sorry if this is really bringing a thread back from the dead, but there's a free app called Secure Settings that enables GPS to work in Tasker.

Thanks a bunch! Been just waiting for CM so i could turn gps on again with tasker.. lol
Didn't realize that existed.
BLN also works, but was the request for it to work VIA Tasker?
You need a kernel that supports BLN.

New kernel - Full Keyboard and softkey support and base speed of 307mhz to prevent crashes - removed file is broken
and for those that just want full hard and soft key support - http://www.mediafire.com/?fbngo66nizrb8hw

So I just tried to run WiFi Calling (Desire S port b3r3.1), and it kept force closing. Obviously not a big deal since WiFi isn't currently working, but does your kernel have the kineto module in it so that once we get WiFi we can do WiFi calling? Also, I tried to run LED Me Know, and it also FC'd. I don't know if that's a kernel problem, a ROM problem, or if it's just not compatible with ICS yet, but I thought I'd let you know in case it was a kernel problem.
Thanks again for all the hard work!

I by no means take credit for these but I can confirm they are working for me. I got these from the Skyrocket forums:
To fix the power off/reboot freeze issue do the following:
Make a CWM Nandroid backup of the ICS ROM. Then do a restore of the backup you just made without wiping anything. Reboot and test it out. It worked perfect for me.
Not sure why it works but it must have something to do with the restore scripts being used. They must somehow correct the power off/reboot issue.
To fix the portable hotspot issue do the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24134762&postcount=25
This has been tested by me and it works like a charm.
If I helped you please hit the thanks button.

Unfortunately I think the auto-rotate issue is kernel related so we have to wait for a specific kernel for our phones. I downloaded an app from the market "Auto-Rotate Status Bar Switch" and it seems to work pretty well.
ok thanks will try it right now and I leave at 6 am for my job and I have much time for that lolll

so im using Ravers blackedition rc3, with the ICS theme designed for rc2.

By flashing these you assume all risks involved. I cannot be held liable. If Sprint detects your tethering and reacts accordingly, I am not responsible for any charges or damages.
That being said, I have had no issues myself. I've used the tethering from this for quite some time and haven't gotten charged or received any kind of cease and desist letters. I don't expect anyone else would either, but I have no way of knowing for sure. YMMV

I have some flashables I made for my own device. I prefer the pure stock experience, but I wanted native tethering enabled. Here are a few flashables that I made for my own personal use, but I figured other people might enjoy it. This has been tested with bluetooth and wifi tethering.
The flashables have only been tested using TWRP. Other recoveries may work but are not guaranteed.
These are only intended for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus.
Flash this at your own risk! I am NOT responsible for any damage caused to your device. Always perform a NANDROID backup before installing anything. By flashing these you agree to accept all risk involved therein and I cannot be responsible for any losses or damages caused.

Same here. Clockworksmod shows an incompatibility with the Updater-Script.
I may try to just copy the framwork-res.apk to the rom.
I've updated the zips and tested them on my phone. They work on TWRP. No promises for CWM. Let me know if it's still broken on CWM and I'll try to fix that too.

They both modify the same resource, so you have to use the combined version to get both. Using one then the other just overwrites what the other one did. That zip contains both tethering and 360º rotation without lockscreen rotation, so you should be good.
Thanks it worked for the wireless tethering on mine. 3g doesnt go away like it used to when I tried to tether.
One question. I went ahead and unlocked the bootloader and rooted for this purpose and, honestly, only this purpose. Im wondering, could I just unlock the bootloader and still leave the ROM secure to do something like this since its being flashed? Id much rather not have things like Google Wallet barking at me because its rooted.

Awesome and I see u modified the OP. I'll restore and flash the combo zip.
Got any other mods often found only in custom roms?
Navi bar size mods?
Carrier name changes?
Maybe ability to simultaneously use pattern/pin lock with the default slide lock screen?!?
Willing to donate for any work u do!
Edit: when using the tether/rotate combo zip, tether functions but the lock screen rotates as well. Not a big deal as I have no problem using wifi tether.

I would love to find these mods (preferably in a flashable zip) either in a ROM or that I can do myself.
1. Force roam (roam control doesnt even work)
2. 1X/3G mod (I know the ultralight ROM has this but it appears to be the only one right now that lists it)
3. Deactivate security admistrator permissions for exchange email account
Coming from an EVO LTE and previous HTC devices, I miss these mods dearly.

What I have noticed with the Sprint ROMs on my phone is the 1X/3G handoff isn't really working so much. If 1X is available and there's no 3G is shows. If you go from 3G service to poor 3G it won't handoff to 1X like it normally should. Not sure if that's a bug between the OS and my radio or just the OS since I'm again running this on my US Cellular Note 2. But in the end if does show 1X with that mod. Just need a fix for the 1X/3G handoff.
I fixed up mine a while back and see it on 1x at various times. I assume your fix was just flipping the min3G boolean in the system ui apk.
