Can't seem to recieve the 4.0.4 build through OTA? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So I went ahead and flashed the 4.0.2 yakju build from Google to receive OTA's but it doesn't seem to work? My phone reports itself as "yakju" and so do the "gn official update" app.
What to do?
I flashed the 4.0.2 build to see if OTA's worked, but it doesn't seem to have made any effect? Or has Google pulled the 4.0.4 OTA?

probably the 4.0.4 ota has been pulled because of the signal_lost_on_standby problem that some users have been experience
by the way, in the same way u flashed the 4.0.2 image, u can flash the 4.0.4 image manually as well

I manually, through temp-booting CWM, I flashed an "IMM76D" OTA from a guide efrant had written.

[Q] OTA updates when rooted?

Hi,
I have rooted my GN using Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit
I had ICS 4.0.3, and now I have 4.0.2 :S I searched for OTA update, but there is nothing. Whats going on? Am I still able to recieve OTA updates? Why cant I update to 4.0.3? I got the Jakyu version
Technically speaking, yes. If you are worried, just unroot, update then root again. Anyway, OTAs will revoke your root access if it's successful.
But if you are rooted and running a custom ROM, then it's a different story.
I won't worry about it because worse come to worst, you can just download the rooted OTAs online and flash it yourself. There will be so many floating around online when an official one drops.
4.0.2 is the latest OTA update available.
There isn't a 4.0.3 OTA. The latest is 4.0.2.

Can i flash aokp b37 over stock 4.0.2?

sorry i got my phone today and i updated it via wifi. now it's running ics 4.0.2 build icl53f. and it doesn't do anything when i tap update again. i thought it would upgrade to 4.0.4.
can i flash the latest aokp now or do i have to flash 4.0.4 via odin first?
does it make a difference?
No difference at all.
Use my guide (linked in sig...post #2) to install a rom the correct way (bug free).
I personally just updated.
Solid build.
Just in case you wanted to know why you didn't get the update for 4.0.4, Google doesn't control the release cycle for non-yakju phones (phones that are running ROMs from carriers/vendors). It has to go through their process before it gets sent to you. If you really want IMM76I without needing to go the custom route, just flash the yakju (stock Google) images here. Instructions are here.
I have YAKJU build still no Jellybean OTA on my GNexus
I am now on IMM76I & i have not received OTA update to Jellybean 4.1.
Is per your instructions I have updated to the Google version of ICS (YAKJU).
Should I wait for the OTA? or is there any other way to get Jellybean? (Dont want to root)

You can try to "force it" with the Google Services Framework trick. That's about it.

Update to 4.04 Maguro variant (4.01)ITL4F

I am a noob and have managed to unlock/root my Nexus. But I have been reading/attemting to update to 4.04 but update always fails, or will not begin. I reboot into recovery, using CWM and select the update file, but it always fails. I think, I just don't have the right update file for my variant, or I am asking, what is it I have to do to update this GSM 4.01 Nexus?
Flashing an OTA won't work unless you have the specific upgrade path.
My guess is you aren't on the yakju variant since you are still on 4.0.1.
My advice is to read through efrant's guide. It has all the info you need.
Are you on Virgin Mobile Canada? In that case, your phone must've come with Yakjuux, and you're probably trying to apply the yakju 4.0.4 update file which doesn't work for 2 reasons:
1) You're not on yakju
2) The yakju 4.0.4 update files are only for 4.0.2 and existing 4.0.4 versions, not for 4.0.1.
Your best bet is to install stock 4.0.4 full images from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images . Follow the instructions there. You won't need to apply an update file in the end since if you follow the instructions, you'd flash a full 4.0.4 image straight from Google.

[Q] Quick JB OTA Question

I currently have a Telus GSM GNex 4.0.4 flashed to the yakju builds so I can receive the OTA updates directly from Google. If I install the stock Jelly Bean 4.1 ROM, will I be able to receive subsequent OTA updates from Google?
Thanks.

yes
AFAIK, for flashing 4.1, u need CWM. if u have CWM, u cant get OTA.

We need to be a bit clearer than that in order to not cause confusion:
1) CWM is needed to flash JRN84D in current form, but that doesn't mean that CWM needs to be installed on your device. Booting CWM is fine.
2) All stock ROMs (including JRN84D) which have been updated from a previous build via an OTA update have two files in /system which re-flash the stock recovery on EVERY reboot. So, even if you did have CWM flashed, it would be gone unless you modified the ROM.
3) Even if you do keep CWM, you will still receive the notification that there is an OTA update, and you can install it -- it just won't install automatically. You need to manually download it, re-boot into CWM and flash it. But it will work fine.

Do I need to change my build?

Hi,
I originally changed from yakujuux to yakuju in order to get from 4.0.1 to 4.0.4 a while ago.
Now I'm trying to upgrade from 4.0.4 to 4.2. I am currently yakuju builld IMM76I. I tried doing an incremental update through CWM and I got an error. I think it's because of the different radios right?
So what would be the best route to fix this? Should I change build's back and downgrade? I also tried installing the official stock ROM but that didn't work either.
Any ideas?
Going through some folders I just saw one of a build backup when I changed it before.
How do I use this backup?
These are the files I have...http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a210/ruckus17/scrnsht.png

you can't update from 4.0.4 to 4.2.1 through ota
through ota: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419170
through official nexus factory images/fastboot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
When trying the incremental updates, I had downloaded the files and ran them through CWM, not actually through OTA.
I tried the google factory image through CWM and also through the Gnex toolkit, again with no luck.
I have the system update notification on my phone, but everytime it goes to install the update, it fails and displays the android logo with a red triangle in his chest.
Like I said, all I did before, was unlock the phone and change from yakujuux to yakuju to obtain 4.0.4 without root. So that's all I can really think of why it isn't installing any updates. My Gnex is now rooted and unlocked.

who said anything about cwm or a toolkit???
I had meant I had tried with the toolkit and CWM before trying the link you posted.
The return to stock method worked. Thanks!
