if It's rooted you can use this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022518
Not rooted. She wont let me root it haha. I just don't know how to update it without going into recovery. My phone is rooted so I know about all of that.

The format of the update will not allow you to update without htc sync on a pc. Sorry :/

To get the rom.zip (esprimg) run the ruu and open command prompt, click services, and right click on ARUWizard.exe and open file location, and move the file (rom.zip) to your desktop and rename it "esprimg.zip" and put it on the root of your sd, and flash in bootloader

Out of luck then. No computer. Ha. Oh well. Weird how I can root a phone and put so many completely different kinds of phones on it without a computer. But I can't do a little update for a phone without one.

No you can't get rid of it, just have to wait until the next billing cycle.

We used to have a fix for this but T-Mobile closed it quick.
T-Mobile also pays attention to XDA threads, by the way.
I thought I saw a thread on resetting your apn (ie do a search for network)or something along those lines

Yeah, that will actually work for a while. So will changing your apn to voicestream. You'll have to reset every time you reboot or use wifi but it does in fact work

I love when people are asking for help but they are giving such small amount of information. What are we? Sorcerrers? Do you think we can use our magical powers to detect your problem?

Bingo - and you have not made a nandroid backup before - correct?
Ya never

Do I need to do a back up and will it mess with my root at all ??
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
Well, you can make factory reset or full wipe, can't you?
Your contacts, apps settings etc. might have been synced, but only if you enabled that.
If you want to do more recovery: there is possibility do do backup (before wipe!) from Custom Recovery and on your computer extract some files from it (by mounting it's SD card).
Thank u

My desire keeps rebooting randomly, I think it's overheating but it really doesn't get very warm... What can be the cause of this?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Is your Desire by any chance a PVT1? You might have some motherboard problems.
It is. Anything I can do about it?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
PVT1 models are known to have motherboard problems. The motherboard overheats, and it shuts down as a safety precaution. You need to change your motherboard, either by warranty, by going to a service, or by buying one online and changing it yourself.
I see. Thanks. It's time to buy a new phone anyways
