Well, i discover it because i brick my phone haha now i share it to you.
IF YOU HAVE ANY UNSIGNED RECOVERY:
1.- GO TO RECOVERY
2.- FORMAT SYSTEM
3.- RESTART NORMALLY
4.- YOUR PHONE WILL STOPS IN "HTC QUIETLY BRILLIANT" SCREEN (or any other custom roms screens, like villain for example).
5.- PUT YOUR PHONE TO CHARGE (no light notification appears)
6.- LET IT CHARGE FOR A COUPLE HOURS (i put mine to charge for a complete night)
7.- Now restore your RUU, Flash, etc...
IF YOU HAVE SIGNED RECOVERY:
1.- GO TO FASTBOOT
2.- HIT "SHUT DOWN"
3.- WITH THE POWER OFF PUT IT TO CHARGE
4.- RED LIGHT NOTIFICATION SHOWS THE CHARGING PROGRESS.
5.- NEXT DAY YOU WILL SEE A SOLID GREEN LIGHT NOTIFICATIONS FOR A COMPLETE CHARGE.
PD: Sorry for ortography, im from Chile, my native speaking is spanish but i want to share my knowledge with XDA COMMUNITY !
PD2: The charging process is slower than the normal charging process, remember that you have the splash screen with full bright.
this one is the completely yes for me, been through this process and successfully get my one-x back by the way mentioned.

well at very first moment I have paul's 5818 recovery and I have not tried ,
so I asked PG101 and he told me the second way so I tried with 2nd one there.
cuz first one still not let you feel secure I think.Mostly the 2nd one is the one everyone need to go if you encounter that low battery state

If you have CUSTOM RECOVERY like 5.8.2.7 or any other, you cant charge in any bootloader screen, or fastboot, the only way to charge when you DON'T HAVE the signed recovery, is in the HTC QUIETLY BRILLIANT SCREEN or IN ANY SPLASH SCREEN (IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED VILLAIN ROM OR ANY OTHER).

I read a way in tutorial, the thing is that when you get the splash screen ...like a bootloop, the phones charges, and then you go back to bootloader, do that severals time, with new recovery, if u manage to get there, phone start charging.
If u dont have new recovery and u can put phone to "fastboot" mode, try to flash it using " fastboot recovery recoveryNAME.img" then...stay in recovery all Night so phone will get full charge...
Then do whatever you want.

I left my phone plugged into USB all night in bootloader (I read that was the best way to get initial charge) but this morning it had just powered down, I'm guessing due to no charge?
Got it back on today and plugged it into the mains adapter whilst it was in bootloader, the red (constant) light stayed on and nothing seems to be changing. I'm going out now so I did fastboot>power down and left it in the wall. There is no light displayed at all, I'm just going to leave it and hope the charge comes back over the next few hours? Or do I need to do something else? My recovery is corrupt, I cant boot into it.

Cheers mate, gonna try this in a min. I got home and I think it had run flat again, I hooked it up to USB and now its sitting in Fastboot usb and the orange light is flashing! (charging?) Should I just leave it for a while now or give this power cycle a go? Also is there a way to check my battery level using an adb command or something? Cheers

If you are going to use this method, perhaps try using a wall charger as it will push more juice. For the batch file method, I know it has worked for a few users.
The only command I know to check battery capacity is adb shell cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/capacity, but I guess it won't help if you are in fastboot.

How much is needed to be able to unlock bootloader and flash recovery? I see this corresponds to about 10% according to the thread and they state that you can unlock between 10% and 30%, so perhaps give that a try.
I also saw a thread somewhere where it was suggested to run command fastboot oem rebootRUU and then plug the device into the wall charger like that, but have not had anyone confirm to me if this works.

