Multi mount? Not sure.

Multi Mount SD-Card v2.14 & above is working fine here on Slim 4.0.

Can't mount SD card through USB

I've tried to mount the SD card through USB on my Kaiser and it's not detected in windows 7 X64. Well, it sees a removable drive but nothing is in it.
I have Super Eclair 2.1 and data is on the SD card using data.img. Pretty much everything else about my phone is in my sig.

That's what I'm thinking but I have no idea. What do people do to get their apps onto their SD card, without losing the ability to mount it through USB? BTW, Android is installed in NAND, but data is on the SD as data.img, if anyone was wondering.
try the SD split widget..there is a thread here on how to mount SD card using that. I use it and the SD card comes up just fine without any drivers on my windows 7 X64.
2nd option

Is it called APP2SD? I'm not very good at finding threads, could you post a link?

To mount the card, reboot the phone, select recovery mode, plug in the phone and press enter and exit. It will boot normally and when it finish booting, the card will be mounted
Yes that is it!! It works perfectly. It mounts SD card not only in windows 7 but also in windows XP. I havnt tried it with Ubuntu but I m pretty sure it will work with Ubuntu as well.
I use myns 1.6 so not sure if it works on 2.1 or not! Please try and let us know.

Thanks that worked for me. Now when Android is running it mounts the SD card just fine.
In the vogue forums I found out that it's likely to be a kernel problem.
Everything is a kernel problem.

[APP] Ntfs Mounter - Automatically mount NTFS/EXT formated USB Sticks and SD Cards

Automatically mount and dismount NTFS/FAT/EXT2/EXT3/EXT4 formated USB Sticks, USB HDD, SD Cards
!!! REQUIRES ROOT !!!
!!! Tested on Samsung Galaxy SII ICS 4.0.3 (CF, Siyah, N.E.A.K kernels) !!!
Works on following ICS devices:
- Samsung Galaxy S2
- Samsung Galaxy Note
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 2
Once Ntfs Mounter is installed and you connect a NTFS formated USB stick with the USB host / OTG cable, the application will mount your drive.
Device partitions will be mounted to: /sdcard/usbStorage/UsbDriveA...UsbDriveF
SD Card will be mounted to: /mnt/sdcard/external_sd
You don't need to run the Ntfs Mounter each time, drive should be mounted automatically.
What's new in 0.5 ver
- file systems support: NTFS, EXT2, EXT3, EXT4
- SD card support. The card is visible in all applications including standard android apps (camera, file manager,...).
- user applications can be installed into the NTFS, EXT2, EXT3 or EXT4 formatted card
- multi partitions support on USB drives
- full system integration - no more messages that card or USB drive is not formatted or blank
- standard android notifications are used instead of old Ntfs Mounter notifications
- USB drives are mounted into: /mnt/sdcard/usbStorage/UsbDriveA,.../mnt/sdcard/usbStorage/UsbDriveF
- some bugs are fixed
Technical notes:
1. ICS 4.0.3 with 3.0.15 kernel (CF kernel at least) already contains fuse driver
2. The app installs ntfs-3g if it does not exist in the system
3. App receives MEDIA_NOFS event and tries to mount all unmounted /dev/sdXXX devices as NTFS volumes
Feel free to post your comments, suggestions, bugs, etc...
Don't punish me a lot, it is my first android app
If you like the app, you can donate me a beer or two :fingers-crossed:

It should mount multi-partitioned devices. But I didn't test this. I need USB-hub with external power to mount my HDD. I'm going to buy one soon.
So, if it doesn't mount multi-partitioned devices it will do this soon

Sometimes it happens. I will add additional error handling for this, so that we can find the issue.

in siyahkernel (and some others), hotplug notifications are parsed and if a block device is plugged in the kernel tries to mount it to /mnt/ntfs folder using kernel's in-built ntfs module and mounts in readonly. although I have not tested it, it may cause an issue mounting the same block device using ntfs-3g. if it is a problem 1) I can stop that hotplug mounting if there is an ntfs-3g binary or if your application is installed or 2) you can sleep several seconds and umount /dev/block/sdaX before mounting it using ntfs-3g.
I do not want to remove the readonly mounting because there are lots of people using it to watch movies and they may not want to install additional app to do that. so here are the questions:
- where do you copy the ntfs-3g binary?
- is there any way of detecting your app except for searching it directly in /system/app folder?
- or maybe there is no collision. did you test it with siyahkernel? (I would but I've lost my otg cable, I need to order another)

