Hello. Is there any way to make flash workin' on sites where site writes "need newest flash player blah blah blah"? I mean, there are many websites where you must use Skyfire to see video, but in Skyfire there is worse quality and you can't scroll time (from 1:00 fastly go to 5:00). On ICS it works perfectly, but... I used 4.0 about 3 months and I actually don't want to re-change to it (I use 2.3.6 JVU GamerzRom "from Samsung").
So, is it possible? Thanks.

hey
there is a full flash player download in themes and apps i think. its 10.1 adobe flash haven't tried on hulu works other places
forgot
search it there
Tried that it still says it cant cause of my platform
Currently you can't.
Hulu implements a special code that detects your browser and compares it to a list of "Compatible" (AKA Desktop) browsers. If your browsers fails this check (isn't on the list) the video will not load.
The Nexus one has a few special tricks (perks of being fully rooted) that bypass this issue be "tricking" Hulu. Evo JUST got full root today (from my understanding) so give it a few days.
Now if only we could get Silverlight working all my Fanboy dreams will be true...
you shouldnt need root to do this. just a browser capable of changing its userAgent string.
well i tried using dolphinhd where you can change it to desktop but it was still a no go

I am no expert, but i am thinking this is because you still need the full flash, not flash lite that comes with the Evo.... Froyo and some creative code should allow Hulu to happen for us.. just wait a few for these amazing devs to work their magic and BAAM!! lol
We can install full flash instead of using the preinstalled flash lite, but that only works with the HTC Browser which will not fool Hulu. Anyone test Hulu on a Froyo testbuild on the EVO?
Gif files are not animated on my 5660m flashed with Arpeggiomod V0.9. I have tried viewing the file in "dolphin browser HD" and "reddit is fun" but in both cases I just see the first frame of the gif.
This file is indeed animated on my friends Galaxy S2.
Any advice?
galaxy s2 has flash and is extremely powerfull -_- so wont expect that on gio
s2 is 7 times as expensive as gio and 100 times better then gio
There is a thread on here for getting Adobe Flash on any ARMv6 phone, and I've gotten it working on my Gio before. The thread title reports the version as being either 11.10 or 11.01, but it is in fact 10.3.
Search that up in the top right. Remember, though, your phone must be rooted and you must have Root Explorer or some similar app.

Ppl what are you talking about? OP asked about GIF, not flash!
BTW, does viewing .gif file locally (say, via gallery) work? Maybe that Arpeggiomod has some bug that prevents gif animation from working... You should also try other browsers as well (say, Opera Mobile and builtin Android browser).
Does it even work on unmodded stock ROMs?
hi everyone... i have readed on internet that the flash player will be deleted and no one can have this on Android 4.0 or 4.1 after the 15th of august...

Adobe have stated that after this date flash will not be downloadable from the play store for devices that ARE NOT natively supported (meaning it doesn't have a plugin libs in /system/lib/plugins/ in the unedited stock rom).
Those that are, flash will still downloadable through the market (though no longer updated).
Flash already installed on devices will continute to operate and will not magically shut off after this date.

Who needs flash? I'm not using and the only difference between having flash player installed or not is the amount of advertisements you see on a webpage. As long as you don't player flash games through your browser there won't be any need for it.

Lucky you, there are several websites that don't have an optmized mobile page/html 5, and all info / website is in flash... I'm more than happy to be able to navigate in such sites, even if it is clumsy, unoptmized, laggy... At least I can see the info I need whenever I need, even if not perfect...
While most people won't hit such web sites often, it is possible, specially whenever you are on the road, have the phone with you, and the info you need is in that god damned flash page... I just can't remember how many times my sister called me telling she was en route to some place, trying to get info from another place, and couldn't because the page won't load on her phone, asking me to check the information for her.... :victory: I probably could live without flash, I probably could also live without a smartphone and not checking the web while on the streets, but, if I can do that and that saves me precisous time, I'm more than willing to not part with Flash Player... I just use it with plugins on-demand setting and that work very fine for me.
I recently bought a Nexus 7, which doesn't come with the Android browser, only Chrome which doesn't run Flash. I uploaded the Flash player that was installed my Galaxy Nexus phone to Dropbox, then installed it on my Nexus 7. Several 3rd party browsers can run Flash on the Nexus 7, I choose Firefox. Now I can still run Flash infested sites even though Android 4.1.1 wasn't supposed to have it. This gives me hope that Flash will continue to be available on our GNex as well.
Flash works fine on a Stock (OTA updated from ICS) gnexus running JB 4.1.1 if you sideload the apk, it has the same old flash problems (buggy in places, bit of a cpu hog) but it works.
Basically that adobe link says that they will flip the switch and only allow people who have it installed, to get updates, nothing about deleting it from your phone
tl;dr sideload it until it breaks due to changes in android.
Flash is needed for the bbc iplayer apps.
Just checked on my 2nd GN (stock jb 4.1.1) and the adobe flash app and bbc iplayer is not showing in the store. Though it is installed and working fine on my main GN which is identical but i had flash and iplayer installed before i updated to jb.
Neither are available for my nexus 7.

