So I started up Asphalt HD and it informs me of a 100MB update, no biggie I got wifis and the 4Gs.. so it downloads and then takes me to the start menu, I click play and it says you have 5 minutes of free play, blah blah, then crashes immediately. WTF. I wiped my phone to factory defaults once too and tried after that and the same thing... anyone else have this problem?
No, but when I went to the market to buy it, it would get as far as the gameloft screen (even that didn't look right) and it would freeze. Tried uninstall and refund, neither worked. I got the game off eventually but it refused a refund. That was 5 bucks. Went to the demo and tried to but that, they wanted 7 bucks for that. They also want to charge it to your phone number. I didn't like that idea but tried it anyways. Got stuck on the screen saying please wait (for purchasing I guess) and froze there. Tried going to website for help, they don't even list the game. I tried looking for help there. They wanted my phone number or email to find my purchase. It said there was no record for me. After all that, to put that feeling into words.....
The demo included by sprint doesnt work for me, but the game works when I download it from the market. I ended up removing the demo anyway.
I found a download for need for speed shift, which is way better in my opinion. Need an unlocked phone to play it.

NFS:Shift is amazing.
Can this be done? Anyone doing it already?

Tried CM10, altered build.prop to samsung, still no go.
Anyone running NFL Mobile by Verizon on their Kindle?
Seem to be talking to myself, that's OK, not the first time. Still hoping someone can offer some insight.
I'm still running CM10 and the NFL Mobile app shows as incompatible in the Play store. Last night I pulled the NFLmobile.apk from my phone and pushed it to my Kindle. It installed fine, but when I launched it immediately went to an upgrade that apparantly doesn't work because it just sits there. Also, I'm not sure where the apk got installed to, it's not in the system>app, on the phone is was under system>vendor>app, but the Kindle doesn't have that, so maybe I need to create?
Also, I've been reading about a client that needs to be installed, I think I may have found that on my phone an I'm going to install that as well. Think it has to do with registering or signing in???
Thanks for listening.
I pulled com.mobitv.client.nfl2010-1.apk from the data/app directory of my phone and installed it on the kindle. Told me that it was replacing an app, then I launched it and a different dialog box popped up that said something about NFL mobile only for verizon customers. I guess next step is to install the verizon sign in client?

This is a longer post so please bear with me. I have an R800i, never been rooted, stock Android 2.3.4. Recently I've decided to do a factory reset (erase all data), just to clean up the phone a bit and get some more RAM space.
After the reset I'm re-downloading some of the games I have bought on Google Play. There are no problems EXCEPT for these two games:
Galaxy on Fire 2 and Lara Croft: Guardian of Light.
I can download the basic "apk" from the Google Play correctly, but once I start the games they need to download additional data, and that's when problems arise. What happens is this:
Galaxy on Fire 2 Xperia Play edition: It asks to download a 400MB file, I click OK then nothing happens, then an error message: "Are you sure you want to quit? Error: java.io.IOEXCEPTION: Unexpected Http status code 404 expected 200".
Lara Croft: Guardian of Light: It downloads a bit of data, than wants me to tap display to confirm, I tap and then an error message: "Error (Marmalade v5.2.3 [306653]) Cannot open file console.bin for serialising (read). Did you include this file in your mkb's "assets" block?"
This happens all the time, I've tried countless times. On different wifi hotspots too.
I have NEVER EVER before experienced these error messages. The two games are now impossible to download because of this. It happens on wifi and 3g, the same situation. I have since re-done the factory reset twice (I once reinstalled Android using the Sony Companion software on my PC) and the problem persists. Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause?
Could this mean the games are no longer available to download, even though I've paid for them?
Should I contact the devs regarding this?
I must stress again, I have never even attempted to root my phone.
I would greatly appreciate any advice.
You should try contacting the developers since it seems like an error on server side (404 means not found, so yeah...), and if they cannot help you, then you should manually download data from internet (it's not illegal if you paid those apps).
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
I'm starting to think I will never be able to play these two games again on my Xperia Play.
It's strange, because every other game in my Google Play library works.
Not that it matters but I have contacted both developers. No response from Fishlabs yet, they only registered my question.
Square Enix Europe (Lara Croft game), on the other hand, sent me a response which says: "We would recommend you upgraded your OS for the latest Android OS available and start downloading the game again.". LOL they apparently have no clue that I CANNOT upgrade my XP to a higher version of Android and this is the best they can get.
I've recently just fired up my AFTV after about 4 months sitting to one side. It looks as though it's been auto-updated to the new version automatically (I never put in place any of the update blocks).
I went to start Netflix, and it says it needs to be updated. I then tried to update and it said that pricing was unavailable and there is no way to install it that I can see from the built-in app store. Assuming this is some type of enhanced geo blocking on Netflix's behalf, I found another user that mentioned deregistering and re-registering the device allows the new Netflix version to download and work. However, once I de-registered, it now won't let me register with my Amazon email address and password. I've confirmed that the credentials are definitely still working fine on Amazon web and 3 different device running Kindle, so I know it's not an account problem.
Has anybody else had issues not being able to re-register their device?
I have been trying to set up a few devices (Roku, Smart Outlets primarily) on my 2XL using Google Home. However, after I enter my account details and click to Authorize, Google Home simply returns to the list of manufacturers and does not actually add anything. I have cleared cache and data from the Home app, restarted my phone etc. Nothing makes any difference.
The issue does appear to be with the phone though, as I was able to add the devices using a tablet where they immediately got linked to my Home account and let me assign a room.
Any ideas what could be causing it on the phone? My phone is not rooted, but was once, it does have an unlocked bootloader. Using a Root Checker it says "Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device" I am actually not concerned about having root either, as it was causing issues with Samsung Pay IIRC. While not the end of the world as I can set devices up on my tablet, is there any way I can get it working on the phone?
Thanks.
