[Q] why fastboot screen no bootloader ? - HTC Wildfire S

This phone can not recovery, root, but has s-off,
there is a picture from attachment,can have a look,thanks a lot.

hboot 1.08.0000 is not capable of the fastboot commands flash, boot etc.
to install recovery put the recovery.img in a zip file named PG76IMG.zip and put it on the sd card. then go into bootloader and let hboot flash the recovery

thanks
yes,we tried, when put the PG76IMG.zip to sdcard, the phone boot in fastboot, but no information show me to update, if normal,we can see do you want to update now,but this phone no update show me.

which way did you do the s-off?

I don't know
This phone was off by the manufacturer, and also change the cid to 11111111.

when going into bootloader, does he search for a pg76img.zip ?

yes
yes, checking sdcard,Parsing...[PG76IMG.zip]”and then to HBOOT ,no update show me.
if normal,
hboot
parsing。。。sd zip
1 recovery-ok
but this phone no 1 recovery-ok

then try upgrading your hboot version to 1.08.0009 from htc dev and then you can flash a recovery.img from your computer..
(requirement is fastboot file from platform tools folder of your android-sdk-floder )
the comand line will be
cd desktop
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
only if you place the recovery.img on desktop (idk where to get the cwm img from) with the fastboot file..
it wont be much helpful as i didnt told in detail. jusst about to sleep so sorry.. try upgrading your boot loader and lemme know the result..

thank you,my question is how to update to hboot 1.080099?I put PG76IMG to sdcard, but no update information.

Stuck on HTC screen - can't access

Hi
I've looked on here already to try to find a (working) solution for my problem but haven't so far. My HTC desire was
downgraded from ICS to a gingerbread rom successfully - however - upon trying to unlock (unbrand) my phone the
software was stopping this so i tried to install a stock rom on it via usb cable. It downloaded successfully and rebooted.
But when it restarted it stuck on the "htc" loading screen. The only way i can turn it off is to remove the battery - also
when i try to enter recovery it just sticks on the HTC screen too.
This is what it says on the HBOOT screen:
--------------------------------------------------------

HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d

Okay thanks a lot, just done it now.
I typed in fastboot erase memory and this pops up:
erasing memory....FAILED (remote: partition is not existed!)
Any idea what this means?
I did the second part anyway and it went into recovery fine, i tried to install a zip from sd but it aborted it because it was "bad"

If you want it neat and clean to start from beginning, download alpharev downgrade hboot, flash it via fastboot (follow the instructions from site), download 2.3 RUU from htcdev, unpack it and run from your PC.
The previous attempt to return to stock GB ended with failure because you have revolutionary hboot which is write protected and hboot and radio can't be flashed. So, you had the old radio on your device (RADIO-4.05.00.11) and GB needed a newer one and after flashing it didn't want to boot.
With downgrade you will unlock write protection and RUU will overwrite both hboot and radio.

It's not a patch, it's hboot that you're looking for. It's the last one on table, nicely called "Bravo Downgrader".

Hi again, thank you for your reply. I'm new to this and when i ran through the instructions on alpharev, it didnt work so im obviously doing something wrong, and don't want to mess it up so could you please say whether this is the correct way to do it
From the instructions on alpharev its goes as:
1) nandroid backup in recovery - I have 4ext recovery, so i just basically click "backup" right?
2) download bravo_downgrade.img
3) go into hboot (power+back button)
Now this is the bit im confused about:
fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img' (change into the correct filename for the HBOOT you downloaded)
4) 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'
5) 'fastboot erase cache'
6) Boot recovery, wipe everything and restore.
I don't see these options available to me, is this because I have 4ext and just need the normal clockworkmod?
Thankyou.

Try this :

Restore it and flash the matching 2.17 stock recovery. Check manually for updates afterwards and update the phone again to the JB software

[Q] Revolutionary Rooted stuck in boot loop no recovery

Help. My phone is stuck in a boot loop. No recovery, won't take one even when I flash multiple ways. Won't take a rom. S-off. Was rooted with Revolutionary, but since it wouldn't take a ROM or recovery I tried to unroot. Was able to remove the "Revolutionary" watermark, change hboot from 6.16 to 2.16.0001. Tried installing ruu which is what removed the Revolutionary and changed back hboot.
Here's what I have now:
Supersonic evt2-3 ship s-off
hboot 2.16.0001
Radio 2.15.00.0808
Any help! Thanks.
Looks you might have to get a PC36IMG.zip on your sdcard and then flash that through bootloader
Ideally, put on a froyo PC36IMG so that rerooting is easier if you want to do it again
So what happens when you try to select Recovery from Hboot?
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much
Still boot looping...

All I get is the white "HTC EVO 4G" boot screen. When I flash a custom recovery, everything goes as expected, but still can't access recovery.
You will have to go through all the bootloader ruu's till you find the one that works. Good luck I had the same issue and ended up selling it on eBay and the buyer finally got it working.

Ok. I tried every ruu I could find. Problem remains. Also, s-off never turns to s-on. Tried flashing contents of stock rom separately. Everything appears to flash ok, but same result: no recovery, no rom. Any ideas?
What I think I need is a method to nand unlock via fastboot or hboot. Anyone know of such a thing? Anyone have any other ideas? Besides what I've already done? Thanks...

