Hey guys, just opened my new Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus and got it activated. Any word on any roms that are going to be baked up for the Sprint version? I see there is not an appropriate section yet. I know this is somewhat of a question, but I think other might be looking for this post when they open their phone today too. Thanks!
ditto
You Sprint folks need to learn where to post. Sprint is CDMA...but questions, etc. need to be posted in the appropriate forum.

Actually this forum is specifically for Verizon CDMA. I'm sure a new forum will be started specifically for Sprint.
Doubt it. They are too similar. There is no reason to split the forum for Sprint.
I say a special forum for sprint would keep things less cluttered and less confusing I don't see any harm in it ...
Just a thought ..

Well in the general sprint galaxy nexus thread looks like everything works except phone service LOL
So a new forum would be nice, but i guess they could just fix a minor something in these roms and put up a sprint version.
I just think it would be less cluttered and crowded if we each had our own section, to discuss whatever..
And how is this Development?.

Hello developers,
A thread has been created to help to make the honeycomb functional.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025263
Please share your knowledge and let's make this sweet.
**The thread goes for both the GSM and CDMA versions
This is why I think it was a silly idea to split GSM and CDMA forums, they could have clearly been separated by peoples eyes and tags. Now we have to mess about going back and forth instead of having everything in one topic/forum

it would be wise to create another forum, this time with mixed topics from both, like this case

Indeed, Or just scrap the splitting of GSM and CDMA altogether.
A dedicated HoneyComb forum would be a good idea though.
Now we have 4 hc threads going its bound to get confusing

Maybe that's why Spacemoose1has released the third build with a purportedly easier install, and getting no comments whatsoever

I'd prefer a dedicated honeycomb forum.
I find the forums much better now.... as a euro gsm tab owner I no longer have to sift through all the non-relevant info for gsm tab topics and I'm sure cdma users have similar views.
So we have *another* honeycomb thread that just links us to another Honeycomb thread? Jesus. This GSM/CDMA split was a bad decision.

I don't think it was a bad choice, I just think people are to lazy to open up more than 1 tab at a time in their browser. I don't have any problems keeping track of various threads in various forums... that's what the subscribe button is for! I do think that this and it's attached thread are a very bad idea, considering we have a GSM and a CDMA post already in place to track the development. There (shortly) wont be a need to cross-check between CDMA and GSM platforms, because they will become their own entities... they just are not at the moment. (At least not in the Honeycomb realm)
Everyone in the HD2 forums thought separating them as they are now was going to be bad... but jesus, with 7 OS's on one device, that'd be ridiculous...

the purpose tf link to the other thread is to attract the GSM Devs to the HC thread, it is not a GSM or CDMA division here, many GSM devs don't check that CDMA often so this link-thread is for gather everyone in one place.
we had 2 or 3 HC threads but none was purely for general development, so this one is for that.

No, this one is to point people to that one and that one is just a copy of information available on the other two... It's redundant.
Trust me, GSM devs are checking all the forums... If not, than they are cruddy devs.

I guess that is true, but that's xda for ya! People don't like searching.
We have Specemooses update thread, the CDMA and GSM rom threads. This thread and the thread this links to are unnecessary IMHO.

yeah, I get it.
Once it reaches a week, and everyone notice it, I will delete this link-thread
So I bought a bad esn epic and a boost phone and successfully cloned the boost phone to the bad esn epic. So I have two epics right now (one for each ear?). As you can see in my other completely unanswered post I was debating whether or not to sell the new one.
I've decided to stay with sprint for a bit longer but I want to keep the replacement phone they sent me in the box. Unopened that is!
My original epic has a busted battery connector which I have bent a bit so it will stay on as long as I don't jar it, so I can read data off of it with CDMA workshop etc. The busted battery thingy is why Sprint replaced it for some cash of course.
So I want to clone my epic over to the bad esn epic. I can't figure out what I'm missing, I cant get the 3g to work (I haven't even tried the 4g). I'm sorta following the epic to boost instructions but I must be missing something.
Is this just copying the thing over in CDMA workshop?
Help please?? Pretty please? With sprinkles on top?
(I have to beg 'cause no one answered my other q )
super-grassy-ass in advance. I hope..............