Ok, so I was fed up of waiting for T-Mobile to deliver the 1.28 update. Decided to unlock the bootloader and flash a new rom that is based off of 1.28.
SO:
1) I unlocked bootloader
2)flashed CM 5.8.31
3)nandroid backup
4)this is where it went wrong. tried to use insertCoin it said you need to manually flash boot. img so i fastboot flash boot boot.img
5)then i booted into recovery and tried to install the rom, it failed ( i dont think it finished copying oops) do i try to restore from nandroid.
6) just gets stuck on htc quietly brilliant.
Help Please ( ANy Advice would be brilliant..)
im worried my phone is gonna run out of battery aswell
First, you can charge your device in the HTC brilliant screen.
Second, unlock your phone and put 1.26 recovry and then run the original RUU..

Thanks i just noticed it was charging at the brilliant screen.
Also how?
i have just downloaded to original TMO_UK RUU and was just going to flash the boot.img
EDIT: Downloading (is taking forever)
Hi -
Im in the exact same situation as you right now.
I am attempting to follow this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599748
It has the directions.
After you download the RUU you need to click on it and wait a minute till its running.
After this (and this is where I am stuck) you need to go to start menu and search
%temp% and some folders should show up. Somewhere in this folder is supposed to be a file called Rom.zip
I cant seem to find a rom.zip though. If you do please let me know where???
Thanks and I hope this helps. Scary 650 dollar phone and I cant get it to boot back up. I only blame myself... But apparently this can be fixed.

OP -
I dont want it to seem like Im hijacking your thread but I figured I would post in here since we both have the same problems. Hoping we can work through this together.
2 major issues as of now -
1) I could not find the rom.zip file.
2) My phone is now dead and I cant get it back to the HTC brilliant screen. It always boots into fastboot mode.
How can I get my phone to boot into HTC screen to charge it? Has anyone had this issue.
Any help would be soo apreciated...
Hope you have luck, my biggest issue is that i dont run windows, im going to have to stick the ruu on a usb stick when it finally finishes downloading. and take it to my girlfriends laptop to fix long
Also i wouldnt worry about it booting straight to fastboot.. that happened to me when i relocked to bootloader with:
fastboot oem lock
just fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin (or whatever the file is)
and it should just hang at htc again..
Thanks -
and yes I did relock.
I just unlocked again but it still boots into fastboot. Although I now have clockwork recovery.
I ran the nandroid backup again that I had made. This time when I powered down the phone actually stays off.
If the phone is completely off with the red light on does this mean that its charging again? or does it have to be on the HTC screen? Im scared to touch it again as Im hoping its charging.
Also - does anyone know if the software prompt that pops up when you run the RUU file do the same thing as running the command lines? I ran it earlier to confirm that my battery was indeed under 30 percent.
I just cant find the rom.zip file for some bizzare reason.
.... i left mine in fastboot accidently whilst i was waiting for RUU now it is not turning on at all.. what do i do
EDIT: situation has changed plugged it into power rather than pc and it is back on
also jfrock.. how long did the rru take you to download! im anxious to get this working again
OK jfrock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616741
download that..
flash the correct boot.img file 126 /128
fastboot flash boot <filename>
this should fix your nandroid backup as the restore doesnt actually restore the boot.img i dont think
i am now having trouble flashing my insertcoin rom it is saying it cannot open it and (bad)
Thanks Buddy! Downloading now.
I took a break to clean my apartment to get my mind off things.
Im back now will let you know how things go.

The Rom took a long time. It said it was going to be hours so I let it run last night and went to bed. Im not sure how long it was though as I was sleeping.
---------- Post added at 08:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:56 PM ----------
so it said that I didnt have enough charge to run it. I ran the restore stock recovery to get it to charge whille off. Now I can turn the phone off even on USB and it stays off with red light on so I think its charging again. I could be wrong. I guess that I will just have to wait a few hours and find out.
Editing this to say battery is now charging. I tried to let it charge before while in Clockwork Recovery. Fell asleep watching tv. When I woke upit was dead again. Ran battery check with the link you provided it was at 2 percent.
I turned it off again and plugged it into the wall. Let it charge for 30min and then ran battery check. Its now at 19percent!!!! I have never been so excited to see a battery charge.
One step at a time I guess. Its going to be a few hours or more to get this back up enough to do anything with it.
I will report back later.
dam! its dead again. Walked over light was off checked battery and its back to 0. Starting to think Im never going to get my phone working again.
Back up to 13 percent. I think whats happening is every once in a while the Red Light goes off for some reason while charging and then drains the battery.
Im checking on it every 15min or so by booting into fastboot. Run battery check in CWM then reboot into fastboot. Shutdown and plug back in wall.
Why on earth it wants to discharge the battery after charging for a little while is beyond me.
It worked!!!!!
It was saying battery to low to flash the 1.28 boot.img.
So I ran the 1.26 and that worked. Then I powered off and entered fastboot again then ran the 1.28.
Success!!! Phone is now fully booted and charging.
Now, do I dare try to continue to flash a new Rom in the morning when Im at 100percent.
Thanks you so much to pointing me in the right direction Its beyoned appreciated.

