[Q] dead battery - Windows Phone 7 General

After 4 months of use, my battery is dead.
I charge it, but talking 30 minutes on phone, make my phone shutdown!
Anyone experimented something like that?

What do you mean "experimented"? Just buy a new battery, that's it. If quick discharge will continue, ask again - probably something wrong with your phone.

Wow, never had a battery last like that and die after 4 months. Sounds like you just got a defective battery. It's rare but, like anything else, is possable. Is it OEM or 3rd party ?
If you got the phone new from a carrier, tell them a the problem, they might cover it under warranty, or contat the OEM on it. If you dont want to go through that, dump it and buy a new one. A new OEM battery should not be like that.
If it's a 3rd party, I would contact them, some of the quality of 3rd party batteries can be questionable.
That does suck....

Not to mention most OEM smartphone batteries go for $3-7 on eBay!

Its an OEM battery. I just bought a new one from ebay..
I'd never thought it could be a defective battery, since like you said, it's rare. But makes sense.
Thank you, now I wait some weeks for the new one battery (I'm from Brazil, and takes 4 weeks to get something from ebay....)

This is actually an interesting article for all of us using lithium-based/ion batteries...in phones/mobile devices nowadays.
http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries
Don't let it discharge fully...it reduces the number of charge cycles it has.

Interesting reading...but, lithium-based/ion batteries are still old tech. I really wish someone would invent a newer super long life in a small package (a "true"5-6 day battery). We got all this cool tech in phones but, we are using old battery tech.

[Q] Extended battery 3500 mAh dealextreme

Hey guys,
I just got my phone two days ago, but currently my Galaxy S2 just barely makes up 1 day with moderate use. (so no gaming, watching youtube or GPS)
I've been searching for an extended battery to prolong the current use of my phone on one charge, and I found these two options.
Has anyone tried one of these battery's:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/replac...y-cover-set-for-samsung-i9100-galaxy-s2-91182
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/replac...h-back-case-for-samsung-i9100-galaxy-s2-67304
I know someone who purchases stuff from this website regularly so I'm not questioning the safety of the website, only the quality of the battery. And I know its makes the phone thinker, but that's fine for me.
Btw, I've read also the alternative solutions about putting a ROM on the phone, but I'm not good at that so I'd rather get an extended battery.
Though, I'm not sure how safe non-orginal batteries are from Asia.
Anyone have any experience with that? And is there a risk for the phone, or is the only risk that the battery will just suck?
I've previously read these threads about extended batteries:

Any relevant threads that I missed, in order to make a good judgement?
Thanks for your advice!

The only non official battery I would get is Mugen. Or the samsung one.
The Anker ones get 'ok' reviews but there is hardly any proof your better off than stock (although You do get two of them... so that is going to be double the running time).
Have you not tried checking your settings, making sure you dont have any known terrible battery life apps etc etc etc?
When I first got my SGS2 I could run for 24hours straight easily on Wifi most of the time and loads of texts.
I now have around 65% left before bed so no idea what battery life would be like now. but I know you said you dont want to change roms/underclock etc...
I plan on getting the Samsung 2000mAh one when i get bored though.
I was gonna say the same thing- Mugen Power or official ones. Batteries are one thing you do NOT want to bootleg for a plethora of reasons.
Mugan and Seidio batteries are just as bad as the no name brands. They are like Monster Cable, in otherwords ALL BS marketing! www.batteryboss.org has tests. OEM batteries are the best if they make a extended battery or any cheap thing on the net will do, Since they are so cheap you can get double or triple the number of batteries for what you pay for one brand name one
I heard one saying" the man who uses smartphone is a good man, because he must go home and charge the mobile phone every night"
i bought several batteries from here.

Alright, so what settings in particular would you check? I have GPS always turned off, except when I really use the navigation. Screen brightness lowest. Overall I just have the basic apps Office apps, Dropbox, Skype etc. I know there are several apps to "tweak" the phone, but I haven't had time to dig into the whole thing. What ROM do you use, and what tweaking apps? CynoginMod or something? Any quick short tips?
Moreover, I like the functionalities of the basic ROM, and don't know how to put on any different ROM yet, including what the advantages/disadvantages will be.
Though, I love the phone as it is at the moment. Just the battery life is not that great.

