I know that u can't do this on AOKP ics recovery or else your phone will get bricked. I was just wondering if i can do it on FD19 since it's a stock rom ?

Any ICS Recovery
I won't get a brick ?

If you're fd02 with ET cwm5 rogue there is still a chance you can brick. I've done it on that kernel before without any problems but they say there is a chance. So instead i would install Calkins format all and that should take care of you.

I'm on CM9 and I ODIN the EL26 Stock Kernal so I could perform a nandroid.
After completing the nandroid, do I need to reinstall CM9???
How do I get back to CM9 kernal as currently I don't get past the boot screen.
Thanks,
RR
Odin a kernel for ics.... fb27 fc05 etc it will tell you in Dev which will work with cm
You can use triangle away to reset flash count after you can boot it ....

Seeing how I'd just got my replcaement because I'd hard bricked my previous one messing with ICS vs. Gb kernals... I got scared.
I just reinstalled CM9 without wiping anything and now I'm back on CM9...
Can you point specifically to which kernal you're referring to?

[KERNEL/RECOVERY][ICS] Rogue *Stock FC07* (New 3/10/12)
I would not recommend flashing or wiping or anything with these

hi I just flash stock ROM dexoed rooted el29 and it came with acs recovery how can I go back to rogue recovery?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Just search for the rogue recovery that you want and flash it. I would advise wiping cache/dalvik first.

OK this is kinda newbie like me but if u have a kernel in zip format u can extract the image out and flash it with mobile Odin and your all set. It helped me get calks latest kernel on blue kuban rom . Now if we could just get a update on the os itself that would be great
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
lol blu kuban has a rom updater and theres multiple threads with the fe22 kernel in it.. but yes, you can extract the zimage...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
The from updater don't list any fe22 kernels yet. And I like rogue recovery on the latest

Try using ZArchiver. Get from the market. Use it to unzip to moble odin and flash away. That's what I've been using and have had know problems with it at all.
Good luck and happy flashing.

ya now we can update our modems and kernels. roms on the other hand u gotta wait for developer. go kuban update your rom. u can do it ucan do it all night!

Also if you go to the ACS site they have a new kernal package for the new ICS roms. I've using them and have had no issues.

I like acs I do but there recovery is odd. As in the buttons. Execute is menu button or power button and gets me all mixed up when coming from rogue recovery. Acts was the first custom kernel I saw but I held out for calks kernel as its packed with rogue recovery. Don't wanna risk flashing a bad recovery kernel otherwise you'd have to Odin to get it up and running again

Use agats modified acs recovery in the dev section if u need it. Power button is to select and there is a menu go back button or u can use the hardware back button. There's nothing wrong with it as long as you don't wipe data from it or try to flash a rom from there.

I am on stock ff18 and I was just wondering if I could just replace the kernel to another without having any issues also if I flashed a new kernel would I still want to make a back up of everything?
Sent from my SPH-D710
Yes. Use mobile Odin or Odin and flash agat63's kernel. Its safe to flash from ICS to ICS
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I have agats recovery is it still safe to flash from GB to ics?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
You mean ICS to ics. GB to ICS use stock el29 direct boot kernel. Easiest way.

Based on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525495
It seems that the main issue was some emmc issue causing bricks when flashing with ICS because we didn't have an official release or the source.
I've seen a few rom developers state that they think this problem has been solved in some later kernels. Now that we have an official ICS release, Is this a safe process now? Are there certain roms or kernels I should be using to get ICS recovery to work safely?
Basically I want to no longer have to flash el29 just to try things like Google Now ports and stuff. I want a fully mobile option to flash multiple roms at my leisure like other phones
Agats kernel/recovery is safe. Sleshepic's kernel/recovery is also safe. I flash ICS to ICS alot thru their recoveries no problem.

I am glad someone else asked this because I was just about to do the same. I am on Agat and was about to go from stock rom to AOKP Milestone 6 but wasn't sure if I could flash back to TW based roms without having to go to EL29.
How do I flash their recoveries? I already rooted and have superuser. I just don't have a recovery and I'm confused on the articles I've read. Thanks in advance.

Every kernel is safe as long as you don't factory reset. use calks flash all zip instead of the wipe in recovery. Rujelus22 has a 2x wipe zip that does it twice. They wipe cache, dalvik, and system data in one shot.
What kernel should i be downloading? I have stock ICS rooted.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Flash Agats kernel. The .tar file in odin or mobile odin.