Hey, if you are an admin, then just close the thread.
If you are not an admin, why are you offering responses that don't have anything to do with my question?
If you're correct the proper people will handle it. In the meantime perhaps you could troll another thread.
There are threads about flashing your phone to a different carrier, that's allowed. Cloning esn's just isn't. I think there was a thread in q&a within the past week or so.

And your telling me that would help how, exactly? You may not be trying but I think you are succeeding. Do you police your neighborhood and make citizen's arrests as well? You may be right but wtf?
You're right, you win. I'll leave your thread now.

Why would you post this instead of just going away? Are you one of those thread trolls that also needs the last word?? I'm having trouble figuring out any of your motivations here except verbosity.
And while I stand by my comments, I apparently got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning. :-(

Actually, the way I see it by both my thread count, and thanks count, I clearly present some value to the Epic forum. You on the other hand, decide you want to flame back at someone when they are just nicely informing you of the forum rules, like a good member of the forum would. There was nothing mean or trollish about my first post in this thread.
Wow, I see you changed your OP. Guess something I said must have been right.
No esn cloning. Please, instead of fighting with one of our arguably best themers, ask somewhere else. A quick google search pulls up the info you want. You obviously have not exhausted all your resources before asking here.
Here's a useful response.
We don't allow discussion of esn closing.
As someone with a sprint galaxy nexus. it's hard to find clear topics on what's relevant to my device.
Perhaps we can separate General by CDMA/LTE and GSM/HSPA
or alternately since sprint and verizon have differences themselves.
Sprint Nexus, Verizon Nexus and GSM Nexus.
Hey buddy. We've been dealing with it just fine before the Sprint phone showed up. General and Q&A need to be kept together. The only need for separate forums is when it comes to Development (which they've added).
MOST topics pertain to everyone. And if theres a need for a specific thread, label it with [SPRINT], [VERIZON], or [GSM]. There's no need to spread out the usefulness of a general forum because you can't comprehend what's going on in an OP.

No need for over-organization. This is fine.
Been fine over at the nexus s forums for a while. A month after the spring phone has been out. It week seem less cluttered

If you can't differentiate between a GSM thread or a CDMA thread I don't think you need to be flashing your phone anyway. Plus most "general" issues are the same no matter the device.

I bought a phone for my mom for christmas and when I tried to activate it the sprint rep told me that the the phone is still activated on another account. So now Im trying to sell it for someone who needs it for Metro or Boost. But people are charging $60+ to flash it. Now , Im already going to lose money , I just dont want to lose more by flashing it for $60. Anyone know how to flash it or if theres anything I can still do to this phone to activate it on Sprint.

#1 there is a lot of info in the general section if you search. How-To's and such.
#2 this is the dev section. Please ask/PM a mod to move it into the Q&A. *beat me to it*

just youtube qbking77, all answers you need should be there.
Post it on Craigslist without flashing to metro. I'm sure someone that can flash it themselves might want it. Some retail stores, whom flash to metro, also buy phones.

Google Chris41g Boost Epic 4G and you'll find a guide to Boost.
Works on this phone and will work for other carriers as well if you know the missing pieces.
i was thinking about switching to sprint and i was wondering if i could flash my boost galaxy s2 4g to sprint just like sprint phones can go to boost. thanks.

I haven't ranted in a while but this time it's due..
I really don't get you.. You start threads all over so there is no excuse for you not knowing that Questions go in Q&A. You must know the rules (at least somewhat) because you harped on Garwynn and I for going off topic.
It's people like you that tick me off. And I hope you don't come back with a reply like "I'm just a kid" since we have 13 year olds here who are developers.
You have started threads and people tell you to use the search function and you would have found your answer. Hell, you don't even look outside of the E4GT Section.. Just like your question on deodexing.
You've asked for help, I tried to advise on other issues and you completely ignore what I or any other very helpful replies you've had.
So to answer your question, here's the last spoon I give you. Congratulations, you've made the second person I've used the ignore button on.
Figure it out from here..
i searched the topic and cant find it. btw i meant to post in the Q&A. sorry about that. also im sorry about not listening to your advice on the GC01 thread. there was just no other way to explain it. and i would like a mod to please move this thread to Q&A.

Yes it can be done. It will require some foot work and very heavy reading on your end.
All the info you need to do it can be found (directly or indirectly) in this thread.