Nice try Luis2012. I'm not surprised you say you got the best service, as it seems you are either the owner or the promoter of that website.
Or is it a coincidence that virtually every single post out of all 19 posts, you recommend a product from that wesbite?
Moreover, I assume both websites "papadigitals, and "digglove", are yours, since they have identical layout and you both promote them as being a satisfied "customer" in virtually every post of yours.

The battery has part number LG BL-T7. This is the battery that is in the G2 i believe. Also it has already been confirmed the G2 battery is not the same dimensions so it will not fit our N5's.

Yep, didn't notice the BL-T7 before you pointed it out. That said the issue with the T7 was the stepped design that made it thicker. This one appears flat like the T9 that comes in the N5. So there is a possibility if the stepped design wasn't used that the battery could fit.
Personally I have no battery issues, the thing lasts all day for me and then some. However if I ever did have battery issues it would be nice to know there was something to upgrade to.
Seems like too much trouble for a phone that doesn't really have battery problems anyway.

Just because you and I and some others have no issues doesn't mean there's not legions of others who do. Like I said, I have no issues despite medium use, but I know many people that use their phones differently than I who need a beefier battery. Seeing as how it's not too terribly difficult to get to the battery, if there is a 3000mah one that works with our phones, why not let those people who need it use it?
You and I are most assuredly in the minority of people with no battery issues though, of that I'm certain.

But for those people who do need more battery, what's a 3000mah really going to do? Give you another couple hours? They'd be better served getting an external battery that would double their phone time and still only be the size of a tube of lipstick rather than tear their phones apart and void their warranties.

I don't disagree with you, but just playing with numbers, if the phone lasts 10 hours with the 2300, then it would be over 13 hours with a 3000, could be the difference between finding a charger mid day and not worrying about it. For some people the few hours is all the difference so why carry around a charger when you only need a few more?
Again though, I don't disagree with you, it's just that with the immense diversity in the way people use their phones, there isn't an easy solution to apply to all. For some the stock is good, for some a couple extra hours is what they need, and for others they'll need an external battery pack, just all depends on the user and their needs.

Better ask yourself why Google doesn't want you to change the battery.
For me a changeable battery is a must-have. I'm a heavy user, and this is my first Nexus device (since Samsung Galaxies und HTCs). Since it does not have a changeable battery I'm using now a anker power bank which charges the Nexus5 pretty fast. But this does it hurt my Nexus battery? What if my Nexus battery is crap? Looking at my old S3 und old HTC devices this happend to me.
Looks like the seller is under the impression that the nexus 5 32gb came with a 3000mah battery like some of the rumors suggested. My guess is that the seller isn't up to date with his information. I highly doubt this battery fits......but if someone wants to go for it be my guest and report back please :laugh::laugh::good::good:

This was my thoughts too.
As for the others saying 3000mah wouldn't be worth the swap should watch the iFixit teardown. It is stupid simple to do a 1 time swap. Also my battery generally last the whole day but i have had a few where i needed to plug it in to keep it form prematurely dying on me when i needed to use it. I am a guy that likes to have as little items as possible. I have 2 keys on my key ring, my car, and my house, no bling keychains. So carrying a external power bank is my last choice. While at work i just plug it in when needed, which has been never so far. But on weekends is where i find it falling short as i tend to use the phone more.
tagging along
The problem is going to be, even if someone does make a battery that is compatible with the Nexus 5, its going to be some no name Chinese battery and it will never actually live up to the mah rating that its sold as. So even if they do sell a "3000 mah" battery for the Nexus 5, it would be amazing if the real rating of the battery was even 2500mah. Unless these no name battery companies have really upped their game in the last year or two, they almost never actually deliver the battery capacities that they list.
I personally wouldn't buy batteries from ebay. Too much risk for the amount of savings. Best case scenario is that it doesn't hold the stated charge, worse case is that it explodes on you like so many reports have indicated with people using no name third party accessories.
sorry the link

I've bought two different OEM batteries made in China for my netbook and both are poor quality despite the manufacturer's claims. Unfortunately I could not find any Japanese or Korean cells. I'm not going to gamble on putting an OEM battery inside my Nexus.
Lol. Larger capacity batteries, and in original size? There's no official manufacturer and can only be bought from ebay? Sounds like the various ones mentioned in the other flagship forums, like the S4. The story usually turns out the same. Someone baits desperate readers in, then when buyers get it, a bunch of them come back saying they don't see a difference despite advertised of being +25% larger, calling it a fraud. Buy only if you are susceptible to the placebo affect.

