a power user my original battery lasts about 6 to 6.5 hours, but with the mugen battery I can just manage a full working day without having to recharge during my work.

New case with Extended Battery and kickstand. . .

With the Samsung Galaxy Note being in the news as of late, possibly headed to the US and getting ports of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or CM9 already I figure I’d let everyone know about an awesome accessory and extended battery for the smartphone tablet hybrid. From Mugen Power we have the 4500 mAh extended battery — awesome right?
When the Galaxy Note was announced having a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and a huge 5.3″ screen I know many were worried about battery life — myself included. Samsung assured everyone they had that covered and indeed they do. Offering the Galaxy Note with a huge 2500 mAh battery that should last all day for most users.
For those that want to watch movies, draw portraits with the S-pen stylus technology or just love using that brilliant and bright 5.3″ Super AMOLED HD display all day long we have you covered. Mugen Power is offering a massive 4500 mAh extended battery for the Note — with a replacement battery cover and built-in kickstand. Now you can watch movies on that huge screen hands-free, and it will last for more than a few hours too. It adds to the thickness obviously, but not too much if you ask me.
If you’ve not heard of Mugen Power don’t worry because we have and they are great. This isn’t some cheap knockoff claiming 4500 mAh — this battery should give you a massive boost in battery life. It does come at a pretty penny and definitely isn’t cheap. Being offered in white, black, and red for a price of $109. If you truly need that much battery life head down to the link below and get your own today — shipping in a few weeks.

If a TPU case comes out that fits it I'll buy one. The Note if far too precious to go unprotected.
In the meanwhile I'll continue using my S-line TPU case and use spare batteries instead.

werd.... too much for a standup case.. i am sure there will be similar counterfeit soon.
It would be great if manufacturers tried to maximize the power of a battery
that would fit the default space.
Rarely have I come across batteries that really perform better but are still same size.
It's always more or less the same.
This battery you are offering seems awesome, with that kickstand.

If Mugen was really market savvy they would have released a case of some sort - just an edge bumper would have been great. So I am torn between wanting the battery and needing to protect such an expensive phone.
I wonder how much is the actual power on that 4500mAH is just a marketing number for sure.. maybe 3500 only?

I wonder if those metal "window frame" "cases" that sell on ebay for $38 from Taiwan wil fit with the extra back. They only go around the edge and protrude a couple of mm on screen side. If they do then it might be just enough.
But i'd prefer an Otterbox/Seidio case with holster!

Which extended Battery to buy?

I'm looking to buy extended battery for my Galaxy Nexus GSM version. What I understood is there are 2 types of batteries.
1. Samsung's original ones.
2. Aftermarket
Since I will use it as my main battery I won't hesitate to invest my money for good and reliable battery.
Can you tell me which one is good ?
Besides, do we have to change the back cover too ?
*Takes a breath of fresh xda air realizing I haven't been here since the first few months after purchasing my Google Nexus One*
I'd go with the one provided by Samsung. You said you didn't mind spending money on something reliable. You might as well go with the Samsung one, I think, instead of risking it with an aftermarket battery.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Sam...ps=63&clkid=5658003192285006270#ht_4968wt_905
If you go with the normal 1750mAh you use your existing cover, but if you go for the 2000mAh you have to use a different cover, and with your standard battery you can always just stick a thin piece of expanding foam to use with the new cover instead of carry two covers around.
I also found this one
http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challe..._cd=EN&pos_class_cd=90000001&pos_class_kind=T
Looks good.

If I havent seen this thread in every model phone I have ever owned during my time on XDA LOL . With that being said stock or manufacturer made extended battery is always a good route to go with . Second in line is Seidio and or Mugen(spelling) . I have had Seidio's aftermarket extended batteries in the past . Their bigger cells (3500-4000) mah batteries have never failed me . I have had their "extended slim" batteries and after switching phones I pulled the sticker on it . It was the stock size Mah for their extended slim batteries . The sticker must add extra juice and the sticker price lol . Lastly you will come across the ebay / Hong Kong batteries . The ebay and HK batteries I would stay away from . Seidio and Mugen puts some level of quality control into their batteries in forms of testing and development . Also they provide accessories to fit their bigger batteries (everyone needs to make more money) . Wrap up : If you want to keep the phone its current size go stock or stock extended (adds alittle more thickness but its barely anything worth mentioning but some after market accessories will not fit "Correctly" . Or if you really want staying power go with Seidio 3800 mah or whatever Mugen has cooking up in their kitchen . Hong Kong and Ebay hell stay clear of you wont see much performance out of them . At first you will but then the "extended" life will fade quickly .

