Hi guys
I noticed today a gap between the screen and the metal frame surrounding the screen ( not between the screen and the polycarbonate body). Whenever I press on the screen where the gap is, the screen goes down and there is some color distortion on the screen. Dust is also accumulating in the gap. Is anyone having the same issue ?
Some people have reported that their screen doesn't fit properly. There should be a very small gap between the glass, a metal/plastic ring and the case itself though.
My One X has a tiny gap which seems to attract dust but the screen is fitted properly so it doesn't flex at all.
Picture please!

If I remember correctly, when I got my G2 back in November (or sometime thereabouts), the screen was flush with the edge. Since then, I've used a Realook screen protector that I took off last night, and maybe it's because the screen protector was on it that I didn't notice, but there seems to be a very noticeable, sharp lip around the long edges; I felt it when I flicked across the screen. If I hold the phone horizontally against a bright backdrop and look across the screen, it seems as if the lip is just a bit thicker closer to the middle.
Maybe I'm being paranoid, but the lip is noticeable enough during use that it's bugging me. Could the screen have recessed a bit into the body?
Ran off into second page. Bump!

the metal unibody around the screen is higher than the glass to prevent your finger from sliding completely off the screen. the screen is suposed to be recessed a tiny bit in. and there are parts behind the screen that prevent the screen from caving in. there is no room for your screen to cave in.
I noticed my glass panel is very slightly (0.5mm ish) coming out on the bottom-right hand of the device. Is this normal? It isn't loose (I applied some medium pressure to try to "snap it" to the same level of the rest of the glass but it didn't move at all).
I don't think that is normal at all. Mine looks recessed on all the edges. Meaning the outer frame sticks out past the glass surface (very slightly).

Same here,
although the left side is a little lower then the right.
I don't know if its .5mm, but the bottom right side is definitely slightly higher than the other corners
BTW this is on the GSM version (Canada) bought from Virgin Mobile.
Upon looking closely, the glass is actually thicker on that corner so that's why it's popping so I'm not too worried about it being loose. 0.5mm is about half a CD/Dvd's thickness so it's really minor.
I'm just wondering if it's a glass manufacturing defect or if it's intended on certain models. I think it's probably a very minor defect because of the curved nature of the glass.
There seems to be a tiny gap (about a 1/10th of a mm) between the bottom of the screen and the casing. Dust keeps getting stuck between this space, this is specially true if I use a case.. to get rid of it I have to slide the corner of a sheet of paper along the gap to clear any small pieces of dirt stuck there.
Not having this issue on the sides or the top.. does anyone else have space between the bottom of the screen and the casing (wide enough to slide a sheet of paper)?
yup. same here. dust goes in sometimes. the housing seems a lil flexible so i kinda pry it open a little and clean the dust off.
Just above the earpiece speaker, there appears to be a small crack in the bezel on my defy, which runs form the edge near the screen to the rubber headphone jack cover.
is this an issue, and could it be fixed?
Should not be an issue as long as you don't wet it. The only way to fix it is to change the whole housing with this for example.
Title says it all. Will a screen protectors cover up the tiny scratches that are evident on my One V? The scratches are pretty small and not too deep, but some pixel interference with the screen is on is present.
yeaaaaa..
