Just hoping for some feedback from European peeps who have updated to 1.28 ota today ?
Any specific good or bad ? My experience so far the tearing or glitches on the screens are all gone , the ring around the camera is the hottest I have felt it so far and the battery seems great on standby , two hours with very minimal use at all still showing 100% then with a five minute stint on temple run and fifteen minutes on here It's nose dived to 60%.
Any other issues so far ?

Are you sure that isn't the existing 1.26 issue? Some people have been reporting that the One X doesn't seem to properly track battery usage during standby so it thinks the battery hasn't run down at all but once you do run something then it notices and you get a massive drop. The drop consisting of the usage during standby and whatever your app used.
I don't think so as since browsing here I am now down to40% and that's just browsing for like 20mminutes. I am on stock Rom as I don't want to risk rooting etc.
Just seems to have dropped like a stone with use , if anything slightly more drain than before the update weird huh

Hmm. Thats not good. I'm still on 1.26 as I've got a branded Orange handset and as per usual, they take ages to do updates.
Has it fixed the screen flicker?
the screen flicker is STILL there,
performance has improved,
battery life is improved,
benchmark results have increased hence the performance improvement,
lets hope the screen flicker is fixable via OTA, surely it can be, its the back light and colours, the light just needs rendering properly
Did they remove the annoying on-screen menu button?

I don't think you can, as their is no menu soft key below the display, so the 3 dots make up for it :/
EDIT: please tell me how you minimize it then? would help
I get a arrow down next to the three dots and if I hide it I can hold the multitask button and it brings it back up.

On my handset i have had no noticable screen flicker at all, gaming is a lot smoother definitely , the battery life is if anything worse so far , but the overall experience is i think "smoother" if thats the right expression
heres hoping the battery life improves over time , did anyone find out 100% if they fixed the wrongly located file issue that was the problem ?

Benchmark is higher
The slight screen flicker when using processor power while not at full brightness is gone
They fixed the wrong alignment in titles when phone font is set to small

Does anyone get flickering in google play? when the app background goes great when before an app loads?
Also when typing I sometimes get flickering. Has to be software related as nothing else flickers.

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering whether anybody else has experienced this side effect of the ITL41F update? My battery life has been really really good, much better than that of my HD7. I was really chuffed with it. Along comes the ITL41F update, and since then the battery will drain itself on standby. Nothing has changed on my phone. I have not installed any new apps or made any settings changes (such as sync frequency, etc). So the only difference is the ITL41F update.
To give you an idea, If I charge the phone in the late afternoon, and then pretty much leave it alone, by the morning it will have gone down to 15% battery or less. This morning I plugged it in again, and now it's down to 50%. And I only sent a single txt message and didn't do anything else on the phone. This is properly rubbish.
Anybody know where I can report this bug to Google/Samsung?

You have a lot of awake time without your screen been on which seems a little strange.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I would say your mobile signal is using up a lot battery. when it is yellow that means its weak, and grey means no signal. Since this is the main 2 colours on your chart I would say this would be the main reason for your battery drain

How would someone go about improving that? My mobile connection is mostly yellow as well. Could APN settings help that? Or would I have to go about flashing a different modem and all that

Are you seriously asking that question?
You improve your mobile signal but getting your network provider to install another mast, or switch to a different network with better coverage in your area.
If you could improve signal with APN settings or flashing a different radio it would be done like that from the factory!
WEll, I have a LG Optimus One and use franco kernel with it, and am soon buying a GN because he develops for it too, SO:
FLASH FRANCO KERNEL!
DOnate him a beer before and ten after the WOW-experience you'll get when you realise 4 days later that your battery is only 10% becuase of the popup.
And now read my words again.
It's the best option!
Your phone was awake for more than 50% of the time. If you really didn't use it, there's most likely a rogue app which is preventing phone from going into deep sleep.
Use an app like System panel to locate the culprit.
nevermind - delete me
Thanks for the fast replies guys, it's much appreciated! =)
What I find puzzling is that absolutely NOTHING has changed on the phone, apart from the update. So if there was a rogue app that was consuming the battery, it should have exhibited that behaviour before the update, right?
I will check with system monitor though, to see if I can spot something. The strange thing I noticed is that the OS is consuming *more* battery than most other functions. Even on standby.... weird!
After finally getting the patch I can't say the battery has been worse. In fact it seems to be better. Although I think that is down to the fact I've been through a few charge cycles now.
click on android OS, and check out the awake and CPU times. The cpu time should be a fractions of the time awake.
example, my phone has been on this charge for 22 hours (still 36% battery left.. didn't use it too much this charge). the leading battery drain is screen at 51% (2.5 hours awake time), and the 2nd leading item is Android OS which has the following:
CPU Total - 18m 53s
Keep Awake - 4h 46m 9s
I'm just curious on why your CPU total was in relation to the awake time by Android OS.
Mines great.