I'm pretty sure the BBC have HTML5 streams for iOS devices, they just need to pull their thumbs out and update the app
Indeed, maybe this is google giving them a good kick up the arse!

hey all,
im aware that jelly bean abandoned adobe flash, or vice versa. my question is: is there any solution for playing flash live streams using jb?
so far have tried installing flash player apk and using it with old versions of firefox beta, opera mobile 12 and dolphin 8.5.1. every time i try to test for flash, i get some laggy sound, no video and corrupted ads around.
if there is no solution, ill have to downgrade to ics and stay with it for the rest of my life
thanks
Try Google Chrome. They got flash built in.
actually, chrome that comes with jb doesnt support flash, even though desktop version has it built in
There is a an apk for jb in a different website (I believe it's android police - or something like that).
How it works? Not sure since I use aurora which is a beta browser and the video is unbearable. Could be the browser or the apk.
If you can't find it let me know and I'll upload it.
Edit: just read your post nevermind.

so i guess theres no trick out there. just thinking it was stupid of them to get rid of such a feature without providing a ready alternative. its like stopping provide petrol even though electric cars arent properly out yet

The newer updates as of late December some websites have become mainly flash is like the browser refuses to accept the site no matter what browser you use. I've used macks 3.6, and jelly bombed

I use flash just fine all you have to do is sideload it and use a 3rd party browser and flash works just like it did on ICS and websites didn't suddenly decide to use flash most sites are actually migrating to html5 and have the option to choose the flash version or html5 version of the site. Be glad you don't have an iFail they've never had flash and you can't even sideload it to get it working:thumbdown:

Flash works just fine on stock browser. For most sites I visit anyway. Pm me for the flashplayer.apk I use.

I like to watch alot of anime and when I updated the rom I found out I couldnt get into sites like Novamov, bc with them i can play the anime on mxplayer instead of using a web based player. I went back to 3.5 and it works perfectly fine, does morphology have anything to do with messing with the browser and I do have flash installed the issue happens on the stock browser as well

And what I mean about the websites is the page doesnt load its as if my internet cuts out but then I goto a different site and it works perfectly fine.
Maybe when key lime pie releases it will fix apps2sd for our phone.

One annoyance that ics caused is the inability to play my notification AND music at the same time, without pausing my music and taking temporary focus.
I have to turn my notification sounds off because of this and it annoys me.

sounds more like a flash player issue than an Android one. You can side load Flash Player as at least one person has stated; one even offered to send APK.
The problem, flash player hasn't really been updated for ICS and beyond. It will work. In my experience, how well it works on sites is very dependent how that particular site encoded their flash content. I've had where video plays fine until I go full screen, the picture disappears but I have audio. And Adobe is no longer giving any support for the mobile flash player; maybe if there is some critical security issue to fix it.
What you can try to do is trying using different browsers that can use Flash Player such as Boat or Dolphin. I use Boat for flash sites. I only go to limited sites for those needs. I couldn't get Dolphin to open, but on the Evo 4G is was most flash friendly (gave the least problem in regards to flash player). There are a couple others browsers. Too bad Google didn't want do it for Chrome since I like how it works on the desktop version.
I'm not familiar with any of the aninme sites. There may be altermatives to use. You could trying use Plex and book marking the videos you want to see on the desktop. Then later you can load the Plex Android app to watch it; works well unless there are commercials and they use a different feed; it doesn't switch back to the main video. You could see if the sites lets you downlaod the video and play through a media such a Google Play, BS Player, Mobo Player and so on.
As for Gingerbread, you're going to need custom rom that someone will probably need to make from the ground up since no variant was released with it. Then there are the carrier specifics for drivers and radios. It's a lot of work that I don't think many users would be interested in using, which can have a major influence on developers taking the challenge. People want the upcoming Android, not stuff from two years ago.
Hmm Ok Thanks

I dont have this issue anymore. used to on stock but not on macks rom 4.0...now the music volume temporarily fades when the notification comes in but continues to play and resumes normally
Edit: I take this back. Also have the same issue still. Thought the issue was gone until I tried listening thru headphones...very annoying. Phone won't even ring through a headset?!

I've noticed an issue on stock TW (LK8) where flash sites cause it to fail loading and then crashes the browser. Restarting the browser get the page to load.
But keep in mind that's not the direction that the internet standard is going. Flash as a video tool is being phased out as HTML5 standards now support most of the content that Flash used to - without Adobe having to absorb costs of development and support for Flash Players across the spectrum. Some sites will take longer than others to make the transition... but there are always other sites out there.
And for general info - whether it's TV, Anime, etc. - I recommend downloading a (legal) copy over streaming whenever possible. Sure it takes a little longer to plan and get the files... but then you get a better quality viewing experience and no lag - no matter how many times you watch it!
