Hi
I have accidentaly wiped system and sd card in CWM and cant mount via usb. I cannot find a stock HTC One X RUU and I had downloaded o2 RUU (would prefer carrier branded as want to return!!! although doesn't matter) but that was corrupted and downloaded off a chiness site that has stopped hosting it!
Please help me!
Doesnt matter if all you can find is a recovery that you can mount USB!! That would be great!!
Thank you very much guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you very much for all of your help! I have solved my issue.
I needed to download the stock o2 uk RUU and relock the bootloader and run the program in fast boot. I have just made my nandroid backup and planning to upload it so anyone else can use it! (it wont have my details on, just as if the os has been installed from scratch)
Steven
Please read before posting/flashing/wiping.
What is the CID of your device. You can only flash a stock RUU with matching CID.
So you need to download the correct RUU for your device.
All stock RUUs available are here
.
Keep thread on topic please
How do I find my CID?

If you would have spent 10 seconds looking in the Dev thread you would have found a list of all the available RUU's to download.
Download your required RUU, boot into Fastboot-USB and run.
Next time be more careful and fully understand what you are doing before doing it otherwise you will end up with a £600 paperweight.

Flash the one that says o2 UK then?
Though I also wonder. How do you match CID to the firmware package? When I try to get my CID in fastboot or w/e, it says no CID like i've read around here. Any thoughts?

i unlocked the bootloader so if the op did the same their CID will be "none" and therefore the RUU wont flash.

Okay, I guess i will have to wait until the clockwork recovery gets USB mount!
Sorry but if you just want to return to stock you can do
1. Restore you nandroid backup, flash stock recovery and then relock the bootloader.
OR
2. You can flash stock recovery, relock bootloader and then run the RUU that corresponds to your CID/region.
I am probably answering my own question my CID is H3G_001. There doesnt appear to a 3 mobile ruu at all. Any help here? Fortunately its not urgent but may be handy if/when they release the upgrade

I dont know, sorry. I do know though that mine came originally with 02 uk rom and that CID will only work with the one rom that came originally with your phone. It may be different for unlocked devices.

You need the flash the stock recovery, relock the bootloader and then run the RUU. That will return you to stock firmware.

hboot 0.94 comes with 1.28, this means you won't be able to run a 1.26 RUU - you can only run 1.28 RUUs or newer. If you can't get the 1.28 RUU for your CID you won't be able to run a RUU. You can still flash custom ROMs though, so if your phone is bootlooping that's your way out.

Are you on vodafone UK? The 1.28 RUU is available for that carrier.
Even after relocking the bootloader and running a RUU, it's impossible (without S-OFF) to remove any trace that you unlocked it. The repair centre will still be able to tell.

Essentially no. Once you unlock it, even if you relock it it won't be exactly the same. The bootloader will remember that it was previously unlocked and repair centres will be able to see it. That said, restoring the RUU is better than nothing, but from what I've heard the repair centres like to bill you for a motherboard replacement if you unlock your device.
UK law does give you a large degree of protection if you wanted to take it to court though (assuming you're returning it due to a fault that was not caused by unlocking the device)
I have gotten myself a s-offed HTC One X from a local carrier with their firmware on it so I have no real hope of fast updates...
CIDgetter says in the top left I have CID of 11111111, yet going down to ro.aa.maincid says TELENZ001 - the carrier
Obviously I am s-offed and can get into the bootloader, how do I go about changing my CID and flashing a European RUU?
Have you tried just plugging in when in fastboot and running the RUU? If you really do have Super CID it'll just work
Sorry to ask this but have you contacted the guys in the s-off thread? They may be interested in hearing from you.