its funny how many similar theads appear everytime a phone gets updated. And most of them all go down to user error.
Just saying. my Gnex is fine after 11F update, OP should probably do a wipe
Guys, I'm not ruling out 'user error', but at this moment in time I cannot see what I could have possibly done to cause it. I have purchased System Panel on the Market and I'm running it in monitoring mode to see if it can shed some light on the issue. Strangely, 'Cut the Rope' and 'Exchange' are running constantly and as a service. Not necessarily consuming CPU while the phone is asleep though. Just though it would be strange for a game to be running as a service? Must be a reason for it....
Ask the developper of "Cut the Rope" why does it need to run that way. Exchange is run as a service because you probably need it.
Anyways, you can try a clean flash with stock ITL41F. But i'd say apps are to blame

I just used all the screen on time for reading a pdf file in ezpdf reader.
Just 20mins of voice call and 15 mins on XDA app through WiFi. Nothing else!

I am not trying to fool anyone. Just posting this to mention that our phone does have this power. No Offence please

So you had a blankpage on your PDF reader app without touching the phone for 12 hours?
Seems abit pointless when on a stock Rom I ran the battery tester on full brightness for 1 hour and dropped to 92% thats 8% per hour.
100/8=12.5
My screen on time would've been 12h30m what's the big deal if I havnt used my phone...

Blank PDF? I never said that. Its a 350 page file, which I read for 12hours. Without touch the phone I don't think I can scroll 350pages
That's impressive! Must try this rom... 23 h with battery with 12 hour screen on... Absolutely flawless!
setting brightness is all well and good but if i'm outside then it would be unusable, nice times though
if the phone screen was just on and without touching we can get more than 12 hours on screen post your pdf viewer time please.
@ nikorette 12 hours + on low brightness i can believe but 12hours+ with full brightness i cannot, people struggle to get past 3-4 hours screen on time with brightness on full so i don't know how you came to that conclusion. Must of calculated wrong.

Have you done the battery test? (Pull battery, lay on table.. spin.. if it spins like a top .. Replace!! , test on both sides) Battery do start to go bad over time. Also can download BestBattery Stats, See what's keeping your phone awake. (Things like Facebook notifications, email sync times, even the LED notification light) will greatly decrease battery life no matter what rom your on. How much screen on time did you have (Didn't see that in the screen shot) Thanks.
probably like 40mins screen time. Facebook refresh is set to 'never' with notifications. Obviously i have direct push emails and things, otherwise what the hells the point of having the phone for email.
Why does it look like i have no mobile signal. I know in the past i would get the LoS and my phone would drain like crazy. But normally i wouldnt receive or sent txts during that time. I was receiving txts during this time. Basically grabbed my phone and sat on a train with it - no different then day 1 i got the phone.

I agree with the push email, I typically set mine to 4 hours or so (i can always open the app if i need to check it again) , are you in a low signal area? I know traveling sometimes will cause signal to jump (mine does 3 times atleast in my 40 min commute to work) Does look like your signal was gone for a bit.. (Could try a different Modem as well see if it helps in your area)
That looks like a bad battery... Even with bad signal your battery shouldn't be creeping that low so quick

It sounds like you guys are sure it is a bad battery, but do you think it could have something to do with the fact you are running ICS? Is it updated? I know that they put a firmware update out that was supposed to help with the ICS battery issue. Did you get it? Because Stock ICS had horrendous battery life to begin with.

people with bad battery life usually should just calibrate it! what happens most time is just that the battery percentage is just not being read correctly by the system!
how was your battery life after update . my was suck drain very fast
I don't know how most people got better battery life, but mine worse, not extreme, but noticeable worse.
Android system and Android OS takes second and third place, which on ICS I barely see their place on top of battery usage.

Seems the same for me...at first after updating battery life was terrible..but after a few charges and reboots it seems to be getting better.
Download an app from the play store called "CPU Stats" and see if the CPU is under serious load when you're not doing anything. If it is, you may have the same issue I had which was that the media scanner was getting stuck in folders that had a lot of files in them. My idle cpu utilization now hovers between 8-30% on core 1 and core 2 stays sleep for the most part.

I offloaded my Titanium Backup folder to my PC & deleted it from my phone plus made sure to get rid of any corrupted pictures (aimed at the 0 bytes ones). So not only is my battery life better, but the performance is also much better because the CPU(s) aren't really doing anything until I actually use the phone. Note that this is an issue I've only had w/ Touchwiz Jellybean and never had it with CM10 or any AOSP based rom. This is a bug that Samsung/Google really needs to get on top of because I'm sure that a lot of people are having this problem and don't know how to fix it.

My battery life has been amazing
This was after the weekend. Friday Morning I charged it and then I was off I went to work. After I went to a party didn't charge my phone. Woke up in some girls room. Still surprised I had more than 50%. I didn't go home that day and everyone had an iphone so I couldn't charge my baby. Wake up go home and I had this much and I was like wow holy sh**.
Stats: I had a little over an hour of talk time and a little under 2 hours of screen time.
Yeah I know why is battery life good if you don't use the phone but dude seriously I had a GS2 and drainage on standby was so bad. I like that they improved standby battery drainage this was beautiful. I have the latest Stock Jelly Bean. Rooted, debloated myself with stock Kernel. Might add a new Kernel but don't really need to this is just great.