S-off is nand-unlocked...run an ruu (any version), as soon as it opens, press windowsKey+R and type "%temp%" then *enter
Now sort the files by date modified and search in the most recent folders for a file called "rom.zip", as soon as you find that copy it to your desktop
Rename the rom.zip to "PC36IMG.zip" and place it on the root of your phones sdcard (you may need to reformat your sdcard to FAT32, make a backup if you need to do this)
Now put the sdcard in your phone, pull out the battery and go into bootloader (VolDown+Power) , the bootloader should find it and commence the update process back to stock unrooted, follow the prompts and press power when necessary
Okay, tried that...

Tried your method using the rom from an ruu. Still s-off, although everything appeared to have updated. I've done this previously, but not extracting the rom.zip from an ruu. Each time the hboot updates, or downgrades, depending on the ruu, but s-off remains. No rom, no recovery...
Next...
Sometimes the problem is solved by wiping the recovery partition first, and then re-flashing it. To do that, you would need a Hboot where you could run fastboot commands, since you cannot boot into a Rom.
You can try upgrading your Hboot, then unlocking the bootloader using the Htcdev site, so that you can run the fastboot commands. If it fails on the new Hboot, then it can probably be flashed back to whatever Hboot you have, since you're S-OFF.
I've included the Hboot file that you would need for the upgrade. You would first run the PC36IMG file throught the bootloader, then reboot the phone. If the Hboot changes, then you should go to the Htcdev site and try to unlock the bootloader.
There are some other steps that follows, but there's no point of giving them to you now and complicating things unless the initial steps work first.

Ok. This didn't work. I was able to flash the hboot, but fastboot commands did not work. I can unlock, and relock the bootloader, flash any ruu, but s-off remains, and still unable to flash a rom or recovery.
Try this and see what happens: Unzip the fastboot.zip file in side a folder on your computer and place the recovery.img file in that same folder on your computer, then open a command prompt from that folder (shift + right click+"open command window here"). From the FASTBOOT USB menu on the phone (Hboot + click on FASTBOOT): type
fastboot erase recovery <ENTER>
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img <ENTER>
fastboot reboot-bootloader <ENTER>

This should rather be posted in Q&A section.
Anyways do you have a file named pg86img.zip in the root of your sd card?
these HBOOTs cannot be overwritten by an OTA or RUU, unless you flash a downgrader HBOOT first. Use bravo downgrader from alpha rev site, than you can apply pg86img.zip
moved to Q&A.
Please do not post in the dev forum unless you are releasing development work.

You can get it by running the RUU, and while the RUU is loaded (dont start the RUU upgrade. Just click on the exe, and when the welcome screen of RUU shows up,) search in your Temp folder for the file rom.zip. Hint: To quickly navigate to Temp, Type the following into the Run window: %TEMP% It may be called ROM.zip. If so put it on the phone and rename it PB99IMG.zip
Or just google htc desire 2.3 gb ruu as PB99IMG

firstly remove your phone serial number and imei from the attachment picture...avoid someone can cloning your phone...
you can try download this RUU from here..
after that without connecting your phone to pc..firstly you must find the rom.zip file from that RUU.exe..to do that..
just running that RUU.exe until two steps next..then hold there..do not continued and do not closed that..just let it open..then open your explorer..
C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Temp\[here you will find a lot folder like this "{5CAD3393-EEC0-44CE-9F93-BCAA365B77FB}"] ..search the latest folder by date..and inside that folder you will find subfolder like that again..open it..here you will see the rom.zip file..just copied the rom.zip file to another location...then after that you can cancel and close it RUU.exe
rename it the rom.zip file to "PD98IMG.zip" then copied to the root directory of your sd card (do not place it in any folder)..you can using card reader to copied that file..
after that...just put it in back your sd card to your phone..then boot up your phone to bootloader..then let the bootloader check it the PD98IMG.zip file..and wait until they ask to updating it..just confirm it with volume up..then wait until finish and ask you to confirm reboot with pressing power button..after that if your phone is already success a booting normal again..you must remove it the PD98IMG.zip file from your sd card..
just let me know if this work or not...
hope this help..

can you show me detailed of your bootloder correctly..i mean example like this..
***UNLOCKED***
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT - X.XX.XXXX
blah blah
blah blah..
because you say before in your first post is that you already had hboot 2.00.0029 version.. but in your attachment picture above is your hboot still 2.00.0027..which are exactly your hboot version is...?
did you already tried unlocking your bootloder via htcdev.com..?, and what exactly your reason to installing that RUU in your first post above..?

that's so weird things...
what if you try too installing that RUU.exe like normal way...i mean just connecting your phone with pc (select FASTBOOT mode from your bootloder) then running that RUU.exe until finish..
if that still fail too...then another way is you can try it to unlocking your bootloader via htcdev.com first..then after that you can continued installing custom recovery like 4ext, twrp or cwm..and then installing custom rom..
to unlock your bootloader via htcdev.com...firstly you must update your hboot version to 2.00.0029...that hboot update file is already in there site..just follow instruction from site it self..

This so weird...because that you told me with these both RUU that you had already installed is all process had success completed until finish....but what i know is...that's impossible the phone while still in stock condition can received two different stock RUU with different cid num too...accept if your already had a goldcard and flashing it just through bootloader..
Anyway...just unlocking that bootloader first then after success unlocking...i will continued told you what step by step you must to do next...
Now i'm gone a sleep..