Hi
I have the same problem as you have , but i cannot unlock it back agin it has not enough battery to do so ,
So now it turn to bootloader "relocked" and cannot flash anything because battery is not enough ,
Is there any way to charge it ??? PLZ HELP
wont tuch HTC ever again
Try every thing , this phone belongs to the garbage
Just threw 700$ to the trash
If your battery is too flat to flash a new recovery via fastboot, and you're stuck with the old reovery what doesn't charge when the power is off or in bootloader/recovery, you're in a bit of a pickle.
The battery should still charge for the few seconds between when you power on and when it enters the bootloader, so you will just need to keep rebooting it over and over while plugged in until your battery is back up to over 30%.
A few people ahve reported this method to work. Personally, I haven't tried it, but it's worth a shot.
I have put a rubber band on the power button and pluged it to the charger for
3 hours , it turn on and off constantly but of course it stiil empty , do not think it will work
even if i will live it like this for 48 houers , but i will try , dose someone try this ?
you need to do it quickly and manually. Holding down the button doesn't tuen it off for 10 seconds each time and that uses more power than what it's getting in the few seconds of charge each cycle.
If it wasn't working, it would be completely flat by now.
---------- Post added at 05:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:24 PM ----------
I wonder has anyone tried charging via the dock pins in this state?
I understand you , it have stay on bootloader for 3 second until it turn off and on the briliant screen for 3 second also , now i have put another rubber band on the + volume ,so it stay on the briliant screen for 3 second and turn off after 0.5 second on the boot screen , I hope ...

Well that is a bit difficult having a low battery. If you can get into fastboot mode make sure you select "Fastboot USB" by pressing the power button. And then you type "fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-endeavoru.img".
You have to make you have the Fastboot files are in your C: drive and have all the HTC drivers installed.

They might have to charge you to fix the phone. It won't be covered under warranty because of the custom ROM that was flashed on it.
Charge your phone in the "HTC QUIETLY BRILLIANT" screen you dont going to see any notification light. But if you have a light notification in your usb charger you going to see when your phone is charging or not.
Try to charge the phone a complete night.

Ok so here's what i did.
I rooted the phone, installed the CWM Recovery and everything.
Next I installed the Android Revolution HD Rom 7.1.0 by doing the "Super Wipe".
It got into boot loops
Then after factory resetting and every other things I could do I tried to do the new RUU on my O2 HTC One X Unlocked.
For that you have to Re-Lock it (which I did)
And I cant go into any of the Fastboot settings etc too because its battery level is very low.
Please someone help me. I just bought this phone

I cannot go into the fastboot and do the stuff because it prompts me that I have less battery. There's another problem that the phone doesn't shut off. When it gets out of juice then it turns black, the notification light blinks then when its charging, it loads the Bootloader. It simply just doesn't turn off and that leads to the problem that it uses up the battery much more than the required :/
I've tried powering down from the menu but no use

Can anyone tell me the solution to this "keep turning on" habit. If that's resolved there's nothing to it then. Please help me out here :'(

OK so I managed to get the phone UNLOCKED (Finally)
Now when I flash the 5.8.4.0 recovery it says
"unknown partition 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-endeavoru.img'
error: cannot determine image filename for 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-end
eavoru.img'"
So i booted the phone into the recovery mode instead of flashing.
I am finally getting somewhere but how do i know it's charging there? I don't see the red LED turn ON :/
LATEST UPDATE:
So when I unlocked the bootloader again. Apparently that solved the "not turning off" habit of the phone.
I went into the bootloader and Power Down my phone, Now it's on charge (waiting for it to turn green)
And I have the O2 branded HTC One X. I also updated it to the 1.29.206.XX something.. I don't remember :/
And I only see one RUU for the O2 branded Phone and that is like 1.26.XXX.XX thing... Will that cause problems since I upgraded the firmware??