Any batteries available for ZF2 with higher capacity?

That would be great! Not just from ASUS but even from a 3rd party vendor.

This does QuickCharge 2.0 in AND out: http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Certified-Aukey-10400mAh-Supported/dp/B00UBDI7EC
It's pretty compact too. I use a lot of Aukey products; at first I thought they were a knockoff Anker but they're just as good.
There's also this one with the same capacity, but it's longer and has two ports and an LED flashlight. So it's basically same capacity, but do you want portability or flexibility.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B011U0AY22?psc=1
So it should charge your battery as fast as the ASUS charger.

Nothing is ever completely "non-removable", mate.
Easiest solution would be a usb power case, although i haven't seen any for this phone so far.
Changing the battery on this phone is a fairly simple process, especially if you have fixed a phone before. The toughest part is the glue, but a little heat goes a long way. Just fixed the screen and changed the battery on a Mate 2, and I think that's a little more complex than the ZenFone 2. The biggest challenge would be finding a higher capacity battery that the firmware would recognize.....and that would fit.

The only company that I think would make an extended battery for this is ZeroLemon. They are the only ones I've seen to use creative shapes to take advantage of extra room in the Z dimension. The only thing that would stop them from taking it on is plain economics. They would have to see that this phone is not only popular enough, but also enough nerds like us to justify dumping resources into R&D for it.

Hello, first and most important: "Sorry for my english", anyone knows where to buy the batery C1191424 in case of be necesary?.
Thanks!!!
hello all,
was wondering since, zenfone max has the same dimensions as ZF2 would it be possible to port the 5000 mah battery on to ZF2.
Thnx
i would love to have my battery capacity change too.. if there is anyone that can know about this its asus..
Guys, I had never see replacement battery for non-removable battery products..you can wish for battery-covers but I don't get the point, the phone in already very big and heavy (170 grams are already a lot), if you increase battery (and it's not possible in the original case, maybe only Mugen is able to do this, but I don't think they will produce a battery for a non-removable product) it will will become a brick and you can use it to build your new house Seriously, I think it's better to buy a powerbank (I use the Xiaomi 10400 and it's great). Asus won't release a new battery for this phone, removing the original battery you will void warranty. For me, no chances.
I am considering the zenfone 2 as an option for my next phone. Thing is, i dont like the idea to have after 2-3 Years get rid of the phone because the battery is gone.
I searched the web and didnt find a original or third party replacement battery.
Is that possible? Any Ideass guys?

Hey Marco!
You made my day! :good::highfive:
Thx for the link!!
Greetings from Germany . . .
Doesn't matter if you see the point or think the phone is already too big. I want a battery case much like the ZeroLemon case for the Galaxy Note series. I dont care how big or bulky my phone is, I have huge hands and I would prefer to have a phone that lasts two days instead of one that looks pretty.
I myself have looked for either a bigger battery, or a case, and have found nothing...
Unfortunately the only solution would be to carry a power bank of some sort. I guess the phone isn't that popular .

I purchased mine in AsusParts, took 2-3 weeks cause it ships from Asia to Europe and then to your country, installed and everything works fine ATM.
Before, I tried at AliExpress but they sent the wrong battery, I think Zenfone 5 has the same battery with a different connector (check my thread about screen replacement in Q&A section for more info)
Yeah, I have tried to find something like that without success.

Where to buy a G5 Plus OEM battery?

