Hmmm strange ! If you do a full wipe including repartition and format the complete sd card ?
Or did you try that already ?

that makes no difference, as he is trying to install a new rom from scratch...
if you read his posts...he is already s-off with 4ext custom recovery.
OP should ensure full wipe, perhaps a repartition of sd card as suggested

is runny rom cm7?
try hboot from alpharev cm7 or data maby it helps?!

[Q] Problem Flashing InsertCoin_GB_Sense2.1_CM7_1.0.3

Hello everybody,
My Desire is:
AlphaRev CM7
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.93.1000
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.06.00.02_2
My SD card is partitioned EXT4 (1GB)
I updated the Hboot to "PB99IMG_bravo_cm7" (PB99IMG.ZIP) found on alpharev.nl
After I wiped all data and cache, flashed the ROM...now I'm stuck at the "Why So Serious?" screen.
Did I miss a step? Can anybody help me please?
make sure your EXT4 is working.
if you used any alignment.zip it could have corrupted the ext partition
also try ext3 maybe ?
and also, what recovery are you using
CWM 2.X.X.X can cause problems, try at least 3.0.0.5
I'm using v3.0.0.5 recovery.
How can I make sure that EXT4 is working?
After the partitioning and when I try to copy back the data I had in the sdcard directly from the computer, it asks me to format the SDcard is it normal?
You should try the new version of CWM recovery 3.0.2.8

[Q] How to flash RunnyDroid

Hey I would really like to flash this ROM but I am a noob at rooting/flashing as I just rooted my phone. So I was wondering if somebody would help me by giving me a step by step on what exactly I am supposed to do to have this ROM on my desire.
Thanks

Follow this guide from the bit about s-off
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
Partition card to XXXXFAT32 and1024mb ext4
Place runnydroid zip on card in recovery by mounting as USB
In recovery, do a nandroid back up wipe phone and all data
Flash the ROM by installing zip
Oh and don't change the hboot

Thank you very much. I'll try it out and tell you what happens.
I think I will stick to CM 7.1.0 for some time before trying RunnyDroid.

A whole 7 minutes to go from trying it to won't bother?
Very simple, just follow the steps in post and ready, now more than has the graphical installer. : P
I don't know, I'll backup my CM ROM then try it.
1 question though, how long will it take to do this?

Assuming ur s-off then download the rom u want, make sure u have the correct hboot for it and sdcard is partitioned to suit the rom then boot into recovery do a full wipe then install zip from sdcard. I had to do it this way many times coz my laptop only connects to my phone when it can be bothered lol

Is it there? Lol u tell me. U can partition ur sdcard with 4ext recovery (if ur s-off) or use gparted. Most roms will require u to have exr3/4 partition bout 1-1.5gb.

I could only find one with the old edify script, so can't flash it
Where I can find the latest radio with new recovery script?
Or should I flash the img it via fast boot? Which is better?
I am on data++ hboot, do I need to revert to stock?
Edit: found on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464
that I need to flash with fast boot because I have 5MB cache, so the zip with edify script is enough, I just extract the img.

U can flash it in recovery as a zip file but only using an older version of clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.7
But yh fastboot commands is the best way if u know what ur doing.

I was talking about flashing from recovery. Radio image gets unpacked in /cache and is 30 megabytes in size approximately. I'd like to see you unpacking it in /cache of 5.

Flash a recovery and partition your SD card. 4ext is the best one out there.

Will making a partition wipe the SD card using 4ext?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Yes, partitioning does destroy all your data.
Ok so I need to back up SD card to my netbook and then create 1 partition using 4ext and then just put all my data back on sdcard?? Am I right?? And the size of the partition 1gb??? Cheers

Not necessarily. You can use something like gparted on Linux (or Partition Magic on Windows) to resize your FAT32 partition non-destructively.