Why is it so hard for guys to flash roms. Man its getting old seeing 50,000 of the same threads over and over.
Ok on to helping
You have latest recovery. So boot to fastboot & flash the roms boot.IMG ( fastboot flash boot boot.img) now unplug the phone, press the power button. Now your back in hboot select recovery, once there click mounts & storage button , mount USB drive. Now copy the Rom to your phone. Unmount USB drive, now flash super wipe script. BUT DON'T REBOOT AFTER YOU FLASH THIS!!!!!! choose option to select another zip to flash. This time flash your Rom & reboot. Now your done. Simple huh. & to answer your ruu ?, you can't downgrade ruu's if your on 1.29, your stuck with it till a newer one comes out.

Woah! That's spot on... I was surely gonna mess up my phone if i had done the RUU.
Its charging while the screen is off as we speak. But I think there is a problem with the charge thingy.
Its off and charging.. but sooner or later it turns off due to low battery (IM SUCH A NOOB I DNT KNW IF THE LOW BATTERY IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM)
I'll wait for it to charge again though and connect to the PC again
In the meanwhile can u answer me something regarding this
1. Does the red light turns on while charging in CWM 5.8.4.0
2. Does the mount USB Drive works? :'( Cuz when the phone was working fine. The mount USB Drive failed and gave an error of having a "lunfile missing" :/
Both of your questions can be found :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
i flashed the boot.img like ray said. then i turned the phone to recovery mode it went there and then mounted the usb it worked etc.
but I didnt flashed just yet.. i wanted it to be charged so i turned it off.. I am again getting that "not turning off" habit again
OH God what am i doing wrong here
PLEASE!! Someone help me! It's got that nasty thing that gets HTC Queitly Brilliant thing again.. It's charging but won't go into the recovery mode now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can I charge my phone while on Relocked Bootloader. I need help u guys!
Hi guys, im new here and I would like to seek help to fix my phone. I searched for similar threads but like this but my situation is different.
So I bricked my HOX last night (long story and because of the other things I did in panic some of which I cant remember a full story may not be relevant) but here is my situation
Now my battery says its too low to flash so I cant RUU flash
Its also re-locked and because battery is low, I cant flash the unlock (FAILED: battery low)
Im also not sure which CWM version I have. I do remember I flashed 5.8.4.0 at some point but Im not too sure if I overwrote with another. (So im not sure which CWM I have installed)
All these I tried today thinking I have 30% battery because I left the phone plugged to the wall last night but apparently the phone didnt charge thats why Im in this situation (battery too low to flash)
Now I managed (I think so) to turn off the phone, the screen isnt on (But there is no red light). But I will leave it plugged to the wall anyway (using HTC cable and charger)
edit: the phone screen is on, im leaving it plugged to the wall and there is this red warning saying battery level is too low to flash (so Im not sure if its charging)
Anything I can do to fix this problem?
Thanks!

I had a similar issue. Although you are a silly bugger for panicking and then forgetting what you did.
The only things I can suggest, assuming you still have 5.8.4.0 I think it charges in this version? See of you can do that...
If not, I am not sure.
I assume you did a nandroid and have tried restoring it?
Did you remember to flash the boot.img before installing the ROM that I assume bricked your phone?