I just bought this phone and am thinking about keeping it long term (beyond two years) and am thinking of buying a battery now in case I'd like to replace it later on in life. It just seems like finding batteries now would be easier than a couple of years from now.
Anyone know where to find an OEM 3000mah battery?
Lithium Batteries need to be recharged regularly, if you put it in a drawer for a few years without charging you're in for a nasty surprise once you build it into your phone.
You ought to be really sure if you plan to replace this device's battery one day...
I mean, the whole disassembly process is a pain in the ass. I just recently f*cked the display trying to fix the buttons.
Why not invest in a good powerbank instead like Xiaomi's 10k Mah?
Use it to prolong your phone battery by not letting it drop too low and thus saving your phone battery from degrading faster

Actually after 30 charges, you should pretty much let your battery drain before charging.
How about buying battery from iFixit?
i bought one with a bad esn from ebay for parts.
Is it morally reprehensible? probably.
Do i care? no
I usually do this for every phone i've ever owned for any real amount of time.
It would be useful if people stumbling upon this thread mention their country in the thread so that people who know the process and source can help better

Replacement batteries, which one is good?

Hi everyone,
I've been thinking about replacing my battery and a quick search on Ebay led me to find some sellers who claim to have a 3700 mAh batteries.
Now my first response is to not trust these batteries and just get an original one, which I probably will, but I'm really curious if anyone here has tried one?

What are your thoughts about these?
Don't get any battery that isn't a OnePlus Battery. If you have a choice, never go for the battery that is advertised with a different amperage.
Go for a 3400mAh battery, better if it's a OnePlus original. Since our devices uses Dash Charge, which is only on OnePlus devices, it's best to go for an original, since we cannot know what effect DC will have on third party batteries.
Unless your battery has degraded lower than 50% and you need an emergency replacement till your original arrives, these batteries should not be trusted. There even may be a risk of high thermals and degrading your other phone hardware too.

Exactly my thought. Was just wondering if anyone was mad enough to actually try one of these. You never know, maybe they are unexpectedly good :silly:
Can you point me to any original OnePlus battery replacement?

Ditto, I judt called OnePlus (US support line) and they told me they don't cell the battery or any replacement parts, I would have to send the phone for service to their authorized center.
So does anyone know where I can an original, third party seller one?
I purchased this one a few weeks ago, can't fault it!

I think they sell via a website as well.

Have a look and read on the product page of their website:
https://www.replacebase.co.uk/for-oneplus-3t-replacement-battery-blp633-3300mah-oem/
All I can say is, it's better than the tired one I took out!
I just replaced my OP3T battery with a replacement from here:
https://www.mobilesupplies.nl/oneplus-3t-batterij-blp633-3400-mah-origineel.html
It says it's an original and so far it works like a charm. Will report back on how it performs.

What does the difference between "rated" and "typical" means? I don't understand.

Rated means how much it is designed to have, and tested is the actual amount of MAh in the battery. With every battery there is a difference between rated and tested. 3300MAh tested is actually really good.
I wonder how much the original batteries are tested for.

In their page, they say "Capacity: 3300mAh (rated) 3400mAh (typical)"
BTW, does anyone notice that after replacing the battery, the AccuBattery app is completely out of whack?
I cleared the data to get some clean info on my new battery, but after two or three charges, the app sees my new battery as ~2500mAh and with every charge it's rising. (My last battery was calculated as ~2800mAh)
So far it seems that the battery lasts longer, so the data from the app is conflicting...
I know that the AB app data isn't really reliable in comparison to real measuring equipment, but I'm just wondering about this.
I have replaced it, but it says that it have 0% charge, and doesn't charge anymore. Any help?
Edit: The seller have sent one more to me; it's corrupt, they say.

Ok. The new one have arrive and I have the same problem. Was your replacement plug & play? Were you on OOS?
Both batteries shows 0% battery when I attach them.

In my experience non-OEM batteries start to degrade after a few months. How has yours held up? I'm looking to replace mine if I can find a genuine OEM part.

The one I bought is supposed to be genuine, it even bears a OnePlus logo. But the first died on me in a week or two, so I got a free replacement from them, and so far it fares great. AccuBattery reports it as being well above 3000mAh, and I can reach the end of the day with my phone again, so I'm quite happy.
so why does everyone praise oneplus for their easy to repair devices and parts and build quality and all, if I can't even buy a replacement part? I'm forced to buy a new phone because my battery is broken. So next time I will go and buy a Samsung. Harder to open and all but I can buy a original battery in any other store.

There are plenty of stores that sell original batteries. And a plethora of non-original batteries to choose from too.
I just send my phone back to OP and have them replace the battery under warranty (It's covered.)