1. /system/bin/ntfs-3g
2. I think, only look at /system/app
3. No, I didn't test it with siyahkernel.
There is no error handling for mounting and installing ntfs-3g at all, it is in my to do list
finally! thank you for writing this much needed app

tried with NEAK 2.0.4 but only mounted status success but empty ntfs folder
Great app, unfortunatly does not work as I am on Siyah Kernel. I'm hoping you will figure it out and fix it (anyone of you) becouse i like this kernel but i like ntfs very much too
Also this is the app I've been waiting for, even wrote similiar "idea" of it some time ago but i didnt have any responds :/
Does not work on N.E.A.K. 2.0.3 too :| hmm..
Siyah, N.E.A.K and some other kernels support has been added. Please let me know if it is not working on these kernels.
The app should be updated from the market

Remove the card and plug it into the converter and plug that into your computer or card
reader then re-format using FAT32 ONLY then put it back in your phone and then your 64gb
sdcard shall work!

Use the Windows drive manager to delete the partition on the MicroSD, do not reformat it with windows, plug it into the phone, and attempt to mount, it should do so but with 0 space now. Format it with the phone. Or look for the tool "fat32format" on the internet (Google is your friend) in order to force a format in FAT32.

If that don't work you will need to find a friend or relative who has
a windows computer which you can use to format the card using FAT32.

You can have all your mp3's, videos, movies, pictures and documents plus backups of the rom and new roms or other
stuff but you just cannot use it to install apps until one of the devs finds a way to create a compatible app which will allow
for app installation on external sd.
Something similar to the apps2sd app which is not compatible with the S4.
Perhaps the developer of that app will upgrade it making it compatible with our phones.

Google it and look it up,
Ever since windows xp fat32 was always the default when formatting usb flash drives(memory sticks) and sdcards.
Right now I am running windows 8 but I ran all the other prior versions of windows including windows xp.
When formatting hard drives, even external usb hard drives then windows (all versions) default to NTFS.
I never seen any versions of windows operating systems defaulting to exFAT.

Your right actually I got confused its actually partition space anything over 32Gb is out of a normal fat range for windows.
1) Make a LiveUSB stick of Ubuntu.
2) Boot into the USB stick.
3) Use GParted to format to Fat32.

Well not in that sense but let's say if you would like to play a video or a song you have saved in your 64GB card. Does it still play it right away or have you experienced any slow downs? Someone who i know that works closely with phones informed me that it slows down the phone when loading files such as mp3 files or video files. Thanks dude.

[Q] RW with external drive/flash drive

Has anyone found a fix for the RW issue with external media storage? My OUYA automounts all USB storage devices I have, but I can't write to anything; the closest I've seen to a fix is making the OUYA mount as an SD for App2SD capabilities (I just want to write...).

Do you mean general things like emulator saves and such (or transferring from the OUYA to external for data) or transferring apps to the external?
In the case of the first, you have to have it in FAT32 format. I think someone got OTG Helper to work to change that, but not sure.
If you're talking about transferring apps, there's a way on the unofficial forms, but I'm not sure about it.

This thread http://forums.ouya.tv/discussion/1745/fix-for-usb-flash-or-hard-drive-not-supported completely resolved my external drive problems (even 1tb powered external drive with AVCHD files for XBMC) until yesterday's firmware update.
Now no joy....even after re-rooting and re-editing the file.
UPDATE: Apparently the "fix" described in the link above is no longer necessary. I reverted to the vold.fstab file that came with the most recent firmware upgrade and my USB devices are once again available, even on XBMC.

Stickmount not working in v4.3

Anyone else try stickmount to mount their USB device?
I know its not my cable nor the flash drive. They both work in my Original Nexus 7 and I can mount the drive in the TRWP recovery in the Nexus 7 2013.
I also know I am rooted because I have Root Manager installed and it was Granted root permission. Same with ES FIle Explorer 3.

Stick mount works for me on 4.3. I just mounted a flash drive.
It created a usbStorage partition in the root of the internal storage(SD card).
I then used root explorer to navigate to the usb storage folder and voila, my flash drive and all its contents are accessible from my Nexus 7(2013)

Thats good to know then I am wondering why mine is not working? I wonder if maybe I am not rooted correctly. Is there an app that can check that I am rooted correctly?
I actually have tried other mounters as well and none of them are working to so must be something with the root?
EDITED:
I tried a fresh flash drive and it now shows up but my concern is why does that flash work on the original N7 and not on the N7 2013?
Could it be TWRP backups on the drive some device specific protection?

It works on Mac and PC. Just totally lost on this. Maybe the firmware version on this Flash Drive is not compatible with the N7 2013 hardware/kernel.
With nexus media importer there are problems too, I guess they must update the apps to work on 4.3, something has changed.

How are you formatted? It can't be FAT32 or you couldn't get a 6Gb file on it. I don't think NTFS works without some add-on support.
