Xperia play HDMI out cable? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I don't know if I'm posting this in the rite thread but I've seen a few HDMI to micro USB cables on eBay & amazon. I'm considering buying one but can anyone tell me if it actually works as I've read on a few places it doesn't have the speed through micro USB to support it.
Thanks.

I think it will not run, i saw some videos on youtube like "Minecraft Phone: Sony Ericsson Xperia Play" if you pay attention will see that the hdmi cable is conected on Xperia a little to left of the original USB port, i think that is an another version of the phone try to see on the gamepad, says Verizon, it can be a prototype.

It doesn´t work.

There is no way to use this phone with HDMI. The ones that people have seen are Dev units only.

Lets please not go back to that subject.

Theres been extensive research into this the only possible solution is the xbound which is a ways off

Evo 3d power cord

Does anyone know if the power hdmi connector is a mini or micro usb connector? I thought it was a mini usb like the original evo, but if it is also used for hdmi, I am not sure.

I remember reading that the evo3d is using a "mhl" port that will charge and be HDMI out at the same time, not the micro USB that the evo has.

Will micro usb to hdmi work

I'm considering picking up one but not sure if it's worth it

I don't have the link off hand, but there's a thread in the accessories section that discuses this. IIRC, there isn't any confirmed way to use tv-out yet.

HTC apparently said our phones support mhl so its definitely worth a shot, I'm looking forward to your feedback

We have been trying to figure tv out for a month in the tv out thread. Let us know if it works. I wrote to HTC and they told me that the phone has mhl but they don't make the proper cable yet. I guess micro usb hdmi is worth a shot, let us know if it works.

Go on eBay and search USB jig.
Ebay to buy one. Zedomax made a video on how to make one a long time ago. Google his name and USB jig and I'm sure it will pop up.

So you didn't want a video, but you just thanked a person for giving you a link to a page with a video, like it was exactly what you were looking for.
I think you are just covering now. Lol

the link he put had a link to a guide so he show how to get here and this is what i wanted
http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-hacks/how-to-make-a-usb-jig-for-your-galaxy-s2/
It is easy enough. I tool two 150K ohm resistors and wired together and then soldered to pin 4 and 5 if I remember correctly. I used zedomax's video though it was hard to see what pins for sure. I got a cheap micro usb universal plug that I could easily take apart the case and unsolder the wires. I was able to reuse the cover with the resistors inside. Pretty simple.
No matter how you slice it the info is all over the web for you and anyone esle who wants it. Like the introduction to xda says you are probably not the first person to ask whatever question it is. I am sorry but I have an issue with people taking 10 minutes to set up a post instead of 2 minutes to search on google... Damn even 5 minutes... My bad man I get crazy sometimes but honestly there is more that one way to look crap up
Code:
Usb jig
what is a usb jig
video of usb jig
how to make a usb jig
usb jig for samsung
usb jig for epic touch
usb jig for e4gt
Try these out and I guarantee you one of them will lead you to the promise land... LOL
What is funny is if you would use the load more or next page option in q&a section of our forums its right in there.

MHL Adapter HDMI Out

Hello all. I am setting up a new home entertainment system, and was wondering if a MHL adapter like this would work with our Xperia Play.
You tell us man :]
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda app-developers app
Most likely not. The Xperia Play does not support HDMI, if my memory serves me right.
Thats why we do hackery my friend!
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda app-developers app
This line they add here in there "add"
"Designed For Use Smartphone, Tablet or Others with Mobile Devices Featuring MHL Technology enabled device"
Makes me question if thats particular to anything, But a device that already supported Hdmi wouldn't need this because it has an hdmi port. Since the xperia play does not support hdmi on its own this might be worth buying for the low cost and seeing if it does!
I feel like we've had this topic before... many times... and every possible solution except "hope" in this xBounds thing has been a massive failure.
Just got mine today.
I can confirm it does not work.
Was worth a try
I'm thinking about starting a thinktank on modding hdmi onto play. Who knows how many Plays I'll break lol

HDMI for galaxy question

Is there an HDMI cable I can hook up to the galaxy to view on the TV. Has anyone tried and does it work. If so what kind should I buy
I found old thread that said it wasn't working idk if there was a fix down the road. But if anyone knows let me know lol
Thanks.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
Pick one you like. Make sure its 11 pin though. Then use any HDMI cable you got. (I personally like the MHL adapter that has the Male HDMI on the end then no extra HDMI is needed. Makes it easier for travel.

Samsung made all variants practically identical(thank God.) With the exception of carrier specific needs. They all should work. Granted the cheaper ones may not be of great quality. (Meaning they break easily but the video should be good.)
Also, you're gonna spend way more at best buy. That's why I gave the eBay links (love eBay xD )
But as for settings, all you need to do is plug it in phone will recognize it and mirror the display.
I also recommend this amazing app to keep your screen off while still using your phone. Greatly improves screen life and CPU life by keeping things cool.