Sucks that this won't work with the Ringke cases.
Another thing to watch out for. If you go with an aftermarket battery you will probably be giving up NFC. The battery has to be NFC enabled or you'll lose the functionality. All of Samsung's batteries for the Nexus are NFC enabled, I'm not sure that any aftermarket ones are.

Extended Batteries... Mugen vs Original Samsung

I am looking to keep my white GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus naked as the bulk is just too much, and I need as much comfort in my hand as possible...
That being said: does anyone want to chime in on how the Mugen extended battery is performing compared to stock and/or the original Samsung /w battery door?
I have the original samsung extended battery, but no white door to put on...
Thanks guys.
One thing to note if you are buying a replacement battery... the NFC antenna is built into the battery. If this is a feature you use, make sure your new battery has it.
I am waiting for my 4000mah mugen battery including nfc. But would also love the pogo car dock.. Too bad in does not fit anymore with the New battery..

Both will give you about 80% of the capacity they put on the label. Everyone else will give you much less than that, 70% tops, and often half or less.
I think these cheapo $10 3800 extended batteries on ebay are pretty good if you come in with the right expectations.
Yes, we know they aren't 3800, and are closer to 3000, but that still gets you about 1000mah more than the stock battery.
Yes, they lose their capacity over time more quickly than a genuine battery, but you should treat these types of batteries as disposable.
Buy one for $10, use it for 6 months and then buy another one.

The only thing that keeps me away from buying them is that batteries, in a general way, are pretty dangerous for the environment, specially cheap ones. And I wouldn't like to make that kind of waste buying several batteries.

it adds a little thickness but not that much, actually you won't notice any difference while holding it and using it with one hand
the only downside is the back cover, I don't know what its called in English , but the tips thats go in the phone body can easily be broken
( look at the image i circled the thing as an example - the photo not mine )
what do you think about this?

That's a Samsung battery. He said he is using Seidio. He used that picture to illustrate a point in his post.

Could I trouble someone to measure the thickness of the Seidio 3500 for GSM? Looking to get one, but want to see if I can do a little modding to fit it in a case without using that unsightly back door. From the comparison pic above, it seems to be a hair over double the thickness of stock battery. Correct?

Official Samsung 3000mAh extended battery arrived

Just got the Samsung extended battery for my gs3. took almost 2 weeks for shipment from UK.
Awesome thing is that my existing case, which i got from Spring when i bought the phone, fit. Its a very tight fit, but it does fit. Battery is slightly heavier and the phone is slightly bulkier, but still feels nice. I will test out the battery for a few days and see how it performs, the results will be posted here.
For now, here are some pictures:

Just out of curiosity could you take a pic of the backs at an angle to show the difference in size?

The difference is 2-3mm. Its very minimal. So small that I can fit the case I bought for the phone with original battery. The case is hard rubber, but does stretch just a little.
Without power saving mode.

Ya, I was in the woods collecting stuff.
What day did you order and what shipping did you use?
It would be interesting that somebody be brave enough to disassemble the battery to see how much plastic is added.
I seen in Galaxy Nexus forum how someone disassembled extended original battery and it was filled with plastic, not the actual lithium ions. That battery fitted original cover.

This is where i was at since 3:00a...with the extended battery...
Not with power savings mode.
just curious, what kind of case is that in one of the pictures? When I lost my old galaxy, I had an Incipio Dual-Pro, but idk if that will fit.
Its the rubber one that sprint sell.
Here is a picture of my battery life

I emailed 1800 Memory, one of the ebay sellers ([email protected]) about the kit in Titanium Grey yesterday and this was the response:
"Only White, Blue and Sapphire Black colors have been released.
Currently only White and Blue colors are in stock.
Thanks
-Adrian"
I went ahead and ordered the Kit with White Back Cover and I think it will look pretty darn good with the silver trim on the side and grey front.