If you have superCID then choose whatever RUU you want from HERE. It will not change your CID if you flash a particular RUU.
May I hook on to this.
My CID is O2__001. So I want to change it into 111111.
When I boot into fastboot and give 'fastboot oem writecid 11111111' it says:
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links).
I've tried different usb-ports, different usb-cables
Or is there another way to change the CID?
Bootloader is unlocked (HTCDev)
HBoot: 0.43.0000
Softwareversion is still 1.26.206.2, no updates available
Someone can help me?
Thanks in advance

So, I'm running Android Revolution HD 6.0 and I want to get back to stock...
My phone came with an Asian Rom of some sort and I have a Nandroid Backup.
I've tried to simply flash a Ruu "Europe_1.29.401.11" but it force close before any process start.
Do I have to get back to that stock, then relock the bootloader to do so???
Can I re-Unlock the bootloader if I need sometime??
It's my first HTC, I'm ok about using odin and rsd lite but never flashed any Ruu, so in HTC matters I'm pretty noob.
Thanks.

You have to re-lock bootloader to flash official RUUs, and you can unlock it everytime you want using the unlock.bin you get from HTCdev (on your mail).
But you have to be sure you are using the right RUU
Read the threads relating to ruu carefully. Pretty important.
One thing. You can't use any ruu. Your phone did have a Asian rom initially and so you need the ruu corresponding to that area. And if phone was branded, you need the ruu specific to that brand.
So like if you your phone was from Hong Kong region, you need Hong Kong specific and carrier specifi(if your hox was branded ) ruu.
One more thing, u can only use the ruu of your current os version.
So if you're on 1.29.11, you can't use ruu for 1.29.7
See stickies for in android development section for ruu.
Although I think re locking bootloader should be enough and you should be good to use ruu, do check it.
Not sure if it would require flashing stock rom or stock recovery.
Last thing... Why use ruu? It's probably the last thing you should do unless it's a try to reclaim warranty.
I just want to get my phone to a stock rom, that was why...
but I guess I'll just stick to custom roms, since the Ruu stuf is actually pretty scarring... I tought it was simple to do, since fhasing via odin was always fast and safe...
But that's ok!
Thanks!!!
So, that was my shipped Ruu...
Can I flash an European over it??

It's very simple really.
1. Find the correct RUU
2. Flash stock recovery(not 100% sure if needed, I did it though)
3. Relock bootloader
4. Run RUU while still in fastboot.

You can only flash the one that matches your region ... to find that out, you first have to find out your CID (something like HTC_001 or O2_002) out with THIS tool from the play store...and in the bootloader you will find the HBOOT version (0.94, 0.96 ...) ... post both here and ill let you know which RUU you need

Okay, so I have a One X, International with quad-core. CID is HTC__001.
I've had a few problems over the passed year with the phone and I had to send it into HTC twice, and on the second occasion, they replaced everything except the plastic frame.
Ever since I've received the phone back it has had 4.0.4, and I haven't been able to update. I manually search for updates but it says it's up to date.
Not exactly sure where to go from here, I've been hesitant to do anything about it because last time I updated to 4.0.4, which is when I had the problem, HTC had to replace the phone.
Anything will be appreciated. Not the most tech savy when it comes to this kind of stuff
Thanks
Johnny
Look for the 3.14.401.31 ruu and run it. It will flash the phone (if successful) to stock jellybean and wipes the phone. So back up stuff you need. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hey sorry, but just want to clarify, how exactly do I go about doing this, do I just plug in my phone and run the .exe. Also do I need to be rooted?
Thanks

Your bootloaded should be locked or relocked and you just start .exe file. You don't have to be rooted.
Since you got phone from HTC, bootloader is locked so you can start .exe file right now.
Hey, so I tried to run the ruu. I went through the process and got a "signature error 132" on the Update Utility. So after some research apparently the ruu that I downloaded was the wrong one, which was "RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.31_R_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed"
In the attached image it has all the information.
From what I understand, something about 2.17.1900.1 is important, but I have no further knowledge and I'd love to hear what you guys think.
Thanks a lot,
Johnny