My idle cpu utilization now hovers between 8-30% on core 1 and core 2 stays sleep for the most part.

How did you fix your issue?

I was having this exact issue and fixed mine by copying my external SD card contents onto my desktop and then reformatting my sd card. After that I just transfered my old pictures and videos back to my card.
For people who are having poor battery life, the best thing you can do to help others help you is post a screen shot or at least write down what is using your battery and how long you have screen on time. When I was having my media issue it was obvious when looking at the battery usage since my cpu was constantly awake. Just saying "i have poor battery life" really doesn't explain much at all.
That would explain things... I had my media scanner get stuck and take down my battery a couple of days ago... after a reboot though it was much better... Though I should have let this run longer on battery just to see how long it would run.
Ok so since the JB update it seems my battery has been draining a bit faster. I've tried turning off sync and all the other normal stuff but it doesn't seem to help. Here are my stats and the slight lapse on the time line was when I was in CWM doing a nandroid backup.
I don't think that you can compare yours since you did a backup, that always drains the battery more than normal use would.
Well all I can say is its normally like that. I pull my phone off the charger at 7 am and by 4pm its usually at 10% with maybe an hour of on screen time. I'm just trying to figure out why it dies so much quicker than what most people are posting here. I try to keep everything closed and off and I've frozen all the bloatware.

I'm going to talk about a few things in this review:
Battery Life
The Sense UI
The Screen
BoomSound
Camera's
Round-up/overall impression
Battery Life
The battery life is actually pretty good for the 2400mAh it has, I can easily play games all day and it'll have 20-10% when I'm going to bed (wake up at 6:30am and go to bed at 10:00pm) So it's pretty good for me. Sometimes it'll even last up to 28 hours.

This image might not be totally representative because I didn't charge my phone last night and the night before, but you get the idea.
The Sense UI
I have never been using HTC before, but I like their Sense UI, it's very smooth and it just "works". I'm actually used to the Sony UI or even the Samsung UI on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 but I like HTC's UI a lot more than both Sony's and Samsung's. The Blinkfeed was something I was afraid of being too "present" but I've actually just got used to it and now I actually use it, it's not some trashy gimmick you wont use and hogs RAM, I'm really impressed.
The Screen
HTC Has put a 5.2 inch, Full HD 1080p screen in this device, and it's lovely. It's bright, I'm watching all kinds of TV shows on them (while relaxing the hottub ofcourse, because it's waterproof!) The looking angles are good aswell, friends can easily watch a youtube video with me without having to struggle. I also have no trouble reading content from my screen in the bright sun.
BoomSound Speakers
The BoomSound Speakers and waterproofing were what originally pushed me over the edge to get it, and it delivered, I'm loving these nice clear tunes they deliver, I'm preferring them over my regular laptop's audio (HP Elitebook with SRS Audio Pro). The bass meight be a bit underdelivering (when outside) but that's not something I really am worried about.
Camera's
The Camera's are lovely, and especially the camera app. They even got Instagram to somehow integrate the frontfacing flash in their app, so if you take a photo from within instagram you can use your flash on both sides! It really makes your photo's better. I'm a bit dissapointed in the night performance of the back camera, but when you turn on HDR and adjust white balance it's all good.
Here's a sample photo I took outside a few days ago:
Round-up/overall impression
So I´ve been using this device since release date because I´ve pre-orderd it, I have the blue non-AT&T version and it rocks, I'm using it in water daily and when it gets dirty, I just put it under the tap and dry it off. Overall, I'm quite impressed by how quick it is, It's Snapdragon 801 is lovely and even on playing heavy games it delivers what you expect from a high-end device. I'm not someone who used to take selfie's but somehow, I started taking selfie's more often because of the lovely camera I got now (well, I come from a 0.3 mp frontcam so that's not really hard to beat). Compared to a S5 I would take this over it any day. Feel free to ask me any questions you have, I'll answer them honestly.
Could you post some more pictures about battery usage, SoT, maybe compare it with some other phone and etc.? The battery life is only thing I am afraid off, thinking about Desire Eye or Sony X Z2, but Sony let me down with XSp, so maybe will try HTC if battery life is ok. Thanks

I'm not really sure what pic's to do, but I'll post one after tomorrow. I don't really have another phone, my previous ones died.
Just take pic of your battery usage when in goes around 1-5%, how many hours it run, with how many hours screen on time and that with info about sync, brightness and etc.

http://imgur.com/ZlRzc3w,N7xjNdN,wwDUvv8,2mJSHFi#3 Album of some screens, I can't get it down to 5% in a day as it goes up to 28 hours with normal usage (spotify social media a few games here and there). I'm sorry It's at 37% right now.
Thank you, I just need screen on time, if u can get a pic of that, because i guess screen drains most of the battery, i think its on the next page, near battery history all time, usage of screen? Or u can see it if u have Batterystatus app or something like that