Im not sure if the current one is 5.8.4.0. I do remember flashing it last night but maybe it did'nt work coz after that I charged the phone overnight (well for about 5 hours or so) and it still "battery too low to flash"
as for nandroid, I know I pressed backup at then the CWM but that was everything got bricked. Now I dont know if its still relevant (when the phone was unlocked I did go to CWM backup and it said phone is restored but that didnt help. Nothing happened and I could not boot)
I do remember that I flashed with boot.img from the "aokp_ICJ421-V2.0" but then again Im not sure if thats relevant since I did so many flashing and unflashing and what not :crying:
So now Im in a situation where I want to do the RUU but I cant because battery is too low, and Im not sure if its charging because Im not sure what my CWM version is but I cant flash the CWM to latest anyway because 1. phone is relocked 2. phone battery is too low to flash to either unlock or update CWM version :crying:
edit:
The RED LED light is on. Is it charging? But the screen is also on =(
Re: Bricked HTC One X, not charging cannot RUU less than 30% battery
Oke do this :
Download this file
http://db.tt/aLqeTpPO
Copy it to your fastboot folder, put the phone in the bootloader and execute the file. It will continuously reboot the phone and charge it little by little. Leave it for an hour or so and check how the battery is doing
Re: Bricked HTC One X, not charging cannot RUU less than 30% battery
You can always try a universal charger.

No mate don't use a universal charger, chances of draining the batt with them are even bigger ..... They often can't supply the needed power to the phone. Especially when the screen is on
Hi, how do i execute the file? is it by cmd? what is the command to type? thanks
Re: Bricked HTC One X, not charging cannot RUU less than 30% battery
Just execute the batch file by double clicking it.....from the fastboot folder

TWRP for U Play
WARNING: SOME USERS ARE EXPERIENCING BOOTLOOP AFTER OTA UPDATING WITH TWRP.
DO NOT FLASH THIS RECOVERY INSTEAD USE FOR TEMPORARY BOOT IF YOU WANT OTA UPDATE
For direct booting without installation use
"fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1-0-alpine.img" in the bootloader menu (white screen )
If you want permanent installation follow these steps
NOTE: Please Check the partition table for your model and flash recovery to that block,
using wrong block can brick your device
use this command in terminal emulator or adb to check partition table
Code:
cat proc/emmc
for me its mmcblk0p39
Boot twrp from bootloader
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1-0-alpine.img
now that your booted into twrp open adb and use these commands
Push Recovery Image to phone
Code:
adb push twrp-3.1.1-0-alpine.img /data/local/tmp
Set permission for recovery image
Code:
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/twrp-3.1.1-0-alpine.img
Backup Current Recovery Image (in case you want to go back or failed)
Code:
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p39 of=/sdcard/backup.img
Copy recovery to block
Code:
adb shell dd if=/data/local/tmp/twrp-3.1.1-0-alpine.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p39

yes i have used it however you need to have s off to install it. Else you can just boot it temporary ( fastboot boot )
OTA updates might crash the system

Thanks for that, how do you recover after OTA crashes the system? I wish I'd known, I'm trying to see if I leave it off for about 72 hours if it will switch back on as advised in another forum. How do you get S-OFF on HTC U Play? I've only managed to unlock bootloader

I've tried all of that I'm afraid as soon as it gets a bit of power the cycle happens and the PC doesn't have time to recognize the device before it reboots, it doesn't respond to the power key or any combination of key pressing, just keeps on in the boot loop. From what I've learned I'm assuming the problem is that 52MB TWRP image, it doesn't work on this phone, the update will be trying to boot the phone into recovery but because the recovery doesn't work it creates a bootloop..so far it's been 48hrs, will try switch it back on on monday as suggested here https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...g-failures-t3596427/post74189767#post74189767 . Hi, did you have any luck? I'm stuck in the same boot loop.. I even took off the case and removed the black battery cable over night but still same boot loop, did running down battery help?
Hi, don't dismantle it or any of that other stuff suggested above, let it bootloop til the battery is flat, leave it, do not charge it or do anything to it for 11+ days, then charge it and it will switch back on, no problem, you'll have your phone back.
Ok thanks, it's been about 5 days off so far from dying from the boot loop, I'll give it another 10 days before charging it and see how it goes..
Thanks again for your response..