When you start bootloader are you S-ON or you are S-OFF. And are you Endeavoru XE or PVT
I sssumed because of the cid he was on 401 but has a variant the 1900......not sure that the 401 works indeed
Okay, so after looking around I couldn't find anything with 1900. Would anyone be able to redirect me?
And to answer Thant's question, I am S-ON and Endeavoru PVT.
From what I understand, you need to be rooted to become S-OFF, but this will allow you to run any ruu as it is no longer dependent on the "1900." Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'd love to hear the best course of action from you guys.
Thanks
Well i would check with your provider/HTC ! I assume your bootloader is still locked atm, keep it that way and return with the statement that you can't update it while the update should be there. And if there is no available update then they should give a reason why it's not available !
If they can't help you at all you can try to unlock the bootloader and flash the 3.14.401 firmware to upgrade the hboot. Don't know if it works but might be worth a try

Hey, just ran the 2.17.401.2 ruu and it worked! I'm going to run the 3.14.401 ruu soon, I'll report back with the results.
Thanks a bunch guys
EDIT: Hey so I tried to run the 3.14.401.31 and it didn't work, another signature error. So what I did was scanned for software update and I found an update for ICS, so I updated 4.0.4 further, restarted the device, scanned again for software and there it was 3.14.401.27, downloading as we speak
Thanks guys for the help
Awesome ! And thanks @Thant for this nice find

Depends. If his handset is s-on he can't "just" run the old ruu. With s-on you can't downgrade the bootloader to a lower version.
So it's either doable with s-off or look for the OS via a backup and try to restore that and run it on the new firmware.

So in the meantime i reflashed twrp and recovery and restored a backup.
But in the conclusion all i want now is to revert to full stock (i have no backup of that). Can i do that with s-off and bootloader re-locked? the reason that i want to do that is to recieve further updates ota. The reason i did all this to my phone was because the 4g was working when it wanted (not only 4g but mobile data in general). Now i'm thinking of reversing to stock, maybe future updates will solve this or to send the phone back for waranty.
So i need to flash stock, can you guide me from this point to achieve that?
My current software is 1.95.401.3, the phone was unlocked but not developer edition.Cid is HTC__34.
Help me what to do next and i will do one by one until i succeed (sry for my bad english)
@pocutzz you need SuperCID. In download mode, connect phone to pc and open a command window on your computer, type out "fastboot oem writecid 11111111" (I advice you copy and paste this but without the quotation marks), and then you will gain SuperCID. With this, you will be able to install any firmware/RUU regardless of CID.
@ OP, if you want to downgrade, since you are S-OFF there is no need to relock bootloader. As long as your have SuperCID you can downgrade to any firmware just like that. Download RUU and run it.

if you RUU you should still be able to receive OTA afterwards but don't count on me for that one as I've never restored back to stock before. You can search for previous HTC 10 RUUs on google, I recommend not going too far back and just going on the update before the 1.95 one (1.90 I think). Not every version has an RUU so if you can't find an RUU you want, try and find an older version.

It should be fine, yes. Make sure you have SuperCID and remember that you do not have to relock your bootloader when running the RUU as you are already S-OFF

i re-locked before i run sunshine for s-off. i will try to do that in a few minutes
i have done superCID, but before i try to flas the ruu, wanted to ask you, after that what remains? like s-off,root,twrp,custom recovery?
Okey so i did the superCID, in download mode it shows me the 1111111 but on the phone when i run CID Getter still says HTC__034 (that is how it suppose to show?), i copied from here like you said.Downloaded the ruu.exe from htc website, and when it runs it resets my phone to download mode, the bar goes instantly to 100% and the ruu installer says the 155 error, incorect version i think.
What do i do next?
Maybe MID problem?i've read something about it for HTC M8 i have mid 2PS620000. Maybe the ruu.exe on htc website is for US and i need EU?
Later edit: So i put the global variant with .401. in the sd card and it started to flash, i will se what is what...

S-OFF will never be wiped, if you have relocked then it will remain relocked state. Everything else is wiped and restored to stock including recovery, system, data, Internal Storage MIGHT BE WIPED I am not so sure.
if it shows SuperCID in download mode it should be fine. All you needed to do to get it was to execute that command line I posted before.
